The Sentret popped out, staring at the Charmander with narrowed eyes. But, instead of charging the foe, his eyes began to glow. Softly at first, then full on white as he stared at Bane, analyzing his every inch- using Foresight.
The Cranidos looked over at Dmitriy, ~Looks like ya got a one-up on me, newbie. TM?~ the dinosaur blinked a few times, lazily, trying to recalled what a "TM" was or could be.

<Erm..> Dmitriy had no idea what 'TM' stood for, or even how to explain it, <Pretty much.. when you give it to a pokemon, they can learn the move that's put on it. See, my problem is I don't know what moves a Charmander learns from those.> He glanced up at Bane, nearly forgetting there was a battle going on. <Bane, don't attack when he's like that. I know it's tempting, but it doesn't look right.>
The charmander nodded, agreeing. He just continued the soft growl under his throat, waiting for the opponent to make a move.

The Cranidos let a grin crawl across his face again, ~Nevermind, newbie. It's not a one-up if you don't know what it is.~ he tilted his head, suddenly thoughtful, ~Don't you have a device that tells you all sorts of interesting facts about Pokemon with you? I've seen other Trainers with them.~
The Sentret's white-hot glare simmered down and then was gone in a flash. Flicking his unintimidating ears and lowering his body, the brown furred Pokemon charged, planning to raised his paw at last second for a Scratch attack.

Dmitriy blinked. Honestly, he'd forgotten he had a pokedex with him. He dragged the small hand held computer-like device out of his bag, flipping it open. <Alright. Got one, but don't know how to work it.> With that he took one look, then handed it off in the other pokemon's direction. <I think you should try it. I'm not good with technology.>
It obviously did not occur to him that the pokemon probably knew less about it than he did.
Bane leaped out of the way, but the claw that flew out was under his radar and smacked him across the chin, sending him sprawling backwards, skidding to a stop after a foot or so. He stood back up, glowering at the pokemon before leaping forward with his own scratch, zigzagging towards the Sentret in hopes of confusing it.

The Cranidos gave him a look that re-affirmed that the fourth wall narration was correct: He simply knew they existed, and was told it had everything anyone needed to know about Pokemon in it. Even so, he was willing to give it a try, taking the device awkwardly in his claws and pointing it at Bane- getting fed useless information about their tail flames and such nonsense. After a long moment of staring at the button set-ups, he pressed one with his claw, hoping for a result.
THe Sentret grinned when he scored a hit, but stared at the zig-zagging fool infront of him. What was he trying to do, running like that? he looked stupid, and- Wham! A set of sharp claws dug unto the lighter Pokemon; causing him to bounce back again in a reflexive Defense Curl. This time, however, he didn't spring back out.

The red lizard called over to his trainer who was busily watching the screen of his pokedex. Dmitriy's head snapped up to see the pokemon who seemed to be frozen mid-attack. This was good. The Sentret seemed to be a better fighter and a little more normal Kiz. He smiled at the thought of giving his little lizard a break, reaching his hand into his bag again and retrieving a pokeball. This was possibly the most exciting part. He always liked throwing things. With the same effortless toss he had done when throwing the rocks at the Cranidos' head, Dmitriy tossed the ball at the frozen pokemon, watching that instead of the ongoing of his pokedex.

The Poke'ball hit the Sentret and bounced up, sucking the Wild Pokemon into the capsule and hitting the ground softly. It began to shake, once...Twice....Fwoosh! The Poke'ball soared blissfully back towards Dmitriy's hand- leaving the curled up brown furball right back where he had been a few seconds ago. The Sentret de-curled, shaking himself, and glaring at the Charmander's Trainer. How rude, he wasn't that weak...He took this chance to run at the Charmander again, with a Scratch in mind.
A mechanical Bleep was Walnut's reward, followed by a list of white fonted things he couldn't understand. He frowned, and pressed a different button, satisfied to hear: "Char-mander Attack List:" the odd voice of the machine droned about Embers and Tailwhips and loads of other unimportant moves, and then moved on to something he was looking for, "Technical Machine moves" ...

Dmitriy sighed, looking clearly put out. This was not something he expected. He expected pokemon to practically jump into the pokeballs. Maybe it was uncomfortable in there, or something. The charmander wasn't expecting the move, not even expecting the other pokemon to still be functional. The scratch clawed across his stomach, and he fell forward painfully, grimacing. <Come on Bane.> The charmander shook his head. He'd had enough battling for today. <Crap.> Dmtiriy said, glowering at a ball on his belt, <Go.. Kiz?> he tapped the ball and it opened to let out the small grass pokemon. <Absorb!> he said, pointing to the other pokemon, <Please, Kiz?> The grass pokemon stood there, not understanding and not even noticing the other pokemon.
Dmitriy glanced at the pokedex. <You'll have to share how you did this when we finish losing, here.>

The Sentret blinked at the sudden change of Pokemon, and couldn't help but think: cheater before re-using a move he had used with the Charmander. His eyes began to slowly glow white hot, as he analyzed this new Pokemon with Foresight.
~I'm just a genius.~ the Cranidos murmured, listening to the attacks that came out. Dragon Claw, Protect, Dig, Iron Tail...All interesting moves he picked up from the slowly droning mechanical voice.

Kiz twirled a bit, now out of her pokeball. In her side-view, she noticed the Sentret and turned full around to face him. She stared at him, not quite sure what to do. He was turning weird colors. <Kiz, attack him!> She glanced back at Dmitriy, frowning. How rude. Dmitriy sighed, exasperated.

The brown Pokemon's eyes suddenly snapped back to black and he stared between Kiz and the Trainer, ~...~ he was kind of confused, to be honest. Walnut passed the device back to Dmitriy, it was still talking about Tms and Hms, and his expression was that of someone who was watching something greatly amusing. ~I could help, if you want.~ he offered, yawning.

<That would be great.> Dmtiriy said, annoyed, <Seriously need a break from this whole thing. Go ahead and defeat him.> He said, waving his hand as if to remove a pest, glowering in the Sentret's direction. <I'm going to heal Bane. He's exausted.> He said, rummaging through his bag to try to find a potion. He had thrown everything in there in no order at all and there were pokeballs piled on top of potions and potions on top of other useful things. It took him a while to get a hold of the spray.

~Awesome.~ the Cranidos leapt forward, looking smug. Scratch Attacks and Foresights were useless against his rock-hard hide. The Wild Pokemon seemed to know that, but reguardless bounded forward to slash his claws at the other. A Leer and Headbutt combo, however, was enough to down him (for simple purposes, since I know I'll drone on if I let myself type out a real fight) from the brief encounter with Bane. ~There.~ the Sentret was on his side, eyes swirling, quite knocked out.

The pokeball that had returned to him was thrown yet again at the fainted pokemon. Hopefully this time he would managed the catch. This was good, since he really did need more than one able-bodied (And mentally stable) pokemon to fight. <Thanks. I swear this is more work than I thought.> He said, watching the ball and the fainted pokemon before glancing over at Walnut.

~Haha.~ the Cranidos cackled, turning his grining form to the Trainer, ~Starts are normally rough.~ he replied, tilting his head to watch the Pokemon shake once...Twice...Three times! Ping!
Gotcha! Sentret was caught!
