"Ebb and Flo, huh? Well aren't you two simply splashing!" He laughed at himself that time, finding the whole situation funnier and funnier as it continued, "My name is Dmitriy, and I am a pokemon trainer. These little drops of sunshine are Bane, and Karma." Pokemon around here probably didn't see many fire-types, so he gestured to each.
At the sound, he located the source and his grin grew. Glancing back at the two spider-like pokemon before him, he leaned forward and whispered, "I wouldn't worry about him. He's not up to scale with how cool we are."

Again, this display of puns caused the Surskits to spin with happiness. So blessed few had played their game (most finding it an abhorring waste of time), and finding someone that played was just as fabulous as the two had thought. Flo giggled, ~It's alright, he gives into pier pressure; and thinks the way we talk is unbearable.~ The Ebb rolled his eyes at the Lotad, ~Yeah. He has no porpoise in life except to sit over there in his corner and mope.~ but then he smiled at Dmitriy, ~It's really nice to meet you though, we dew enjoy meeting new faces.~ he peered at Bane and Karma...And their fire. ~My, my. Most Fire-types shy away from here.~
Karma hoofed the ground nervously at that comment, but she stood firm near Dmitriy. ~Sometimes the Pokemon who live here get a little overly defensive about other Pokemon drinking their house.~ she offered the Trainer, meekly. It caused minor fights at times, it was why the herd was over in the other Route at the time Dmitriy met her.

The targeted looks made Bane uneasy too, and she wondered why Dmitriy didn't feel like it was some kind of subtle threat or something. He really was a bad fire type human, that was for sure. More weak grass types than anything, and making friends with water Pokemon... Sheesh.
"I can imagine it'd be quite stirring, having someone drink your home," He offered sympathetically clearly forgetting he should probably defend his other friends instead, "Do any other interesting pokemon stream through here?"
Bane rolled her eyes, wishing this conversation would end. Dmitriy was getting too buddy buddy with these new Pokemon, and honestly she found them to be quite irritating. She'd rather they spent time with the Lotad who could obviously hear them talking bad about him. She glanced at him, wondering if he actually could. They really weren't that discrete about it.

As the Surskit who called himself Ebb began to reply he was broken off by a very annoyed voice. Apparently not long after he'd been made fun of the Lotad had been making his way around the water. ~Hey!~ he stomped up to them, cheeks puffed out in anger. ~Stop talking like complete idiots and don't talk about me like I'm not right here~ he pointed first to the Surskit pair and then to the trainer, ~And you! Who do you even think you are? You don't even know me!~ it was one thing for people you know to talk about you like you're not there; but someone who didn't even know you talking about you like you're not there was something else entirely.
At this the Surskits skated a little ways away from the Lotad, not that it could ever hope of catching them but it was a little intimidating what with all the pointing and the yelling. They couldn't even think of something to say, so instead they fixed themselves up to look properly annoyed with said pointing yelling.

Dmitriy shrugged like the Pokemon's words were unimportant. "I don't have to know you to know you think how they act is stupid. I could just see it. Technically, you're talking bad about us with your body language." He scolded back, crossing his arms defiantly, "If you really wanted to do something about it, we could battle over my rights to be here, punning it up with Ebb and Flo."
He glanced over at the two Surskits, hoping they felt defended and didn't feel like leaving. He actually liked them... If they left him alone with this stupid lillypad thing, he would attack it regardless of having his challenge accepted.

At this the Lotad was deeply offended, and began to glow a soft white color before a part of the spring was lifted up and splashed Dmitriy in the face. ~You would think a stranger to someone else's home would be less of a jerk and more of a gentleman.~ Both Surskit looked a cross between amused and appreciative. ~Nature Power~ Offered Flo, tilting her body to the side.
But by this time there was another very annoyed Pokemon, one who had been napping in a tree. With a thump he landed on the ground and brandished a blade at the entire party. ~What in the name of the Silver Feather are you all going on about?~ he demanded.

Dmitriy took a step back when he was splashed, angrily rubbing the water away. "You would think a host would be a little nicer to his guests." He snapped back, looking the Pokemon up and down. He was obviously a Grass-type, but if he used Bane... that move he'd just used would probably have a bad type-advantage.
Just as he threw the Pokeball to release Toril, he jumped at the sight of the new arrival. The Spearow he released, who was flapping his wings behind him and eyeing the Lotad threateningly, seemed to think better of attackingl. Dmitriy agreed, frowning at this point.
He puffed his chest out, quickly answering so he wasn't immediately put in a defensive position when the Lotad started throwing accusations. "Well I was looking at this spring here when I saw those two-" he started, gesturing at Flo and Ebb, "And someone," Another gesture, this time at the Lotad, "Had to be rude. We weren't doing anything offensive, unless you hate puns."

