Thump, thump. The beating continued, and now with a harsh cut on the glass, the defense started to wear. Now whenever the window was hit, it splintered forward, obviously breaking apart. Sooner than anyone wanted it to be, the pieces that barely kept the invaders out fell apart, revealing another pack of angry, vicious Spinarok, but this time there seemed to be more Aridos than the prevolved form. They looked scarier and stronger than the first fleet Sulteron and Cioux had fought, foaming dribbling out of their fuzzy mouth and beady eyes staring in anticipation.
But when it looked like they were just about to attack, a force from the side blew over. This was in a literal sense, as the spiders began to tilt sideways, most toppling out of view. The Spinarok in front turned its attention from the room to the new force defying them. A rapid beat of wings could be heard from the outside as the bug tried to face the oncoming wings. A voice from outside gurgled, “Ruunnn!!” and a blur of orange and black bowled the Spinarok over. The spider pack was subdued for now, giving the pair inside the cabin a chance to make their next move.

Sulteron fought hard to stop herself from screaming as the flow of Spinerak and Ariados streamed in, stronger than the last few, all looking offensive and very angry. Alice did scream, for she was not the bravest of Pokémon, and cowered behind her trainer, shaking in fear. Abe strained to fight the enemies, but his other head felt it would be best to scarper, resulting in the Doduo falling to the ground. Fayo and Chia stood in front of their trainer, Chia's flame a large green flare, Fayo's muzzle curved into a vicious snarl. These two were prepared to defend Sulteron, and she felt deeply proud of them.
Then, a shout of 'run!' It made Sulteron turn, but then pause, with second thoughts. No, she would not run. She would help out this mysterious winged orange and black Pokémon. She couldn't leave him or her to be hurt. After all, five were better than just one, right? And if the Riolu joined the fight, too, that would make six of them, all fighting together. She called into the gloom. "I will not flee! I will fight the Bug types with you! Chia, Overheat! When he's done, Abe, George, don't fight with each other for once and use Peck! Alice, Bite! Fayo and Chia, Tackle! It doesn't matter what bugs you hit, just fight! We can do this!" she called. She could hardly let the stranger fight by itself, could she? It wouldn't be fair... it wouldn't be right. She didn't know how it would fare, what level it was at. Chia hopped forwards to the centre of the Spinerak and Ariados, back flame blaring up high. The others readied themselves to dive in with him when the attack finished and it would be all right for them to enter again.

Cioux hesitated. This was scary, much scarier then he'd ever immagined bug pokemon to be. Though it seemed that they now had an accomplice... a tough one, at that. Did they just yell to run?
It didn't seem like it- Sulteron was doing quite the opposite. She and her pokemon dove right into battle. I wish the others were here to help... he told himself quietly, grimmacing at the thought of battling these monster spiders. I wish, I wish...
Making his decision, Cioux remained in his safe place on the chair. And did he ever feel like a coward. But he'd had quite enough battling for one day, and was begining to feel a little sick at the sight of all the creepy crawlies, with jittering legs and bright eyes.

Four Ariados and two Spinarok were able to escape the wild winds, climbing into the cabin as fast as they could. With their only objective of getting away, the spiders collapsed on the floor, confused for a second. But they quickly regained their balance and put their attention to their real cause: dealing with the pests. With a larger number of Ariados, the battle would prove to be hard even with the Fire-type. Recognizing the danger of the Cyndaquil, they stayed ever so cautious, ready to dodge if needed. Chia let out a Overheat; all the Ariados miraculously avoided it by leaping onto the walls. This was only done, though, by boosting themselves off the Spinarak; both were claimed by the flames. Chia gains a level! The Ariados slid back to the ground from their webbing. Now they knew who had to go first. All at the same time, the large red spiders rushed towards Chia. Some were jostled by Alice and the Doduo's attacks and fell behind, but two still were able to leap at the Cyndaquil with a mighty Bug Bite.
The voice from before could be heard with a terrified scream; but now there were new accompanying grunts and words, much different than the noises the spiders were making. "Heeeyah! Rah!" One was very masculine, the other as shrill as a baby.. yet still male.

