(I believe... has it been two days?)
Elicia, hands on hips, groaned as she sat down and began rubbing her knees. Long walk, She thought, I'm glad it's already over. It's only now just gotten dark. Nearby, Ares stood, inspecting the border between route 1 and the desert. It was rather fascinating to the land shark pokemon that at one moment they had been walking on dry sand, the next they had seemed to arrive at a forest path.
the morph looked around for the other few pokemon who had led her here, the trapinch siblings. They had been friendly enough to guide them out of the desert and make sure that she and her pokemon didn't get lost, but she wanted to thank them before she went on her way. Ares seemed to be looking for them too, as he had abandoned his inspection and had begun looking the other way, back at the desert. His trainer's ears twitched from one direction to the other, searching for their voices or footsteps.

<Hmm,> muttered the green Trapinch as the rest of his comrades followed behind him. He was subtly commenting on how confused Elicia looked as they returned from a short little hunt. Was his perception on how dependant humans were on other forces correct? Maybe so. Sometimes, it had seemed that she was desperately waiting for a miracle just to get to from one difficult part of a journey to the next aggravating part. He almost felt bad that it was time for them to leave her and her Gible on their own. <We’re over here,> he called, directing their looks to the Trapinches. <We were, uh, taking a little break... Are you two going to be alright from here on? Even we don’t know what’s out there.> But we sure do know what to do in a crisis, thought the Trapinch, a bit smugly.

"Ah!" Elicia's head turned immediatly towards the voices of the group.
"Er, yeah, I think we'll be fine from here on out. Ares is pretty strong... even... if he didn't really gain that many levels in the desert... um..." She glanced at her pokemon with a concerned look on her face. But he merely shook his head.
<Don't be so negative,> He scoffed, then turned to the other pokemon. <Really, I believe we'll be fine. Thanks for helping us, and, uh, see you around.>

The Trapinch stared at them for a second, reviewing their short little journey together. Did we just go all this way for nothing? What a waste of time. <Yes, see you around too.> And with that, the Shiny Trapinch turned around and scuttled off, signaling for the rest of his family to follow as well. The other Trapinches were not very much like their brother, who behind his leadership skills just had a big ego and believed his judgement was always right. The rest were a bit kinder, so when they began to leave as well, they looked back, feeling an emotion they couldn't quite put their finger on- but a feeling nonetheless. They stared solemnly at Elicia and Ares, then turned and followed their brother.
This left the duo in silence, excluding the constant calls of nature between the forest life.

Ares stared after the trapinch quartet in thought, before turning to his trainer. It appeared she was thinking the same thing he was. <Perhaps we shouldn't have dismissed them so quickly, hm?>
Elicia was quiet for a moment longer. When she finally replied, she said, "Don't be silly. They'd be better off in the desert- it's their home, after all. I'm sure we could come back one day to visit them, after we've finished journeying, of course. Come on, then."
At that, she began to stride off into the forest, Ares following close behind on his stubby legs, trying his best to keep up. <But you do know it's easier traveling with a bigger team, right? It'd make battles a whole lot easier, and different pokemon have different abilities... some day you may come across an obsticle you and I cannot get through alone...>
Ignoring her Gible's advice, Elicia's large ears were now tuned into the forest sounds around them. I'll bet there are plenty of places to explore here. the morph told herself. But Ares'd probably just bug me for not staying on the path...

<Ixoous me! Yuhuhuhuh!> The gruffy voice was followed by a sharp push to Elicia’s leg as a Pokemon tried to pass her. An extremely hairy Bidoof walked directly behind her, slapping her legs as much as he could in order to get in front of her, instead of merely going around her. It couldn't be seen from under all his fur, but the Plump Mouse Pokemon was glaring at her back. <Mou-uhuh-uve!>

"Wuh...!
Elicia gasped as she nearly fell to the ground, an unknown somebody pushing agains the back of her legs. But the morph quickly regained balance, and whipped around to glare at the pushy pokemon.
At first, she'd thought it would have been somebody bigger. Surprise flickered across her face breifly, as she saw nobody at eye level. It was then she looked down, her glare returning.
"Well, excuse you!" She huffed, aggitated. This was one stubborn pokemon. Perhaps a bit wrong in the head, too. Had he not realised there was more then enough space on the trail for him to simply walk around?
Ares glanced from Elicia, to the furry Bidoof, and back to his trainer. A frown pulled at his scaley lips. <Not to intrude, but is there really someplace you need to be in such a hurry that you nearly knock somebody down?> The land shark inquired. He stepped closer to the other pokemon carefully. his trainer stood above him, clearly still annoyed, but not saying a word.

The Bidoof snorted in a smug manner, ignoring the truth in his sentence. <Herm, well itsa simpuhl thang.> He cleared his throat loudly. <Ever'day, Ay start a' Point A, an' Ay make mah way ta Point Bay. Ay need ta get thurr zuhactly tha way Ay do ever'day, step ba step. Yer in mah way, that's wuht Am implyin'.> The beaver stood with an impatient stare. <Sah... Moov.>

The Luxray girl raised an eyebrow.
"Ever'day, huh?" She smirked back, copying his accent almost perfectly. "It sounds to me somebody needs a change of pace. If I did the same thing every day, I'd undoubtebly get sick of it... I think it would only make people cranky."
She then shrugged, and stepped out of the way. "But if that's the way you wanna live your life, who am I to say anything? Go right ahead." She flashed a smile, ignoring her pokemon's curious glances. "I mean, it's your choice if you don't wanna ever accomplish anything. I'm sure you're happy without a life." Still grinning politely, she gestured for him to walk on.

