She deadpanned a little at how the Spearow....Hopped at her. It was, in all actuality, a lot more terrifying than the bird Pokemon flying down at her. A lot. Not that she would have been able to dodge anyway, Lotad's were simply not built for speed. Not on land anyway. 'Oh.' she could have facepalmed herself. Of course, she should be in the water for- Peck! she winced and cried out, trying to scuttle away from the bird and towards the water; where she would be able to scoot around faster. She cast a glance over her should and used Nature Power again, hoping to nail the Spearow with more water.

The Spearow was expecting it this time, and was already booking it away from the water the instant his beak struck home. With a resonating screech, he shot a Leer at the Pokemon who was clearly hiding in the water. <Coward,> He cawed to her, <You should probably reconsider using the same attack four times in a row. Makes it so easy to predict.> As he spoke, he shook his wings again, feeling like most of the water was off by this point.
Dmitriy was smug, arms crossed. <Make sure you raise your stats and avoid hits until you're in the air.> He cautioned, <I don't see you swimming as well as she can.>

If she had had a more diverse movepool, she might have been able to use more moves. ~Whatever, you keep using Peck. If it's not broken, there's no need to fix it!~ she replied, though her eyes were narrowed. She bopped in the water, and stuck her tongue out. At least if she was here, he couldn't attack her with anything close- not until he was dry again. Or dry enough to take flight at least. She glowed green again, trying to claw back some of her health while she was- relatively- safe.

Dmitriy and Bane rolled their eyes together, crossing their arms. Absorb was such an annoying move... There was nothing quite as infuriating as fighting something that repeatedly healed itself, even if the attack wouldn't be very effective against his Spearow.
"If you can't fly, make sure to use another sta-" The bird was already in the air, flying low because of the strain it took to get airborne in the first place. There really was no need to fly high when all you were going to do was dive down. And dive down he did, beak sharply pointed at his opponent.

Pleased with her idea to get in the water, she went to drift out of the way - but realized her new problem. With both of them more mobile the battle would get endless. Making a split second decision (in her eyes, anyway) she stood her ground; but used Nature Power. Hopefully both moves would collide. If she was lucky.

As soon as he saw the move rushing towards him, he realized he wouldn't be able to avoid it. Changing his tactic midway, he continued to dive at it, increasing speed until he was almost reflective. When he zipped through it, the Mirror Move sprayed the water back at the Lotad with just as much force as it had struck him.
"Nice!" Dmitriy called up to him, offering a thumbs up as a reward. Bane offered the same, beaming.
He cawed happily, thankful that the water had rushed off hm this time instead of soaking back into his feathers.

The Lotad might have been able to avoid the hit, if she hadn't of been struck with extreme surprise. What kind of cheap move was that? She watched as her moved seemed to coil around the bird, and then surge back at her. Her move. Her move. It hit her full force, and she was flipped over and knocked out cold - floating in the water upside-down.

Bane was slightly disappointed that she hadn't been the one to gain the experience, watching as Tor cawed and did a swirl in the air before diving back to them. She needed to beat Tak, and right now it looked like an inevitable defeat. She huffed, but said nothing as she rested her head on Dmitriy's shoulder.
Not noticing her disappointment, Dmitriy beamed at his Spearow for a job well done. "Nice work Tor, return!" He summoned back his Pokemon, knowing both his and Bane's patience ran dry when the bird-type wasn't occupied with battle.
He took a step forward and, feeling a little bad at leaving the Pokemon still floating belly up, he considered putting it back where it'd been sitting when he first came. However, deciding it was part water type, he would leave it there. Maybe it was better for it to be in the water.
"So... Where were we?" He asked the Surskit, grinning. Part of him wondered if the battle wasn't a scary thing to Wild Pokemon. But then again, Karma hadn't left yet, and she's seen her fair share of them so far. At least, he thought she had.

