Blinking, Ardeo watched the Kecleon before scrambling for Teken's Poke'ball; the Ghost Pokemon was getting ready to sink into the shadows when the red beam claimed him. "Hahaha!" the Trainer grinned, feeling like that was a victory indeed. He would have states, so, but he didn't want to leave the poor green creature alone. Confused (literally). "Hey, C'mere. It'll wear off ina minute." he stepped closer to the Kecleon, holding out his hand. Tak looked irritated. Teken barely had to fight him to get him to turn tail, ridiculous! I was so close to winning!

The pokemon didn't move, but the eye that wasn't facing the ground narrowed at the trainer. <I don't need your help!> He snapped, <That was a cheap trick, whatever he did. Made it impossible for me to attack 'em. If I had managed to get a blow in it woulda ended differently.> He suddenly wriggled away from the hand, and stood up too quickly, losing his balance and putting his hands out quickly to catch himself on a tree trunk.

Ardeo blinked, confused for a moment, before he grinned. He pulled his hand back and sat on his feet, wrapping his arms around his legs while watching the green lizard. "That, my friend, is called "Confuse Ray". I can see it worked really well on you." he chuckled a little, but Tak simply glared at the stupid green Pokemon. "It'll wear off soon, though. Promise." ~We're just trying to be nice.~ he muttered, ~No need to be such a jerk about it.~ he was glad that he used the last Potion; last thing he wanted was Arde to do something stupid like offer him the healing item.

The pokemon gave them both a very distrustful look, but soon the effect faded, as promised. <Fine, you won trainer.> He said, looking clearly annoyed still. He shot a dirty look at the charmander, but couldn't think of a decent retort, <Now what?>
This trainer wasn't like the one's he had heard about. Usually, a trainer caught a wounded pokemon. He had gotten so defensive because of this, but it seemed to be in vain.. this trainer was clearly not trained right.

Ardeo reached to pat the lizard on the head, "It was a challenge." he replied, rolling his shoulders in an off-hand manner. "Well, now I'll be on my way. Just wanted to make sure you didn't try running through here all confused." he grinned again, standing up and stretching, Tak just glared more. But at least the Pokemon had admited it. The little Eevee poked her head out from behind Ardeo's leg, the whole affair was rather confusing to her, and she wasn't quite sure how she felt. But after what he did.. Well, she knew he was safe at least; and if she could have, she might have barked in a happy manner.

The Kecleon stared after them, a clearly confused look planted on his face. DIdn't the trainer want him to join their team? Was something wrong with him? He glared at the trainer's back, getting back in an upright position before storming angrily back into the trees.
Up ahead a Bulbasaur was sleeping next to a large oak tree. A ways over Ardeo, a Ariados crawled on a branch, watching the trainer carefully..

After watching the Kecleon disappear, the Blaziken thought for a moment, "Well, I coulda asked him to come with us; but he did say he wasn't interested before, right?" Tak grunted, he preferred not seeing the Kecleon. Hopefully they wouldn't run into him again. "Ah, well, you know what they sa- ohholyMew, is that a Bulbasaur!?" the Morphed scooped up the little Eevee and scooted towards the sleeping creature. Carefully so, eyes shining.

The Bulbasaur's eyes opened when he heard the trainer approaching. He didn't move, but his eyes watched until Ardeo seemed to stop moving. When he was satisfied there would be no random attacking, he yawned the mother of all yawns, his entire mouth wide and showing little white teeth. When the yawn was over, in one gradual movement he let himself fall backwards. In this position, his butt and the bottom of his bulb supported him. He closed his eyes, but after a second he opened one and fixed Ardeo with a sleepy expression, trying to inform the trainer that Meowths weren't the only pokemon who enjoyed having their bellys scratched.

At once, Ardeo felt a feeling rise in his chest, before he let out a, "gerherhe, awh, issoadorable!" he reached out to give the green-skinned Pokemon a nice belly-rub, grinning like a maniac. Tak's jaw dropped, 'What...What is this?' Ardeo didn't get on with Water-types, and he forced his love onto Fire-types... Shouldn't that mean he doesn't like Grass-types too? But, no. There his trainer was. Giving the Bulbasaur a vigorous belly-rubbing, and darn happy about it. Mira, the little Eevee, frowned. Who was this strange Pokemon to be taking her love and attention?

The Bulbasaur looked content, still not saying a thing but enjoying the love all the same. His eyes shot open however when a voice came from near them.
"Hey that's my Bulbasaur! I saw it first! You can't just come through here and take it. It doesn't even like you I bet!" The voice shouted at Ardeo, and a boy broke through the trees. His face was flushed, and he was panting. He had brown hair and eyes, and looked to be about thirteen or fourteen years old. In his hands was a pokeball ready to be thrown.
The pokemon looked at the boy, a clearly confused look on his face.

Ardeo was still cackling until the voice cut across the area; and some dude busted out into the open. "Reh?" he blinked up at the other Trainer, confused, "...Who're you?" he looked down at the Bulbasaur, then back to the kid; even more confused. "...What're you talking about?" Tak shook his head; Ardeo really wasn't the sharpest Scyther in the flock.

The boy stopped and watched Ardeo.
"Me? I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and I'm going to be the best pokemon ma "My name is Andy Bryans, and I am the best in my class for pokemon training. I have been watching that Bulbasaur for days and don't you dare thing you can take him from me! Swellow!" He threw the pokeball in the air and a large bird pokemon flew out, circling high in the sky and watching Ardeo with a fixed expression of dislike. An expression the trainer shared.

"Dood, that is really creepy." he pointed, because honestly. Once you see a Pokemon, you should go after it right then, right? That's what he did. He tilted his head, "I'm not takin' nothin, just giving the little guy a belly-rubbin" and with that he gave the little dinosaur another, short, belly-scratch. "But hey! I love fighting! Let's do it!" he watched the bird Pokemon for a second, and thought. Clearly this kid had been at it for awhile. Maybe longer than him? "So, Tak. Ready for round 2?" the Charmander blinked, and then nodded, sliding off the backpack and landing on the ground.

The boy's eyes narrowed, but he looked satisfied at the unevolved Charmander. "Swellow! Attract." The flying pokemon swooped down quickly, her eyes turning a dimmer red, fading quickly to a light pink. She swelled herself up, getting real close to the fire-type and sending him a very flirtatious look. She flew back up, a trail of what seemed to be gold hearts falling down after her.
The Bulbasaur got up at this, and walked to Ardeo again, rolling on his back in front of the trainer for more of the belly scratches he had gotten before.

Ardeo frowned at the move choice the Trainer started with. How cheap. Tak, being the emotional kind of fellow he was, instantly fell for the move and stared that Swellow with wonder in his eyes. 'Females' Ardeo cursed in his head; of course the Pokemon would know something like that. It would make using his secret weapon move more unstable... He shrugged, but what did it matter? Maybe if he phrased his attacks differently... "Tak! Give her a gift she'll love - Rock Throw!" Tak stood still for a long moment, trying to work out why his Trainer wanted him to attack such a pretty, beautiful ( and no doubt, very intelligent ) Pokemon. Blinking slowly, he thought about the order again and smiled with understanding. Of course! Ardeo must know more about love than he; and girls must like rocks. He nodded, raising a glowing claw and smashing it into the earth, ripping out chunks of rock and using his tail like a bat to deliver his 'gift' to the stunning bird before him.
