"Yeah yeah," White chuckled a bit. "But what I meant by they're not equal is that it didn't matter how many times they were used." Deciding not to debate anymore with Novis, he shook the magnet hand as if it was a human hand, nodding. "Nice to meet ya, Novis. I'm White, if you hadn't already figured that out." He paused. "You seem pretty knowledgeable with pokemon, though, I'm impressed. Interested in challenging me when the party's done?" he asked, curious.

Novis tried to hide his surprise. A...challenge? From a Gym Leader? "Thanks, but I don't think I'm ready for it. I only just started out, so I only have my starter Sneasel and two others, Wooper and Makuhita. It's not that I don't trust them, it's just that I wouldn't want them hurt in a battle I doubt I'd win."

"Well, we do things a bit differently here." White stated. "Trainers who have just started out can still challenge me. I've got 10 pokemon I can use in battle, and the first two are the ones I'll use with a trainer who doesn't have any gym badges- they're only level 5 and level 8. So, you'd have a good chance at winning, depending on how much they're trained." he shrugged, grinning. Watching the battle had made him want one, too. Not that he didn't battle enough, or anything.

Kai beamed, nodding, "All of my Pokemon have been with me for a few years now, so. Well. Hehe." he rubbed the back of his head, "We all pretty much work well together. But, uh. Yeah! The Union Tower is why I came here." he beamed at the thought, and then sighed, "Well, I mean. I thought'd be a nice way for trainers to meet eachother - like this, only without the free food and drink part. Hehe." he cast a sideways look at White and Novis, hearing snatches of thier conversation and smiling softly to himself. It felt weird having someone chat about his battle style when he was right here. 'Haha... Man, it has been awhile...' he thought to himself, relaxing. "It's real nice to meet you, by the way..." he added, shaking his head. Delayed reaction, activate!

The Blaziken blinked as Novis abruptly left. "Well, good riddance. Coward." he huffed as someone else stepped forward to challenge Dmitriy. "Awwh." he glanced over, watching a Zangoose and Cacturne have at it, "Whoa." he watched that for a moment, before turning his attention back to Molly and Leah, "Uh. So. Happy Valentines Day!" he grinned, lamely, mind running blank on something else to talk about.

Novis thought about it, and said, "I'll let you know a bit later. For now, let's go rejoin the party."
Novis floated back to the group by the punch bowl as if nothing had happened. He put his cup down on the table again and looked around the Gym purposelessly.

((Not going to try and read all of that.. n-n;))
Dmitriy smiled at the trainer who had accepted his challenge, though he doubted himself when he realized she was probably a gym leader. "Alright. But know before hand that I wasn't expecting a leader." He said, scratching his head, "My pokemon aren't ready for a gym fight. I won't refuse the challenge, though." he grinned. "I'm Dmitriy, by the way." he added quickly. His attempt at socialization.
Vincent grinned at White as he approached, letting the two talk it over about the battle before interrupting with his own statement. "Oh! Yeah, I came to meet you 'cause I've never gotten to travel much before becoming a gym leader myself.. so I wanted to meet a couple. I dunno if others are here, so you were the first I could think of."

"A few years!" Luke repeated, his grey eyes widening. "That's great. I've been with pokemon all my life, but I've only been with my team for a short time now." he smiled sheepishly, his perspective growing a little bit. There really were lots of people here... and this guy started up the Union Tower. That was impressive. "I'll have to come to the Union Tower sometime, then. I've heard all about it already, it sounds like a really great place. And yeah, same to you." he added with a bit of a laugh. He'd also caught on to White and Novis chatting about their battle, and immediately got a little bit self-conscious... but, at least, he couldn't trip over his own feet while he was standing still.
-
Molly blinked as she saw the battle as well, but turned back to Ardeo as she heard him speak. Smiling a little, she nodded. "Yeah, happy Valentines to you too." she said, putting down her empty punch glass. A Nidoking trudged by her and stared at the group of teens for a moment before continuing on.
-
White shrugged, watching Novis float back over to the table, and then looked over at Vincent and smiled. "Yeah, I came to meet you 'cause I've never gotten to travel much before becoming a gym leader myself..." "Oh, you're a gym leader too?" he asked, looking a little confused. "To be honest, I haven't met many of the other gym leaders at all. I... I think I've met the brother of one, or something." he laughed a bit, feeling a little stupid. Were they supposed to all know each other or something? Well, probably, he thought in his head quietly. "Well, I'm White." he said with a grin of his own, holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you, uh...?" he paused, wondering what this guy's name was.

The leader smiled politely, and nodded. She took a few steps back, to give themselves some room. "Well, There's no need to worry about that. I have a system to make sure newer trainers still have a chance to win against me." she said, and she slipped a hand into her bag, choosing carefully, and returned his greeting. "I'm Rin, Peace Village gym leader."
As she rummaged in her bag, looking at each seperate pokeball and thinking carefully, she continued to say- "You know, though I am a gym leader, I haven't had a single trainer challenge me to a battle yet. (Well, except for those who train at my gym, of course.)" Finally making her choice, she held it out in front of her as if presenting it to the opposing trainer. The sphere enlarged in her hands, and already she could feel the rush of a pokemon battle.
"So you'll be the first real challenge I've had in a while!" Rin giggled light-heartedly, and in the same moment a red flash mingled with the other lights in the room. Fluttering right in between Dmitriy and Rin was a small, split-tailed bird, chirping happily in time with Rin's laugh.
"Chose your pokemon, and we'll begin!" Taabi, the little Taillow, chirruped at Dmitriy. Finally, a new trainer.

