<Wheeee!> Vincent’s voice faded as he whizzed upward toward the sky and farther away from Imogene, her team and Kallan. Nature buzzed in the early morning as the ensemble marched through Route 1, starlies and pidgeys buzzing in the trees back and forth, Pachirisus briefly flinging themselves onto other trees. Caterpies and Wurmples crawled up trees, timidly peered from behind trees at the trainer. Once, a Spearow nearly fell out of the sky after almost running into a flying Gastly.. Vincent (who was now above the trees) peered down at all the life below him, amazed at how much life lived outside of the stuffy dark house in Tarro Town. No scary overtones, no one running in fear.. There was only peace. Vincent breathed in the earty scent and floated back down to Kallan. ..Who, unlike the Gastly, did not notice his surroundings at all. The Haunter was floating ahead of everyone else, ready to reach the end of the path. He wanted to be in his familiar home of Tarro Town. Kallan knew he wasn’t supposed to anticipate their arrival- they would be leaving there again, to head back out on the road. But there was something in the back of his mind that couldn’t wait to get back to the Haunted Mansion. Kallan sighed and stared at the green foliage as he continued to glide forward, closer and closer to his address..

Imogene was walking in the back, holding onto her new egg carefully; she could let it rest inside her bag, but she liked holding it more for now. She doubted it would hatch anytime too soon, anyways...it would take a bit more of her journey for the pokemon inside to reveal itself. K was skipping along between her and Kallan up ahead, and she watched Vincent in amusement as he whirled up into the sky and back down again, happy that he was enjoying himself, at least. Her mind wondered faintly whether or not anyone lived in Tarro...it was supposed to be a ghost town, wasn't it? Or was that just because ghost pokemon lived there too? Either way, it would be eery. It wasn't like Imogene was afraid of ghost pokemon, but when it came to ghosts in general, she had a minor paranoia...

While scanning through the buzzing wildlife below him, he noticed something . . unusual. Vincent had visited the outside a few timesbefore, and he knew what was usually down in there, the long green things and the flying pecky things and such.. But what was he looking at right now? It was yellow and spikey and just, well. Strange. The little paranormal Pokemon soared down to get a better look at it . . It would bother him for a long time if he never could find out what it was. If anything, Vincent hoped whatever he discovered, it would be friendly . .
Minutes passed as Kallan realized there were no signs of a Gastly anywhere. . . Where the heck did he go? The haunter wondered if he was pulling a trick on him, but . . This was Vincent, not the average trouble makers back at home. And he wouldn’t just wander off for a while, it was just so odd. As he prepared to look for his best friend, a shriek from deep within the trees pierced the air, and Kallan knew exactly whose it belonged to. <Vincent!> he called in shock, quickening his pace towards where it seemed to come from. He half expected the human behind him to follow, but on the other hand.. She could just get in the way.

Imogene had noticed the disappearance of Vincent; she was waiting for him to come out and scare Kallan as some sort of a friendly joke, but when she heard the squeal, she panicked. That...didn't sound quite right... Imogene blinked as she saw Kallan move faster up ahead to where it was coming from- K blinked and turned to look back at Imogene, who had started up into a jog to follow the Haunter. "Come on, K." she said to the Elekid, who nodded eagerly and followed Imogene quickly.

Kallan searched through the woods with Imogene behind, although the Haunter had the advantage of passing right through every tree. <Vincent? Vincent!> he cried out, pausing to listen for an answer. As nothing came in a few short seconds, he continued on, not bothering to wait for Imo and K. If they fell behind, well . . Kallan put it out of his mind. He’d find Vincent by himself.
From where he was, he could hear startled cries and snickering voices. <Vincent!> he called again, and this time he got an answer. The Gastly, to Kallan’s relief responded; <K-Kallan? Ahh!> His second of comfort disappeared into dust.
The Haunter looked behind for the Pokemorph and her Elekid. Ah, who cares. They’ll catch up eventually! He rushed forward through trees, hoping he wasn’t too late to save his friend from . . whatever was keeping him from from safety. Kallan was still in disbelief that this kind of thing was happening already. .

Imogene frowned, picking up her pace. K kept up with no problem, being quite a fast pokemon in the first place. Her feet moved faster, hitting the ground repeatedly as she flew through the trees behind Kallan, desperately hoping she wouldn't lose this false sense of focus that seemed to be miraculously keeping her from hitting the trees. <Kallan!? Kallan!> she called out, barely recognizing the purple shape up in front of her. <What- what happened to Vincent...?> her voice was lost in the foilage rushing all around her as she moved, and it was really only then that she realized she was in the forest near Tarro...the haunted forest. The one with...ghosts, that was...For a split-second, she dared to look backwards, and was relieved to see a yellow blur behind her. K was still with her; she sighed in relief, well- more like gasped as she ran, hearing the muffled cry of Vincent from ahead as well. Kallan might have been Vincent's best friend for...well, years and whatnot, but Imogene still cared about the gastly...she wasn't going to just stand like an idiot on the pathway with K and wait to see whether or not they came out alive or not.

