However, by the time she got to the boulder, Elicia was exhausted. She was no longer running, merely trotting through the forest, and panting heavily. Not only that, but she lost the sound of the Sentret.
With a groan, she sat on top of the large rock. This was completely useless, but, at least she knew now Tom's friends were still somewhere in this forest.
After a moment of rest, she got back up, and decided to get back to Tom. She had the general idea of which direction she'd run from, and Tom should have been somewhere between here and the path. (Or perhaps he hadn't followed at all, and was still at the path...) Either way, she began to head back out of the forest.
But it didn't take her long to learn that she'd chosen the wrong direction. Even after a few minutes of wandering, she hadn't even found the gigantic tree from earlier...
Uh-Oh.

Adding a quack with each step he took, Tom travelled through the forest, knowing what he wanted and how to get it. As he walked ontop of beautiful, multi-colored flowers, often things would float when they shouldn't have been. That meant rocks, grass, and Pachirisus. But Tom didn't care.
Once the Golduck's quacking was in earshot of Elicia, Tom kept moving on without a care in the world. Except for where he was going, of course.

Quacking... I hear quacking. Elicia stopped in her wandering, cupping her hands over her mouth and yelling- "Tom? Hey, Tom! Over here! I'm over here!"Something told the morph Tom was more likely than not going to ignore her yelling. Perhaps he was still after the Sentret. But it was long gone by now, and she was lost. Damn it. Why her, of all trainers? Somehow she never expected a "pokemon journey" to be like this.

(( Whoopsies! Sorry for not posting for a while.))
Tom kept walking without response, but it didn’t mean he hadn’t heard her. As the Golduck stepped across the ferny ground, something strange began to happen. Little clumps of dirt began to rise behind his path, slowly lifting out of it righteous habitat until it was about shoulder level of the duck. The ground did this in a formal line, but it didn’t just follow his path. It seemed to stretch all the way to where Elicia was, showing her the way to Tom’s location- much to her convienance. Or maybe the Golduck was less sporadic as she thought.

The trainer walked on. She could still hear Tom, the loud duck. But there was no clear sign of him yet. Until she felt something cool and gritty smack into the side of her forehead.
Elicia stumbled back, stunned. "What... the heck?"
Before her floated a large clump of dirt, what she had just walked into. It glowed ominously, and there seemed to be a trail of dirt stretched into the depths of the forest The morph examined the clump for a moment, trying to make sense of this all. The glow did look familiar... somehow, it made her think of Oni.
Right, Oni- she'd been picked up by Tom's psychic power, and was surrounded by the same glow as this trail. Tom was sending her a trail! Well, okay. Maybe he wasn't quite so sporadic.
Elicia followed the trail gratefully, brushing tree limbs and branches out of the way. When she caught the first glimpse of blue, she called out again. "Tom! Hey! Hey!"
She dashed to the Golduck's side. "Hey, buddy. Um... no luck finding your friends, then."

The Golduck had stopped in front of a large boulder that had a small slot into underground that was only big enough for an Ekans to slip through. Somehow, though, Tom knew other things had gone through it. The Golduck’s gem brightened, and the duck began to babble in a rushed, panicky voice. <Someone’s up there, someone’s up there, ohmigad.. This is all his fault, wanting food..Darn him.. I’ll kill ‘im!> Tom finished with a quack. Looking certainly at the boulder, he waited until it shimmered with a pink aura, ripping out from the dirt and rising into the sky. Once it was high enough, Tom lifted his arm as if pushing the air, and with that the rock darted from his spot and catapaulted into the trees. The sound of breaking branches and disturbed wildlife followed. The Golduck was too busy gazing into the hole he had just discovered to notice it. Three pairs of eyes were staring back. Two were a dusty brown, three were crimson red, and one was a gentle sky blue.
At first there was hissing and the glare of white teeth shone in the darkness. With a shove and an oof, the noise was silenced. <Look, chirped a female voice. <It’s only Tom.> <And a human,> added a bored male voice. <Tom and a human.> If he could’ve, he would’ve sounded sarcastic. The voice didn’t seem capable, though. <Fssssssssh!> Instantly angered again, a small puff of fire emerged from the whole and a pair of eyes began shifting until a small brown creature had pounced out from the hole and towards Elicia, blue and red eyes glimmering with anger and mouth caked in blood. The trainer's first reaction was to blink. That was Tom...?
"You talked?!" She nearly shrieked. She hardly noticed what he was talking about, or even how nervous-sounding he seemed. Elicia stumbled forward, noticing his intense stare. When she followed his gaze, he'd picked up the boulder, having the same pinkish glow that she'd seen twice before today. After it had been tossed aside, and the lives of perhaps many small pokemon families were scarred forever, the girl instantly discovered the cause of his strange actions.
Elicia hardly had time to react before she could realize she was being charged. Instinctively, she held up an arm to defend herself, jabbing a foot out to strike right between the crazed creature's long ears.

