It's Wyatt's first time joining such an event. He's rather nervous and fears for his life to get lost in the many pathways of the maze. For this, Wyatt decides to join a group as they venture through. Though he easily gets uneasy being with strangers and his shyness always get the better off him. He's not about to let it all stop him. He'll face his fears and stand before these strangers. Of course with his feathery companion, Adria, by his side, Wyatt can gain more continence as she'll act as his "wing" man.
Wyatt slowly approaches one to try and introduce himself as they will be needing to get along to pass through all the trials. He looks down at his little black shoes to avoid eye contact between the folks towering over his short hight. He starts to squeeze poor Adria in his arms as he musters up words to speak. "Ha haha...Hello." Wyatt's voice shakes, but at least his speaks. "M-m-m-m-m-my...my n-n-n-n-name is..." Adria speaks not a single word as Wyatt struggles with himself. The poor boy's skin even starts to break a sweat and the bird just sits to watch. Unaware that the boy tightens his grip around the bird, releasing his stress like on one of those squishy stress balls office workers like to have on their desks. "Wa-wa-wa-wa...Wyatt!" Adria squawks as she finally feels the squishing arms of Wyatt choking the poor bird. Wyatt quickly loosens his hold letting the bird breath with ease. Wyatt folds his head down to Adria whispering "I'm sorry." it's now the first time Wyatt's done this to the bird, nor will it be the last time. Despite that fact, the small white and blue bird still likes to perch herself in Wyatt's arms in place of his old toy like vessel. It could be like the love a cat or dog has for children, that gets them through all the tortures they face from the children's affection. Either way, Wyatt managed to speak out to the strangers as Adria continues to rest in his arms ignoring the pain that can come from it.

In the middle of eating an entire half a hot dog in one huge bite, Kai was caught a little off-guard when the young Porygon-Z approached and began to stammer. In the middle of chewing a portion of food that was ridiculously huge, he could only stare down in slight panic as the boy stuttered out his name as an almost declaration. Deciding there was nothing else that could be done, he chewed a few more times before swallowing. Hard. He felt the hot dog force it's way down his throat and into his stomach and grimaced, before offering a smile down at the boy that...wasn't making eye contact. He scratched the back of his head, looking amused, before he crouched down - hoping that would be more eye level with the young Trainer. "Hey" he offered, moving his hand in a mock of a salute, "Mine is Kai." he was trying to grin affectionately, and not creepily. Hoping he hadn't scared Wyatt off, he sat on his heels, wrapping his arms around the tops of his knees and trying to give off an aura as friendly as possible. He was, honestly, a little surprised a boy this young-looking was wandering around in a crowd this huge. 'But remember, kids can be trainers at 10, Kai. Shouldn't be that weird to see an unattended child...'

Unlike Kai, Rowan had little excuse to remain quiet as he stumbled over his words. With one hand on her hip, and the other dangling at her side, she continued to say nothing. The blubbering child in front of them, though embarrassing, didn't need to be pampered. In her opinion, children had good reason for feeling intimidated by adullts, and there was no reason to coddle them out of it. Her Oddish seemed to follow in silent pursuit of her rolemodel, though she did glance up at the trainer curiously for wordless directions.
Kai, on the other hand, didn't seem to get the memo. She didn't mind, however, watching him eagerly introduce himself. Deciding it was the right time to throw in her name, she gave a small smile and said, "Hello Wyatt, my name is Rowan." She wouldn't give him positive attention for stammering, but she had no intention of being rude, either. "Are you joining us?"
She didn't have to look at her Oddish to notice the unwary glance she received once her Pokemon noticed his. She gave the pokemon a once-over, deciding it looked more like a nut and berry kind of bird, but decided to give fair warning anyways. "I do hope your Swablu is trained enough to not cause problems for my Oddish."