<Heeerrrrrrrrmmmm..hackcoughhurrhurr.> The Bidoof made a curious, intrigued sound at first, but tried to hide it as simply clearing his throat. The stubborn little creature would not let it through. <Thazz called "bein' radicuhl", an' it's nawt fer me.> He began walking foward with distinction where Elicia had once stood, convincing himself he was glad for following his everyday pattern. Yus, Ay yam glad. Glad, glad, glad. He kept turning his head towards the girl as he strut farther and farther away, grinning back and showing he was happy.
But his doubt grew larger and larger as well. Farther down on the path, where the Luxray girl and her Gible could not see him, his feet stopped without thinking. He just sorta stood there, staring at the ground blankly, her words still floating around his head.
<Erm. maybay Ay'ull tayk uh turn hurr..> he mumbled to himself, and he turned right into the trees, right out of view.

Elicia watched the little pokemon walk away sceptically. He's trying to look happy... but he still hasn't changed his mind, it looks like. I suppose I'm just meddling in everyone's affairs today. The trapinch, that bidoof... if I can't make friends with pokemon, how'm I ever gonna make friends with people? She stared into space for a moment longer, before forgetting about it completely. "Well, there goes another one. C'mon Ares, let's go." The luxray girl shrugged her pack higher up her shoulder, watching the Gible expectantly. Her pokemon stared back at her, before mumbling, <Right. Let's go.>What he hadn't told her was that he could sense her dissapointment, but this girl was a tough one. Already, it seemed, she got over it. But that still didn't change the fact that they were completely alone. Either they needed to find a pokemon willing to join their team, (without having Elicia chase them off,) or find one that was willing to battle.

<Arrrrhurrhurrhurr!> The anguished, distinguishable cry of the strange sounding Bidoof rang through the air. A moment later, the long-haired creature appeared, dashing with twigs and foliage stuck in his fur at a alarmingly fast rate. He seemed to be hot in pursuit by someone; and his pursuiter did show up, right behind his tail hairs. A hostile Nuzleaf was heading straight for him, eyes blazing with instinctive duty to remove the invader from his territory. He whipped his head, causing the leaf protuding from it swing off and swoop towards him like a razor. It hit the Bidoof right behind the shoulder blades, making him topple over with a squeal. <Yeeahh!> cried a Seedot happily. It was right behind the Nuzleaf, trying to keep up in the chase with its tiny feet.
This all happened right in front of Elicia and Ares.

As she walked down the road, the trainer's oversized ears twitched, and a odd look crossed her face.
"You hear that? There's somebody running this way..." She commented, and though Ares was right at her feet, it seemed more like she was talking to herself. He cocked his head, and listened closely. But before he could comment, Something burst out of the trees.
Both trainer and pokemon were, by now, a bit used to these constant surprises. At every turn, there seemed to be yet another pokemon. A spark of hope fluttered in Elicia as she realised who it was.
"You agai-" She started, but was cut off when she noticed the look of fear on the little Bidoof's face. And she soon realised why. When she first got a glimpse of the nuzleaf, she knew it was a pokemon she'd never seen before. Nonetheless, it looked rather cool, albeit a bully. Or perhaps just protecting itself or it's territory, perhaps the other little pokemon following along behind.
As soon as the Bidoof was struck down, Elicia jumped into action. "Ares! Tackle that bully!" She commanded, and Ares leaped forward to smash into the Nuzleaf.

The Nuzleaf wasn't looking at the Gible as it leapt to Tackle at him. It was readying itself for any offensive moves from the Bidoof by straining on its body, his bronze skin hardening itself defensively. It sensed the midget shark too late, nearly losing its balance as Ares thick blubber weighed on him. His legs would not lose its gripping on the ground, though. Grunting angrily, the Nuzleaf tried to knock the Gible off of him by thrusting him with a Pound. The Seedot whooped and hollered for his efforts, calling <Yeah! Go Imamu!> to the evolved version of its species. It didn't bother to watch the panting Bidoof, who know was putting a pathetic amount of effort to get back on its feet.

The land shark was hit right in the forehead, and was shoved off the Nuzleaf in surprise. Landing on the ground heavily, the air whooshed out of him, and he had to take a quick moment to regain his breath.
His trainer watched him helplessly as he struggled to stabelize himself. "C'mon, Ares! Get up!" Was the best she could do, but she knew this battle would be a whole lot tougher then the one with the trapinch. Her concentration was scattered, but when something moved in the corner of her vision, she turned her attention towards the Bidoof on the ground who was trying desperately to get up.
Not wanting to get swiped by the nuzleaf's vicious razor leaf, the girl hesitated at first. At the moment, it seemed preocupied with her pokemon, and she guessed that the smaller one was not fast nor strong enough to prevent her from doing anything. She made sure the larger pokemon was completely distracted, before swooping in and grabbing up the plump mouse.
"You've got yourself into a bind, haven't you?" She growled lowly. "I can't help but wonder if it's because you took my advice..." She sighed, shaking her head and watching the battle closely. It was only now she realised she was dangerously close to the sparring pokemon. Keeping a tight hold on the Bidoof in her arms, as she somehow knew that he'd try to escape, she didn't want any more problems popping up.