Suddenly, Kallan shouted. <Hey! What are you doing?> It sounded for a second that he was scolding Vincent, but he called out, <What are you?> before a rampant scream- not human, but more.. equine- and the sound of stomping. Kallan growled as he moved forward with a powerful blast, sending a Girafarig toppling backwards and near to where Imogene would end up standing. Its legs flayed as it whinnied with fury and tried to get back up to the Gastly again.
Seeing the lasting determination, Vincent fled behind his Haunter friend in fear. He slowly peeked his head over to the Long Neck Pokemon, but whipped back down almost immediately. <Eep!>

Imogene continued running as she heard Kallan's yells, and her eyes finally focused on a strange thing flying towards her; a pokemon!? She fell to the side with a bit of a yell, barely dodging it as it was sent backwards. K immediately jumped up to stand next to Kallan, electricity sparking from him. "Hey! What do you think you're doing to Vincent?" Imogene asked angrily, jumping awkwardly through a bush to get herself standing next to the Elekid.

Still collapsed on ground (and working hard on getting nowhere), a voice that did not come out of the own Girafarig’s mouth yelled, <Up! Up!> Working much harder on command, the equine started rolling from side to side, eventually flipping over to her stomach. It got back on all four hooves, and seeing four enemies now, it fell into a defending pose. <Hit! Hit! Yellow, yellow!> called the voice again, and the Girafarig reared up and sent itself forward towards the Elekid, hoping for its hooves to be implanting into its face.

K was hit, and he staggered back, completely unprepared for the attack. As he fell down and out of the side, a wonderful red mark was easily visible on his face. "Grrrr." he growled in anger, and without Imogene even saying anything he spun into a blurry yellow and black ball, momentarily spinning in the air before launching himself back at the Girafarig. There wasn't that much time to pick up speed, but enough for force- after all, the space between them was still rather small. Imogene looked towards Kallan and Vincent. "Vincent! You ok?" she asked worriedly, glancing impatiently towards where K and the Girafarig were as she jumped up and ran to stand across the clearing- or at least, not so close to the fight.

The Girafarig was hit square on her chest, and she reared up again in trying to move away from the unfamiliar creature. <Oowwwuh!> it cried in a whiny voice. <Tail, don’t wanna fight no more!> She turned her neck to behind her, staring at her tail, who barked, <No! Fight. Confusion!> through its spiky teeth. The front grunted, and briefly closed her eyes to think clearly. Suddenly, her eyes flew open, her gaze giving off strange lights and patterns that could jumble one’s mind in a single look.

(( Lol...I'm back? XD;; ))
K dizzied slightly from the Confusion attack, and he spun around on his tippy-toes for a second, regaining himself slowly but surely. <Errr...> he stammered. The image of the girafarig was blurry in his mind, and he stifled another quick attack- hitting a tree accidentally instead. <Oucherz.> he muttered to himself, falling backwards a little bit and blinking his eyes, trying to focus on the odd horse-like pokemon ahead of him. Imogene blinked, raising a hand to the confusing spirals that were trying to invade her thoughts. Why is that weird tail controlling the attacks? She couldn't help but wonder. Sure, she'd done her pokemon research, but only on the more common ones...she'd never come across anything like this!

The Tail gave off a weird distorted laugh and, somehow pressured, the head in front gave a little chuckle too. As soon as she laughed, though, her back made a bark and she straightened her posture. <Fight! Now!> She moaned and shook her head, but then she started her feet up and leaped forward for another tackle.

Imogene frowned a little bit, watching K barely dodge the attack, but mostly on account of his own confusion as he staggered sideways. "Quick attack, now!" Imogene commanded, and K nodded, slightly unsure of himself, but jumped up in the air nonetheless. He spun momentarily and then launched off towards the Girafarig, this time much more on target than before. "Sheesh, stop controlling that poor thing!" Imogene called out in annoyance, directing her frustration to the tail on the opposing pokemon. She couldn't figure it out- that thing had two brains!? No wonder it was so confused all the time.

K hit the pokemon’s chest, and it stumbled back with its tongue sticking out in frustration. <Rrr.. No use, Tail. He just too fast.> The Tail failed to sympathize with the Girafarig and barked out more aggressive words, but the front just muttered, <I’m done,> and laid down in the grass.
<Fight! Confusion! Tackle! Hurt! Pain! Destroy! Crush! Pulverize!> Even with the giraffe finished with combat, her tail continued to spit out more and more synonyms (some quite impressive.) All while this happened, an Electrike was sitting on a pile of leaves, staring intently at the little talking ball.
Kallan and Vincent looked confused as the Girafarig suddenly quit. “Well.. That was short..” The Haunter turned to him and started to tell him about paying attention to where he goes.