Wyatt jumps as he sees one approach him. The man bends down to reach his hight and gives his name. Wyatt still make no attempt to meet eyes with the stranger as this ill mannered boy looks to the ground. He's yet to be comfortable with simple conversation. He lacks complete understanding of social interactions. Then again, from being locked up in a box for years, it shouldn't be a surprise.
Wyatt finally makes an effort to raise his head. His eyes meet with the man before him, but before he could get a good look at Kai, Wyatt is surprised by the other trainer. The young woman spoke with such a strong presence. Wyatt's head spins to the green haired woman. His body shakes as nausea bubbles up in his belly. Maybe it was a mistake for Wyatt to approach these two. The woman's neutral tone in her introduction and question left Wyatt unsure what to think about her. "Ye-ye-yes ma'am," Wyatt responds, stubbing on his words again.
Wyatt notices the woman's state, glancing toward the directions, leaving him to be watching his little blue bird. Adria sits in his arms with an unamused look. Being a little shy herself, she looks over at the two strangers with an uneasy feeling. She's not sure what to think of the two, though Kai seems to be a nice fellow with effort in meeting the boy at eye level. But the moment Rowen commented about her, something inside her ticked. Adria isn't used to insult and even ruffle up from Wyatt's scientific analysis. Unable to hold in her frustration she let's out a chirp, "Are you trying to call me a beast?! Well pardon my rudeness but I'm a rather pure and pampered--" Wyatt shakes he bird in his arms and covering her beak with the palm of his hand.
Interrupting from her squawking, Wyatt tries to prevent any bickering with a clean cut "No ma'am." Wyatt keeps his head low afraid to see any negative reaction. Of all the emotions Wyatt has yet to learn, he has a perfect understating of stress and fear.

Kai felt his mouth tug into a half smile. 'Join us?' he turned to give Rowan a quick glance of confusion. "Uh." she certainly was intimidating though; just the way she was standing he could tell she was a bit of a no-nonsense kind of lady. He scratched the back of his head absently as he stood and turned to face her, grinning down at the Swablu. "Hey, no need to worry about anything. If we work together, it doesn't matter the level." he tried to offer both the woman and the bird easy going smiles, Wow, not even in the maze yet and we're already having problems.' "Aha." perhaps hoping to distract them both from any remaining animosity, he pulled a Poke'ball from his belt, "This is my partner, Pulse!" since they both already had a Pokemon out...He might as well too. The ball hit the ground and released a Raichu, who grinned from his short position on the ground. ~So, when do we rock the heist?~

She hardly blinked at the Pokemon's outburst, raising her eyebrow at the boy when he cut her short. She held her tongue against a comment about the obvious lack of training, but decided if the bird turned on them, it'd just mean extra training for her Oddish. Though she kept her mouth against these thoughts, her expression and tone held a lingering hint of distaste as she replied, "I do hope that is the case." The only pro about the Swablu was that she seemed young, and that gave them more of a chance of catching a glimpse into Kai's team. Just seeing the Pokeballs on his belt made her curious, and she itched to see him use them.
At his inquiry, she wordlessly turned away from the boy who was now muffling his under-trained Pokemon, and looked at Kai. She gave him a smile (genuine, this time) and offered, "I don't know, I just kind of hoped..." She trailed off, gesturing to his waist, "I can tell you have more experience on your belt." She let out a little laugh and shrugged lightly, "If you don't mind, that is."
Honestly she came here to socialize, and going through a large maze by herself with newly obtained Pokemon seemed like a bad plan. Besides, finding trainers who had more experience than her was a solid way at improving herself. She also wanted her Pokemon to witness a good battle, because thus far her adventure had been rather uneventful. Just the thoughts made her want to get things going, causing her to respond with, "Now would be good." And without another word, she was entering the maze.