~You expended any nice you deserved when you-~ the Lotad was almost hopping in anger when the Scyther landed. She hushed, and looked a little abashed at her outburst; if only for disturbing the Bug-type. And then, at what Dmitriy said, immediately began chattering, ~The puns weren't what I was even-~ but the taller Pokemon waved a wickedly sharp appendage at the lily-pad. ~I don't care who said what.~ he muttered, glaring at the both of them. ~You keep this up and you'll end up calling up that stupid snake, and I don't feel like dealing with her.~ he growled, ~So you'll all shut up or talk in tones that are okay for~ and at this he glared at Ebb, Flo and Dmitriy, ~normal conversations. In normal tones.
~ with that he raised his wings up, and was about to take off, ~ And if you're going to battle- take it back a few feet.~ and then he jumped back up into the tree, settling into his spot.

Dmitriy could feel the sense of inferiority radiating off the other Pokemon, which in turn made him nervous. The Scyther certainly was intimidating... though he'd assume anything with scythes for claws would be intimidating...
He wanted to ask questions. A snake? What snake? He tried to think of any snake Pokemon, but couldn't come up with any off the top of his head (or even if he scratched down to the bottom) and he wasn't prepared to ask. If there was a snake Pokemon, he hoped it came out while he was there so he could challenge that as well. And catch it, hopefully.
All in all, this was Pokemon catching haven. He wanted all of them, to sum it up. Now all he had to do was consider which ones were most important... He had limited Pokeballs. Scyther first, snake second, Surskit or Surskits third and fourth, and then the stupid Lotad. Maybe. He glared at the thing, looking it up and down.
...Maybe not. Actually no. He wouldn't stoop that low. "Alright." He said stiffly, stepping back now as requested, "Let's fight then. Peck!" Tor flitted forward, giving a little call as he did, flying up, and then diving down towards his opponent with his beak glittering.

The Lotad couldn't help but smirk a little at Dmitriy's confusion over what the Scyther said. Of course he wouldn't know anything of the ruler of this spring, The Gorgon Snake. And as she was about to gloat over her knowledge, a sharp pain bloomed in the middle of her lily pad. ~ow!~ turning a renewed glare at the boy and his Pokemon entourage - the Lotad attacked with another Nature Power; calling up a little part of the water to crash into the bird Pokemon.
The two Surskits skated a little closer to the edge of the spring, to get safely out of harm's way. They were interested in the battle, however, and showed no signs of abandoning the trainer.

Tor tried to dive out of the way, but the water landed square on his back. He dipped, trying hard to shake off the liquid before he fell completely out of the sky. Finally his feathers caught wind and he soared back up, letting out a call of <Speeeeaar-> as he did so.
"Don't let him get too much water on you..." Dmitriy mumbled, knowing it didn't really matter if the bird-pokemon heard him or not. It was pretty obvious, anyways. Voice picking up considerably more volume, he threw in, "Peck! It's your best move in this situation. Just be careful!"
Again, the bird-type dipped low, swooping in for another hit.

The Lotad grumbled as the Peck made direct contact, again. It wasn't like she could be very nimble - the lily pad on her back was great for ferrying smaller Pokemon across the spring for fun - but it was pretty cumbersome to have during a battle. With a growl she shook herself off, as though that would shake the pain away, and used Nature Power once more; watching the water from the spring gush up and head towards the bird Pokemon again.

This time the water rushed under his feathers, and Tor fell to the ground. He stumbled to his feet, blinking away mud and dirt. Shaking his wings violently to try and rid the liquid, he glared at the Lotad.
<I can still Peck, you know.> He said quietly, but he still backed away, producing a Growl instead. It still scared him not being able to fly, because he was obviously not as agile on the ground. He continued to flap his wings and fluff out his feathers in an attempt to dry them. At least his only move wasn't Wing Attack, or something...

The Lotad looked triumphant and grounding her opponent. Honestly, she didn't battle all that often... She just knew that was what you did when you disagreed with someone or, well. Didn't like them. And she didn't like this Trainer. After the Growl, she ruled out using Astonish (which, though she didn't know, wouldn't have worked anyway), she instead thought to get some of her health back by using Absorb. Closing her eyes she glowed a faint green, reaching to leech out some life from her avian foe.

Dmitriy cringed when the green light sapped at some of Toril's life. It felt like he was going backwards now, with the Lotad gaining health. "Hop forward and Peck him!" He demanded, deciding they needed to hurry and knock him out before she sapped too much life back.
The Spearow nodded his head once, hopping forward. The movements weren't as fast as they had been in the air, but they were unpredictable, and he tried to make it difficult to avoid. When he felt close enough, he dove his beak forward, pecking as he would a Caterpie or a Weedle he intended to dine on.
