There was no avoiding the attack. Dmitriy watched his Chikorita as she gave one small lunge to the side to dodge, but it was hardly enough. Once the teeth made contact, he tightened his grip on her pokeball. There was no way she was going to win. The wild electric type had too much energy in comparison to her sluggish movement.
Once she was on the ground, he pulled his arm back, ball in hand. There was some movement. He knew if he didn't call her back now, she would drag herself back up. At least this way she could act like she had a chance of winning. It was a pride-saving move on his part. He threw the ball just as she shifted, one leg straightening to push herself up. The red light surrounded her, and soon the ball was back in his hand.
When it came to the rest of his pokemon, he was almost out of luck. Kiz was obviously out of the question, as was that irritating neon fire monkey thing. Bane was too busy /mingling/ with the biased Ponyta and he wouldn't want to interrupt that. Bitterly, he grabbed Vincent's pokeball. This was the first time he'd actually battled with the Sentret, but after watching Bane try and fight him, he felt confident in the decision.
"Scratch!" He ordered as the pokeball was thrown, the red light dispersing to reveal the normal type. The pokemon didn't even hesitate before dashing forward, claws glittering as he aimed a strike.

As the red light claimed his victim, his eyes traced the red light all the way to the Poke'ball in the Trainer's hand. His tail lashed back and forth in fury and victory. He was about to leave, feeling his job was more than complete (and since there was no body, no meal to eat) when he heard another command come from the Trainer and another Pokemon come springing forth from nowhere. His jaw loosened a little, and hung slightly agape. Was this and Endless Battle? So caught up he did not even see the speed at which the brown Pokemon moved, and within seconds felt himself fall softly to the ground, not quite fainted but clearly unable to do anymore damage on his own. He could recover if left alone, he'd been through worse. But worse at the hands of enemy tribes or other Pokemon; never by a human.

Dmitriy instantly felt guilty. His Chikorita might have actually managed to pull through the entire thing had he not called her back early. His face heated up slightly, hoping his mistake went unnoticed.
Vincent pushed his tail into the dirt and raised himself slightly, glancing back at Dmitriy as if unsure what to do now. Was it already over? He'd only used one attack! Once he caught a cue from Dmitriy, he scampered back, puffing his chest out and raising himself once more.
"Alright, alright." The morph mumbled, considering informing the Sentret that it had been Thea who did most of the work. The pokemon's pride could certainly take a hit, that much was certain. However, Dmitriy decided to bite his tongue, giving a small smile and adding, "Good work."
He took out a pokeball and his small smile grew to a smug one as he took a few steps towards the pokemon. "What happened to wiping the meadow with them?"

His sides heaved and the ground at his mouth dusted up with every breath. ~Your toys are well built.~ was all he spoke, giving the Trainer a one-eyed look. It was annoyed, but some where deep in them was respect. Though Dmitriy was quite possibly the worst Trainer he'd every crossed fangs with; he had won. Even if it had been a little cheap. After a long moment of breathing, the Luxio rolled so that he faced Dmitriy - locking the boy in a feline stare. It was a very serious one. ~If you intend to catch me, do not expect me to listen to you. You are, without a doubt, the worst Pride leader I have ever laid eyes on.~ his tail slowly waved back and forth behind him. His pride would not miss him.
Walnut, who had been full of a little pride at the win, could not help but laugh. He cast Dmitriy a wry look, still sitting comfortably on the ground not far from the battle...And not far from the young Ponyta and her passenger. The equine creature craned her head back at the lizard, quizzical, before looking back at the stare-off.

The insult made him look away, embarrassed. He really /was/ the worst trainer he'd ever seen too. Not like the other trainers he saw. The ones with their pokedex permanently in their fingers and their bags containing at least one field guide to the pokemon in the land they were exploring. The ones who could not only identify the berries they found, but offer the side-effects that came from eating it.
"I already have to prove myself to this guy-" he gestured to Walnut, grinning despite himself, "I'll get better." It was a promise. He needed to. If he ran into an actual person at this point, he would only embarrass himself. It was bad enough to do so one pokemon at a time.
Deciding there was really nothing more to say, he unceremoniously dropped the pokeball on the creature, his eyes following it until it made contact.

~Hope so.~ was all the lion managed before a white shimmering light swallowed him up.
Name; Gender; Male Species; Luxio Level; 16 Moves; Leer | Tackle | Bite | Charge | Spark Personality; A grumpy, moody, creature that despises changes. He has a sharp tongue; but he is loyal. Once you get past all the electricity and claws.
~I just gave you a task~ the Cranidos replied, crossing his arms. Even if it was a pretty big one. ...A really big one.

"An impossible one." Dmitriy muttered, flashing the Cranidos a grin and snatching the pokeball off the ground after it stopped moving, "It's fine though. Keeps me on my toes and all that." He laughed lightly and glanced back at his Charmander.
"What, no congrats?" He asked her, glancing at the Ponyta almost jealously. The Charmander gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up, instantly bringing a smile to his face.

Walnut only shook his head with a wry grin, ~It's as impossible as you make it.~ He stood, shaking the dirt off himself and yawned. ~So, what next hotshot?~
The Ponyta trotted over, ears forward, and let out a low nicker. She turned so that Bane could face Dimitri, and then turned her head to fix the boy with her curious gaze.

"I want to go into the city." He glanced at Walnut, then gave a long look at the Ponyta. Again, the thought of attacking her came to mind. Would Bane be mad if he took her out..? He considered his pokemon options. He could send out Vince for the initial attack to stop her from fleeing. He was fast, after all... Then again, Kio knew smokescreen. He could make her escape harder by blinding her...
But did he really want to attack something named Karma? Superstitious or not, it sounded like a bad idea...
Redirecting his gaze back to the Cranidos, he grinned, "You are following me to the city, aren't you?" The task given to him seemed an unlikely thing to expect before they got out of the forest, so he had a hard time believing this would be the end of Bane's travels with him.

Walnut looked perplexed. A city...His expression slowly clouded with deep thought. A Wild Pokemon in a city seemed like a terrible idea, and Walnut was no fool. He knew he was strong to this kid now - but there were other trainers who had been out there longer. Who had stronger Pokemon, and Pokemon he was weak against. And he would be powerless to stop a Poke'ball from coming his way. He tapped a claw on his head as he thought. He'd no doubt Dmitriy would at least attempt to protect him; but again - he was a new trainer. The city would be dangerous. ~Perhaps~ was all he spoke. He would think on it more as they got closer.
The Ponyta pranced a little in place. She wasn't sure about her new friend, but she would follow the strange Poke'mon in front of her. He seemed interesting, and not hostile; and he had so many friends with him! Even a social creature like herself couldn't summon up friends like he could. It was fascinating. While she wasn't in the mood to verbally display all of this, Karma hoped she made her point clear when she faced the same direction the trainer was facing and took a few curious steps forward.