Sulteron found it extremely hard to concentrate. There were so many opponents, and her Pokémon were getting weak. She had an empty Pokéball in her hand, with the intention of catching one of the fainted Ariados. It was hard to take aim. Also, there was a third factor; the mysterious Pokémon. She knew they were on her side, but she wasn't sure what they exactly were other than that they were male. Thinking fast, she threw the Pokéball in the direction of the two defeated spiders, and, not waiting to see whether it caught an Ariados, Spinerak or nothing at all, turned to the more important matter of the battle. Chia had been hit by one of the Bug Bites, and she could see that slowly her Pokémon were being seperated. "Chia, Alice, George and Abe, Fayo, stick together! Protect each other and the Riolu, too, if you can!" she called.
Chia instantly found Fayo at his side. The emerald green Cyndaquil and the Flareon exchanged grins as Alice and the boys came over and they fought their way through to Cioux. Chia attepted an Overheat while Fayo used Tackle, Alice used Bite and Abe and George, actually working together for once, used Peck on two different Bug Pokémon at once. They knew they wouldn't be able to defeat all of them, but hopefully with the strangers' help they would scrape through. The group of Sulteron's Pokémon headed for the strangers, partly curious to see what they were and partly wanting to stand stronger; after all, as the spiders had proven, there was safety in numbers.

"Protect each other and the Riolu, too, if you can!"
Cioux remained on the chair, hopping from foot to foot nervously. Did that mean... shouldn't he help out to? He wanted more than anything to help out, but... he couldn't help but feel scared. He continued dancing about atop the chair, unsure.
I... I need to battle, and help out my new friends... but it's so scary... No. I will help. Urk...
Suddenly the Riolu leaped down to the ground, doing his best to avoid the Spinerak. Plowing through the crowd, he weaved through the spiders to the other pokemon, standing behind them as they each began to attack. Without a word, he charged at the nearest spider with another quick attack.

The pokeball flew through the air, it's target umidebtifiable in the mess of spiders. It looked like it was heading for the freshly beaten Spinarak, but a Ariados suddenly leaped in the way before even noticing the pokeball. It screeched as it was sucked up, but it only lasted one shake inside. Frightened, his energy was boosted and he flew out of the pokeball with a rampant Bug Bite. That Ariados was quickly slapped in the jaw by the Riolu.
What the Aridos had been planning to do had been slowed down by the opponent's line of fire. They leaped off of the Spinarak's bodies again, barely dodging the fire again. Their feet had been baked, and the Spiders looked pained and clumsy as they lowered down on the ground again. They separated to fight each oncoming attack, none of them quick enough anymore to dodge them. Their burns had stripped them of their speed.
The Ariados looked miserable now as they glanced at each other. Who thought t was smart to fight when a fire type was around? The question went unanswered, though, and they nodded their heads at each other. All the Ariados-some looking weaker than the others- clambered back together as a group. They spun around and let loose a collabrative effort of a String Shot, hoping to slow down their opponents for an easier battle.
Outside, the battle cries and grunts had stopped. Feet pounding on the ground sounded louder and louder, and through the splintered glass small pale feet stood right in front of it.. Though not facing the window. <Ohmigod Rawnie! Hang in there!> squeaked the high-pitched voice. By the sounds of it, they seemed momentarily distracted from the battle inside.

Sulteron caught the empty Pokéball as it was knocked off course then failed to catch an Ariados. Maybe if all the still fighting Pokémon were gone, she'd be able to catch a spider. As for now, she could see the Bug types were going for the same tactic she was; safety in numbers. And String Shot, multiplied by... Arceus knew how many Pokémon. Chia and Fayo used fire to burn themselves free, but Abe and George and Alice remained tightly bound. The Doduo began to quarrel again, arguing over who's fault this predicament was. Sulteron could see that everyone was tired, and this would only go downhill.
Suddenly, Sulteron's attension was drawn elsewhere. The cries of battle outside had stopped, meaning perhaps someone had one. Then came that high male voice again.
<Ohmigod Rawnie! Hang in there!>
Sulteron knew that this couldn't be good. No sounds of battle meant the fight was over; someone was defeated. The 'Ohmigod' meant it must have ended in a bad way for this Rawnie Pokémon. Sulteron had no idea who or what Rawnie and the others were, but she knew for one that they might need help. And the spiders were in a cluster, leaving the way free... she motioned to her Pokémon. "Chia and Fayo, help the others get free. I think we should postpone our fight against the Ariados; it sounds as though something's going on over here." she told them, walking over to the window. Her Pokémon obeyed, Chia hopping onto her shoulder as they gingerly peered out the window. What would they see out the window? What was making the high pitched voice? Who was Rawnie? Those questions were about to be answered...