Choong. Elicia’s knee knocked against solid metal. The push of her body against the creature’s plated forehead did nothing to the metal, but instead caused a ripple of force to go right through it’s body. The brown creature staggered back, wailing with a deformed voice and flashing white fangs as he did so. Shaking his head clear, what appeared- somewhat- to be a Sentret stared coldly at Elicia, tongue lolled out and dribbling drool down his dusty coat of fur. There was metal plating attached awkwardly to his body, obviously out of place as it resembled a Houndour’s. So did his teeth as well, suspiciously canine. And that one red eye.. No unfortunate set of genetics could’ve created such a horrible looking Pokemon.
Licking its lips, the Sentret dove from its hunting crouch and spat out another Ember, getting an extra boost from its tail to try and reach Elicia’s face.

Upon seeing the pokemon's face, an Image flashed in Elicia's mind. A flyer... with the very image of this pokemon depicted on it. As he leaped at her, she merely ducked, having the time to react now. She crouched on her knees, Covering her head with her hands.
Well, there's no doubt about it now. This has got to be the pokemon I saw in the forest... and one of Tom's friends. He knew that duck's name, after all. But, as she thought about this, she quickly remembered that this pokemon wasn't the one to recognize Tom at first. There were two others with him. Which meant that they must have been Tom's other friends. However, at the moment, they didn't seem like talking things out. And Elicia had never exactly learned how to deal with mentally unstable pokemon. And she even had trouble with Tom, who hadn't contemplated killing her yet, as far as she knew... If I could remember this guy's name, maybe I could get him to pause just a second, just enough to make me seem worth listening to. I just need to remember what was on that flyer. All this went through Elicia's head as the hybrid pounced over her crouched body. It only took her a millisecond later to remember. "Schizo! Hold on!" The trainer sprung up and turned around, but not as quickly as she would have hoped, or she'd left herself wide open to another attack by the pokemon.

The Sentret's face dug into the ground rather painfully, and the monster had to grit his teeth and admit he was in pain for once. He was having trouble getting up as his stomach was too full to cooperate, and he looked at the Golduck floating nearby angrily, mentally screaming at him as if it would help. Sluggishly, it regained its footing, eying the trainer with as much hate as he did before.. But he was tottering, tripping on his own feet.
He had a change of heart as she spoke his name. His face immediately turned into a shocked, gaping expression and his light blue eye twitched nervously. <No. Oh no, no, no. Not one of you.. Oh no..> It backed away slowly, never looking away from Elicia. <Come to take me back.. Take me back.. There!> After letting it's voice rise, Schizo went full speed through the girl's legs, taking a nasty fall as it failed to watch out for an upcoming tree root. Stuck in a vulnerable position with his metal accessories weighing him down, the Sentret squealed in fear and scratched an invisable opponent in front of him.
<Schizo, really. Stop.> A Machop's head was peeking above the opening of the hole, with only his dull uncharacteristic eyes showing. <It doesn't seem like much of a threat. Tom would've known right away.. And look at him.> The Sentret managed to pull himself enough to see the blue amphibian doing cartwheels around the trainer. He didn't say a word, only plopped back down into the dirt, knowing what the Machop said was right.
The Mothim hadn't peeked out yet, but she joined the conversation anyway. <I've dealt with humans before. They'd wouldn't do nothing and tell you to stop unless they mean it. Her voice was convincing, anyway.>
In the midst of trying to free a foot from the root, Schizo pounded the ground and grumbled, <Shut up! Okay, I get it!>

"Thanks, I think." Glancing at the machop amd the hole in which she supposed the Mothim was hiding. These pokemon definitely weren't normal.
"Er, I'm sorry I scared you. But you're right, I'm not here to hurt you..." She stopped, and watched Tom spinning through the air before reaching out and grabbing him by the ankle. "This headache seemed lost. I found some fleyers with you on them, and helped him search for the lot of you."
"Keep in mind I've had to put up with his crap all day. I don't want any more of it, either." At this, she made a point of staring down at the pinned Schizo.
(Sorry for crappy post. x.x My muse is returning, buut very slowly.)

Schizo continued tugging at his leg, but he also made a point to challenge Elicia's stare with his twin colored eyes. No words, though.
The Machop nodded slowly. <I see. Thank you, you're the first human whose been that thoughtful..> His voice trailed off and he continued staring at the girl, some form of skeptism in the way he reacted. Rawnie followed up with more confidence in her voice. <Yes, thank you!> A gust of wind and the Mothim flew up out of the hole. The dirt that flew from it and into the Machop's eyes didn't even make him blink. <I say that on behalf on me and Tom, since he can't talk. Not you though, Schizo. There's enough words in that filthy mouth of yours.> The Sentret-Houndour grumbled. <Oh, he's thankful. And sorry!> She landed right next to him and looked down at him very critically, but motherly at the same time. Carefully she slipped his entangled body part out of the root, and with that the furry creature let out a big sigh.
Rawnie watched the relieved Pokemon crawl back to his homely hole. <Hmm. So, how do you plan to-- ahhh..> The Mothim stiffened and watched nervously as the Golduck was plucked from the air and dangled to the ground. There was a frightened quack from him, and a strange force in the air pushed Rawnie backwards from where she stood. She collided with Schizo, who was just about to jump into the hole, sending both tumbling inside. And both were pushed back out in a heap by the mighty Machop. <Thanks, Zombie,> the Mothim huffed, lifting her body off the Sentret. He crawled away, ears flattened in fear as he fell out of sight.
The insect shook any dirt off her with a flap of her wings and straightened a bent antennae. Clearly ruffled, she stated, <So, how did you manage Tom all the way here?>