Wyatt quietly sighs to himself. He’s relieved that the young lady took no offence or reacted to Adria’s sudden verbal aggression. Though he continues to look down in the ground, afraid that doing otherwise will trigger hostility from the other member. He shakes from the anxiety building up in his tiny body, just waiting around like an idiot. Kai steps in with a few words of his own. Wyatt tries to take a peek at the two now taking. In between the exchange from his to hers, Kai calls out his companion. Wyatt looks over to the Raichu, ‘Pulse is his name and Kai is the trainer.’ Wyatt quickly echos it his head to remember later on. The stress starts to fade away seeing the happy and friendly looking raichu. Wyatt loves watching all kinds of different pokemon. There are so many different species in the world, but he’s only ever seen a small hand full of them. He looks over at the other trainer’s pokemon. It’s the first time Wyatt has ever seen either of the two pokemon. With the maze he’s yet to venture through and other pokemon the better trainers can unleash. Wyatt is starting to get very excited for the challenge. Being in the heat of the moment, Wyatt holds out his little bird, showing it off to the world much like a strange baboon had once done with a little lion cub. As he gestures, words manage to escape from Wyatt’s throat, “This is Adria.” His voice is meek, as he didn’t want to show off at how great a pokemon Adria can be. He just said it so the other’s would know. It’s nice to know other’s names, at least that’s what Wyatt thinks from his human studies.
Wyatt forgot his fear from the interactions between the other two. The two pokemon is enough to distract him from any activity he’d be doing. Much like a dog enthusiast walking by a park full of owners walking their furry canine companions. He was lost in his small world for a short while before he’s pulled back into reality from the voices of the towering people. It might have ended his small moment of happiness, but he is rather relieved to hear that the woman agrees to venture into the maze, together, as a group. However, before he know it, Rowan walks towards the entrance ahead of the two. Her stride is longer than little Wyatt’s from having longer and fully grown legs. Not wanting to be left behind, Wyatt scrambles to catch up behind her, despite the fact that Wyatt is possibly the least person Rowan wants to be followed by right after. In the process of following after her, being the clumsy boy that he is, Wyatt tumbles to the ground right at the entrance. Luckily after learning from experience, Wyatt manages to shield the blue bird he always carries. As a result, his face smacks down at the ground harder than usual. “Oh my!” Adria chirps as she shields her face as they tumble together. Wyatt pulls his face off of the ground rubbing the dirt off his face. The strange and foreign sensation of pain tingles Wyatt where it was hit. His skin starts to heat up as it turns red, but no sign or crying or stress. He continues to clean off the rest of the dirt on his body. ”Oh Wyatt, why are you always doing that? You’re such a clumsy boy” Adria feels a bit disappointed in the boy, though these event’s are very typical for the boy. Wyatt brushes off the bird’s comment with senseless grumbling like a frustrated child. Though he feels like dying inside the minute he realises that he’s no longer alone. He prays in his head that no more embarrassing event’s like that would happen again when he’s in the maze, but that’s unlikely to happen.

It was at about that time the Kai actually got a good look at Rowan, and the fact she was wearing just about nothing. 'What...what have I gotten into?' he offered her an uneasy smile in response; somehow the way she was looking at him made him feel really nervous. Like she was going to pounce on him or something. On the other hand, the fact she could tell he wasn't just some Trainer was a little impressive. Having more than one Pokemon wasn't exactly a sign of experience... Hm. He shrugged too, trying not to admit to anything. He turned his attention to Adria, and smiled at Wyatt. He really was kind of adorable. Little shy though. He was about to follow after the child, Raichu at his side, when the boy tripped. He blinked for a second, but his Pokemon was a little faster. ~Hey, kid. You okay? Have a nice trip?~ the electric-type grinned at the boy, hoping maybe it would make him feel better. It sure made Pulse feel good, he was smiling so wide because he was barely containing the laughter in his chest. Kai only felt a palm on his forehead, shaking his head at his Pokemon's actions. "I'm sorry. Wyatt, are you alright?"

Pokemon introductions. Pulse and... Adria. Rowan glanced down at her Oddish, wondering how necessary names really were. They made things personal, and right now her starter and herself were far from personal. They still didn't understand each other in the least. Was it still expected that she give it a name..?
There was a commotion behind her, causing all thoughts on the subject to drop. Rowan glanced back with a sigh of exasperation. Five feet in. Great job. Expecting to see her klutzy Oddish rolling face down in the dirt, her eyebrows lifted a little in surprise when it was Wyatt instead. The cleared grass-type continued walking until she was at her side, turning to look at the human started to get up. It was weird seeing a clumsy human.
The Raichu made the trainer smile with his comments. It was neither overly-sympathetic or rude, with some humor. Fantastic. "Are you sure you should hold your Pokemon like that?" She inquired, not sure if falling was a common habit for him, "It looks hazardous."