<Omigawd Rawnie, Hang in there!>
Rawnie? Where had he heard that before... Rawnie...? He had no time to think about that now. Now, it was time to keep battling. He leaped about, trying to avoid the other spiders, but it seemed as if they weren't after him. Instead, they were clustering together. How odd.
He soon found out why- a multiple string attack, that he had no way of dodging. He attempted leaping away, but his feet were wrapped, as well as paws- he fell to the ground, stuck and struggling.
And, oddly enough, it was only now he remembered just who Rawnie was. He'd only seen her for perhaps a minute, but she left an impact- for he never knew there could ever have been a pokemon like her. The species name escaped him, though, as did the reason she was so... unique.

A small scene could be seen as Sulteron stared out the window. Barely a foot away from her face, a pale Machop stood stiffly as it stared at a crumpled, winged creature. Under the blood that dripped from a cut above the eye, the unmistakeable eyebrows accompanied with it's crumpled but still in tact orange-and-yellow wings made it clear that it was a Mothim. Clearly unconcious, it was curled up in a jumbled. <She's still alive,> croaked the Machop, it's weak voice matching the deathly color of it's skin. It wasn't the same voice as before, and a third accomplice wasn't shown. The view was cut off at the Machop's neck. <Fine,> replied the familar squeaky voice solemnly, but then Raised an octave. <Hey! What's that smell?Smells like..> Without warning a head dangled upside down in front of Sulteron.
It had a small brown head with small but wide eyes, one a docile blue and one a menacing red. It was a Sentret, but not too similar to the normal ones. It had a metal plate on it's forhead with symmetrical slits in it, the same as Houndours had. Unlike normal Sentrets, its black ears were cropped like a Doberman. It's teeth poked through it's lips, and since the glass was broken and Sulteron was so close, she could feel it's hot breath as it let out a gasp.
<...Human!> it said, sounding terrifed. Then it had a complete change of mind, narrowing it's eyes and hissing, <Human! I'll kill it!> before leaping off the Machop and shooting through the glass, teeth bared.

Sulteron gasped in horror at the sight of the poor injured Mothim. She had to help it! Just as she was preparing to climb out the window, however, she found herself face-to-face with a terrifying, snarling Sentret. It was like none she'd ever seen before. It was almost like it'd used one of those scale things, only something had gone horribly wrong. That or it'd been in a laboratory with a Houndour when it exploded. She took a step back at the death threat. Alice, who was in fact rather cowardly, squealed in fright and took shelter behind Sulteron. Abe and George hissed at Sentret, while Fayo and Chia studied it with interest. Chia was the first to speak. ~Woah, take a chill pill, dude. Sulteron isn't evil or anything.~ he said.
Fayo nodded. ~Here's a few reasons not to kill her; one, she's good, two, she wants to help poor Rawnie, and three, she's not even a human.~ he counted them off on the tiny fingers on his front paws. Sulteron smiled. "Yeah; I'm a Pokémorph. Half Pokémon. If you want a battle, I'll give you one, and you'll loose. However, I suggest you let me help Rawnie. Please, Sentret. I can take her to a doctor. A doctor for Pokémon who can make her better than ever. You can even come with me to make sure I'm not tricking you if you want! Just let me help. Trust me. Rawnie's life could depend on it. Let me help, and tell me exactly what happened." she told Sentret, honestly clear in her lilac eyes. Her Pokémon nodded in agreement. Well, except Alice; she was trying to find the Riolu so he could help them with Rawnie, too.

As Cioux heard the shattering of glass, he struggled violently, before finally the sticky thread inding him broke free. He clumsily got back up, and looked around wildly- what just happened.
Instead, he spotted a round, orange head. That was one of Sulteron's pokemon, wasn't it? Her name was Alice...
He boundedover to her, threads of spinerak string still dangling from his sensors, wrists, and around his torso. <A-Alice! What's going on... where are the others?> He panted, out of breath. Perhaps they'd found Rawnie?
But... if they did, Rawnie wasn't the only one out there. There were more pokemon, he'd heard them. But, when he'd met the bug-type, there wasn't anyone else... how'd she even get here in the first place?