Tor has can +1 Level!
Watching the beam reclaim the gutsy bird Pokemon, the two Surskit blinked and looked back at Dmitriy with bland expressions. They seemed as though they'd forgotten all about 'where they were at' and so opted for, ~Wow, nice job!~ Not that the Lotad was a notorious battler that swam around in tyranny or anything (but the Surskit pair sure did find her annoying). They gave each other little high fives with their front legs and then proceeded with a follow-up (in unison), ~Where did that bird go anyway?~
The rest of the spring was quiet now, any Pokemon by the edges had scattered back into the woods and many of the fish Pokemon had dived deeper below the surface- to what they hoped would be safety. The only ripples in the pool were the ones the Surskits made in their excitement; and the only sounds were the soft snoring from the slumbering Scyther.

Dmitriy beamed under their praise, feeling a slight hint of cockiness, as if it had been him fighting that battle instead of his rambunctious Spearow. He put the Pokeball on his waist and shrugged as a response. "I dunno what Pokeballs are like. I'd assume they're like... round rooms Pokemon hang out in until trainers send them out.” As he said it, he wondered how boring it was to be in the room or whatever. He’d imagine at least one of his Pokemon would complain if it was horrible.
“It’s where we put Pokemon when we capture them. Like, if I wanted to, I could probably capture this Lotad since he’s knocked out.” He gestured to the Pokemon, still floating on the top of the water. He wanted to specify this, so that they didn’t just assume he wanted to catch them with whatever sorcery was involved in doing so. He actually liked these guys. [/center]

Both Surskits looked at eachother, then back at the "Poke'ball" in question. It didn't look big enough to hold...Much of anything, let alone a whole Pokemon. Maybe a Berry, but surely not a Spearow. Both Bug-types also doubted that a Poke'ball would hold either of them. They both tilted their bodies with this information, and then shifted their view to the floating Lotad (who was attracting the renewed attention of a small school of Remoraids), then blinked at Dmitriy. This was obviously some kind of magic. ~What?~ they spoke in unison again, incredulous at this information.

"You could always see, I guess." He offered, though as soon as he said it he hoped it didn't sound like an attempt to lure them into his possession. "It only permanently traps weakened Pokemon, but you two both have energy enough I'm sure to escape it." As he said this, he gestured to the Lotad who was still floating in the water. "Like this guy wouldn't sta-"
He froze, staring down at the Pokemon. "What are they doing to it?" He asked, getting on his knees to try and reach over the water's surface to drag the knocked out Pokemon towards him.

The Surskit pair considered this; the Pokemon Dmitriy had been using certainly hadn't been complaining about the lodgings...But then the small orange Lizard and the flaming horse were not in Poke'balls. It was something they were both exceedingly curious - and as they were about to consent to giving it the good ol' college try - the Trainer's attention was torn to the Remoraid. The Remoraid continued to swarm the fallen Lotad, and as Dmitriy's shadow crossed over them - one brave silver fish turned around and shot a Water Gun at him. The rest darted away, and then back, keeping wary eyes on the Trainer as they needed.

The move caught him off guard, splashing water across his front. "Hey!" He yelled angrily as he jumped back much too late, wiping the water off his chest and face like it was a dozen Joltik rather than pond water. "What the hell was that for?"
He located the bold Remoraid responsible and promptly stuck his tongue out, reaching forward once more to recover the Pokemon from them. It looked a little too much like eating, and regardless of the Lotad's bad attitude, that sort of thing would certainly not happen under his watch.
Bane also ventured over to investigate as well, leaning as close to the water as any Charmander should (a good foot away, at least) and glared at the imposing water types. Just watching Dmitriy get soaked made her cringe.

~Ours~ was all the Remoraid offered, glaring at the hand that was once more reaching for the Lotad. It ducked below the surface again, reappearing a little more to the left and firing another Water Gun at the Trainer. ~Ours!~ the other Remoraid echoed, bubbling around the motionless Lotad. They were beginning to swim around the fallen Pokemon - making it spin, and slowly trying to pull it farther from Dmitriy.
The Surskit, seeing this, hopped out of the water with worried glances between the Remoraid and the trainer. ~I wouldn't mess with them~ they offered, ~They can be pretty scary all together like that~