'Trip? A nice trip? Does he mean the fall?' Wyatt looks up to see the grinning rodent. It's a strange smile to Wyatt, as if Pulse is about to explode into the sky with glee like a rocket. Wyatt's face expresses the confusion which he's feeling, almost the complete opposite to Pulse. 'Is what Pulse said suppose to be really funny?' Sadly, Wyatt still lacks the understanding of most emotions, this includes his funny bone. Maybe he's just the type to not have it? As strange as it seems, people like that exist in the world. Wyatt lets out an award smile, unsure how to react. It left Wyatt thinking and easily forgot the embarrassment he was feeling just seconds ago.
Wyatt turns to Kai quickly after the trainer spoke. He takes a moment to process Kai's words, but the moment he figured it out he drops his act. Wyatt shakes his head, weary to talk and states at the trainer with a natural puppy face. But Pulse and Kai aren't the only ones to have a say. Wyatt rushes to stop patting his closes. He quickly examines for any rips and tares, seeing the fabric remains strong like steel. Wyatt looks up at Rowan, meeting her eyes the the urge to look away as a child being scold by his or her mother. "She-she chirps...but not anymore." after hearing Adria's squawking countless times from his falling. Wyatt started to build a habit to roll over and shield the bird with his arms. It does feel more painful for the boy, but with the way he's built, Wyatt takes no damage from it. Just a tingling feeling that sometimes makes him want to cry.
Now on his two, Wyatt carefully walks through the entrance. Sure he's an eager beaver inside, but he wants to avoid anymore tripping as much as possible. No matter how silly and impossible it sounds. Wyatt murmurs to the others while facing away, "We-we-well? Lets get gu-going." he slowly reaches Rowan and continues to walk through the gate. His nerves act up again as he squeezes his bird. Adria ignores it know that he's just nervous. She follows up on what Wyatt says by stating out with a soft song and builds up for a lively chirp, "Ye-yeah, ~ leeets ~ GO!"

Pulse grinned at Rowan, as if he could sense she got and understood his (terrible) joke. He puffed his chest out, hopping past the short Porygon-Z and waving his tail, ~Yeah, yeah! Let's go!~ He bounced a little further ahead, and then turned to shoot his trainer an exasperated look. ~Hurry up, Kai! We haven't done anything fun the whole time we've been here.~ Kai, for his part, just sighed. Well sure. Why not. He glanced at Rowan again, feeling uncertain, but shrugged it off. He was just paranoid. Absolutely just...Paranoid. He nodded to himself and strode after his unruly Electric-type, shaking his head at Pulse's behavior. "I should have let Zebop out instead of you, you're always misbehaving." he joked. The Raichu turned and gave him a mock-mortified look. ~But I'm the favorite!~ he said, giving his trainer a thumbs-up, before turning to keep a firm lead. He liked to be in front, and the way his ears were pointed up proudly showed that off rather well.

She held back a frown, adding simply, "She sounds peppy enough, at the very least." Her eyes were directed back towards the maze, where Kai and his Raichu were bouncing ahead. Beside her, the unnamed Oddish itched to follow. Something about relating to another trainer's Pokemon seemed exciting, but she was too nervous to speak her mind.
Rowan glanced down at her Oddish, the Pokemon's round eyes watching the Raichu as it distanced itself from them. "Well?" She inquired, raising an eyebrow, "You think I want you at my heels the whole time?" The Oddish jumped when she noticed who her trainer was addressing. The intimidating way to shoo her off left her unsure if the woman was angry or simply trying to help, but either way she scampered ahead, leaves moving in every which way as the wind caught them.
The corner of Rowan's mouth twitched into a small smile, but she gave no other hint of happiness as she advanced along behind them. A good part of her wanted to catch Kai and ask him about his other Pokemon. Get an idea where he came from, how long he'd been traveling, and maybe some kind of tip or something. She wasn't sure what he could offer that she didn't already know, but the confidence she felt when it came to her looks didn't run over into her education. She knew to listen when someone was more experienced. But then again... for all she knew it could be a bunch of level five Magikarp lining his belt.
Though she paid little attention to the small trainer dubbed Wyatt, he had seemed to caught the attention of something. That something waited, and waited, and exactly when the right moment came, the Diglett sprung up right under Wyatt before diving down again, leaving a perfect round hole in its wake. At the bottom, something seemed to be poking out of the earth, glittering. It appeared to be the corner of something, the silver dulled and scratched. The mysterious Diglett was nowhere to be had, clearly finding his prank of the day satisfying enough to leave them alone.