The Sentret was paused a small distance from Sulteron's face as she talk, trying to claw her face but coming up short. The Machop's hand was firmly gripped on it's tail, keeping it from tearing up the trainer's head. <No, Schizo, stop.> he called, barely able to raise his voice. It didn't sound like he could. <She sounds like she wants to help. The other pokemon say so too.> The Sentret scoffed and sneered at what he said, but calmed down. <We can't keep this up on our own. We only escaped because of Tom, and now he's gone,> he added. The Sentret relectantly agreed.
The Araidos, momentarily breaking to support their weakest comrade, saw the perfect opportunity to attack while the opponents were caught off guard. As the Machop lectured Schizo, the Ariados crept up slowly on Sulteron. They couldn't hide from the Sentret 's though. <Wha... Spiders!> The Sentret's eyes were wide with fear. With the Machop's hold loosened, the Sentret's tail slipped out of his fingers and sent the brown ball of fur crashing to the ground.
It got up in a panic, staring timidly as the spiders hissed and spat at the Sentret. The Machop crawled through the hole, trying to follow his comrade, but stood still as to not alert the Ariadoses. He would only watch; he knew his friend could deal with this. Schizo was now on his feet, his breathing very shallow as it stepped back from the menacing spiders. Any time now, one of them would lunge- and when one did, the Sentret flipped out. Schizo let out a screech, but when he did a ball of fire escaped his lips. It struck the Ariados, scrambling around as it's head lit on fire. The others, completely perplexed, did not see the Machop charging right at them. It picked up the flaming spider, rammed it against a wall and gave it a uppercut to it's head that landed with a sickening thud. The Ariados slumped in his arms, out cold.
The Ariados looked terrifed as he turned around to catch them too. The Sentret leaped onto his head, curling up until it looked like the Machop was wearing a coon hat. The Fighting type ran like a tank, taking bug Bites like nothing happened. Every once in a while, Schizo peeped out and sent an Ember, but otherwise he seemed too frightened to help.

Sulteron was glad that the wild Pokémon had agreed that she would help them, but there was something confusing her. How was Schizo the Sentret using Ember? Sentret couldn't learn that; not through TM, not through egg moves! The Epseon 'morph was pretty amazed and thrilled by this Pokémon. She wished that he were on her team. He seemed quite frightened by all the Ariados while his friend, Machop, ploughed through them. She looked to her Pokémon, ready to take action. "Right! Chia, help Machop with the Ariados with your Overheat TM move! Abe and George, make sure Schizo the Sentret is all right; he looks quite frightened. Fayo, Alice, and Cioux if you want, let's go see what's up with Rawnie." she called. Unsure whether the Riolu wanted to help or not, she left him the option. Abe and George started a friendly conversation with Schizo, trying to gain his trust and calm his nerves. Chia screamed a battle cry as he ran in to Machop, back flame blazing. Fayo and Alice leapt through the window.
Sulteron followed the Trapinch and Flareon, she crouched down next to the fainted Mothim, eximining it. What was it's condition? How urgently did it need treatment?
Chia grinned at Machop. ~I wanna fight. Look, I know Overheat!~ he said proudly, demonstrating the move on a nearby Ariados.
Abe and George smiled at Schizo- or as much as you can smile with a beck. ~Heya, Schizo. That's your name, right? I'm George-~ George began. ~-and I'm Abe. What happened to poor Rawnie? And who's Tom?~ Abe picked up, wondering out of curiousity all these details.

Cioux followed Fayo and Alice, as Sulteron recomended, throught the window. As he leaped out to the other side, he nearly stumbled on the landing, but managed to regain his balance. He looked to see sulteron had come out as well, and made his way to the sad heap that was poor Rawnie.
As soon as he got a good look at her wings, he could suddenly remember- she was a female mothim. That was it... a pokemon that is primarily a male, but now a different gender. How on earth did that happen? He recalled the twins saying something about it when they first entered the forest. Something about an experiment?
Nonetheless, he trotted after Sulteron, hiding shyly behind her legs. When he was sure that the pokemon was truely fainted, he circled around and bent down right next to Rawnie, curious.
<So, uh... what should we do? I-I don't think I could figure out a way to help...>