Dmitriy was slightly disappointed by her pokemon choice. This meant he couldn't use Thea, who he had hoped to fight with since obtaining her. He wasn't a genius when it came to type-advantages, but it was common sense that both bugs and grass were weak against flying. Thea, his Chikorita, happened to be one of the two. Not letting this take away from the thrill of the battle, he released a different one. The Charmander looked around, confused. She had never been in a pokeball for a long time, and coming out of one was such a strange sensation.
He grinned at the pokemon, and gave her a thumbs up before quickly throwing out the first attack of the fight. "Bane, try one of your new moves!" He said quickly, "Iron Tail!" The Charmander nodded, rushing forward. As she ran, her body turned a faint silver and when she approached the bird, she leaped into the air, slicing out with her tail. The limb made a cut through the air with a faint whoosh before she landed, turning sharply to see if her attack had hit.
Vincent grinned, embarrassed. "Sorry! I'm Vincent Veto. Leader of the fire gym in Marble City. It's great to meet you. I gotta say I might be one of the challengers after this party." he grinned, "A little friendly leader to leader competition, right?" In all honesty, he was itching for a fight. From anyone. He hadn't been able to use his fire trio since he'd become leader. "Are we allowed to use more than one after the party, or is it still the one on one rule?"

Taabi, wasn't expecting such a sudden attack. He cartwheeled in the air, flipped head-over tail a few times, and finally plunged to the ground. He was usually the quick one in battles. What made this lizard think she could just up and sack him like that? And a powerfull attack, at that.
The little bird grew annoyed. He ruffled his feathers, attemting to look twice as big and intimidating. He'd show that flaming reptile who's boss.
"It's alright, Taa-chan! Try Focus Energy!"
Taabi obliged, staring at the Charmander intently as he was enveloped in a red glow. For the rest of the battle, he'd have a better chance of a critical hit. Hopefully he could teach this rude pokemon a lesson.

Dmitriy and Bane watched uneasily, not really understanding what the move did. The lizard pokemon turned to her trainer when she felt no pain, not sure what the move did and why she didn't feel it effecting her. <Er.. Okay Bane!> He said, not sure what was happening but going along with it, <Now, use Ember!> The pokemon was eager to attack, feeling uncomfortable in the between attack stage. She lept forward again, similar to the last move, but this time remained on the ground and blew a rush of fire at the opposing pokemon.

The little bird smirked. This time he could see the attack coming. He swooped around the attack with a shrill wistle, being the little show-off that he was. "Tai! Tai!" <You call that an attack? That attack wouldn't light a match!> His trainer sighed. Rin would have to work on his attitude at some point.
But soon Taabi began to regret his gloating. The scent of burning feathers reached his beak, and he looked back for just long enough to see the singing ends of his tail and wings. "Looow~!" <I'm burning!>
"Taa-chan, Quick-Attack!"
Snapping back to his senses, the bird rushed toward Bane, a tail of silver light behiind him.

Bane looked smug as the attack hit, clearly irritated with the other pokemon's insults. She watched as the bird continue flying, feathers singed, and wasn't ready for the sudden Quick Attack. She was hit squarely in the side, and the move sent her sliding across the ground for a foot or two. That move had hurt. She didn't understand why it was so bad. The Charmander got back to her feet as soon as they stopped shaking, and looked back at her trainer for instructions. He shrugged, before a grin crossed his face. "Surprise them then."
The Charmander looked pleased at this. Dmitriy and her had a long conversation as he taught her TM moves about how strange one of them was, since he had assumed only flying could learn flying-typed moves. She faced the bird again, and with an amazing burst of speed rushed forward, making a huge leap as she came close enough and crashing down with an Aerial Ace. Neither her or the trainer had to wonder if the move hit, since it was supposably impossible to dodge.

Savannah was getting bored, which was a fate wore than death in his mind. Dancing was fun, but doing it alone wasn't. He glanced over at a battle going on. It looked far more interesting then simply dancing. If he was out and about he could work off some of his building energy with a few practice swings but here, here he had to act properly. Maybe he could have a battle with someone. He dug around in his bag to see if he could find the invitation. Yes, he could battle with one pokemon. He smiled checked his pack, they were all there. Of course he wasn't sure who to fight, after all, he was still extremely new to training.
He moved closer to the battle and moved in with the gathering viewers. They both seemed better then him and he frowned. Surely there was somebody closer to his ferocity around. That level of ferocity of course being of a kitten with yarn.

Leah noticed the lonely... boy. She stared at him, confused. Was it a girl, or was it a boy? He looked like a boy, but dressed like a girl. Fascinated in a way, she waved a bye to Molly, intending to get her trainer number later. There was something about the girl she really appreciated. With that wave, she faced the strange person who seemed to be alone, and approached him.
She smiled briefly as she approached.