Wyatt rolls like a cheese wheel after being tripped by the diglett. He lands flat out on his back, laying there on the ground doing nothing. Wyatt is surprised by what just happend when he tried so hard to carefully walk in and avoid any further falling. Adria, on the other hand, is upset and about to blow her gasket. It hasn’t even been long before the last time he fell. How could the strange boy already fallen again? Adria squirms out of Wyatt’s, now standing on his chest and glaring down the boy’s eyes. “How!?” the blue bird chirps loudly letter out her frustration. Wyatt continues to do nothing as he lays on the ground with the same shocked looking expression. Adria gives up and looks up to see a small deep hole just around where Wyatt fell. She spreads out her soft cloud like wings and flaps over to the hole. Rage starts to build up in the small frail body as the little bird jab’s her head through the hole. She wants to shout out through the hole with all her fury but something holds her back. Not knowing who or what could have caused the hole brings fear to Adria. What if it’s something bigger and stronger than herself? With her sever lack of experience in battling, Adria has no confidence that she can handle whatever is down there. Instead she swallows down her anger and hops away from the hole.
Wyatt finally starts to get up by lifting up his upper body into a sitting position. He’s still unsure as to what happened, but no use sulking over it any longer. Wyatt turns to see what Adria is doing, it’s uncommon for her to leave Wyatt’s arms on her own. He see’s the bird examining the hole then walking away from it. Wyatt start’s to think back to when he was walking. He doesn’t remember seeing a hole there before, could that be the cause of his falling. “Adria” Wyatt lets out trying to call the bird back to his side.
Adria turns to face him with an angry look. She starts hopping toward the boy sitting on the ground as she warms up her vocals to speak. “Thi-think that’s the cause of...your fall.” Her tone sounds unrelated her her mood. She’d normally speak her mind when it comes to Wyatt, but now with all these strangers around, she feels less comfortable in being honest.
Now by Wyatt, the boy wraps his arms around Adria, back into her special spot by Wyatt’s chest. Wyatt places his right arm down to help push him up to stand. He quickly brushes off whatever dirt he can feel on his back and slowly walks close up to the hole. “What could make this hole?” He ask himself before even bothering to think through is computer mind for the answer.

Kai blinked, watching Pulse slow down a little to let the Oddish catch up. Good, he was being friendly instead of troublesome. He smiled, as the Raichu animatedly began to engage the Grass-type in some sort of communication, Pulse stopped short with his ears twitching when he heard Wyatt fall. ~Whoa, again?~ he tilted his head, but was content to stay ahead where he was, and leaned over to the Oddish, ~Your Trainer looks like a Queen among peasants compared to mine and this boy. Even more than she already did.~ he nodded, crossing his arms as he waited for them to recover and catch up so they could keep going. Kai turned back to face the fallen child, and stared down at the hole with him. "Huh. That was pretty unlucky..." There was no denying it was a ground-type that caused, but which kind was a different story. Maybe a Diglett? It was nearly a perfect circle. He scratched his head, and sighed. Well. He could tell from his vantage point that there was something down in that hole...And the only way to find out made Kai feel a little unpleasant. He took a moment to steel his nerves - and with the quick thought of 'Please don't bite me' - he stuck his hand into the hole and reached for the silver thing he could see. Like it would give them all a hint as to who would do this dastardly deed.

The Oddish nodded her head shyly, glancing back at her trainer who had come to a stop to peer down at the other two humans. Once she was out of earshot of Rowan, she seemed to pick up enough confidence to speak to him. <I have not met many humans, so I wasn't sure if that is how they usually are. But... looking at your trainer and the boy...> She glanced back at them, the boy in question just now getting to his feet. <They are considerably less...> Blunt? Elegant? Intimidating? Her mind clung to demanding, but she was unsure if this was the right word. Rowan certainly was demanding, but her determination to get what she wanted wasn't quite what made her unique. Her trainer was... She was... <Proud.>
The item in question required a little bit of a tug to get loose, but once it departed from the clump of mud around it, it lifted out easily. It was silver, and had no engravings besides the crudely marked up sides where rocks had scratched along it. There was a tiny hole where a key must be used. Rowan blinked at it, reaching a hand forward to lift a little tag off the side, reading out loud.
"This box requires a key. Perhaps the flower garden you will soon see will know where it might be."
