Wyatt quickly scrambles to get a closer look at the silver box in Kai's hands. With his hight restraint, he can only get a good look of the bottom half of it. He tilts his head up, almost at the angle perfect for watching the sky and hops with his skinny short legs. The effort makes no difference leaving Wyatt with no choice but to give up.
However the little bird in his arms care little for the shimmering box. She's still upset about what could have caused the hole and made Wyatt trip. It frustrates her more that the other two trainers seem to care little. Then again, they must have figured that falling is a common activity for the strange boy. Adria's worry and anger starts to fade as she sees the oddish and raichu mingling together. Jealousy bubbles up in Adria. She's never been good at socializing, and being with the awkward boy bot doesn't help. She'd love to jump off from Wyatt arms and try to talk with the two. Making a pokemon friend or two could be a good change for her and help her break out of her shell of shyness. But her shyness pulls her back from interacting, keeping her in an eternal stalemate.
It's no surprise that Wyatt takes no notice to Adria's dilema and continues on with his action. He watches Rowan pull out a slip of paper from around the box. He couldn't see where it came from, just the action of the woman pulling it out. Rowan studies the tag and reads out load the message. With no warning, Wyatt speaks out with joy to solve the puzzle. "There might a trail of flowers we can follow to take us to the garden. Or maybe if we hold on to the box for now we'll manage to find our way into the garden is tells us about." Wyatt notices his sudden outburst of words. He shut his mouth to hold in anything else that might come out and hopes to have left no bad impression toward the others. Maybe they won't mind him speaking, but Wyatt has never been with other people for this long aside from his creators.

The Raichu glanced down at the small bulb Pokemon for a moment, mouth turned downwards in surprise, before it cracked into another wide grin, ~Ahahaha! You haven't seen us battle. You'll see pride then. Other people make him uneasy. 'Specially the lady-folk.~ he confided the last bit by leaning a little closer. ~Man, what is taking...Oh, he found a box...~
For a moment, Kai was staring at the box in confusion. He hadn't expected the object to come away that easily, and it took him a heartbeat or two to realize he was holding it already. And no one bit him! But as soon as he realized he was holding a box, it was like his eyes turned a whole new shade of green. 'A box!' boxes, especially ones that needed keys to open, were something of a love for him. He'd always enjoyed things that held secrets and surprises; and even just locks in general. He stood up to his full height after Rowan pulled the note from around the box. When she read it, he felt an intense feeling of emergency rise up in him, 'We need to go there, now.' he glanced down at Wyatt, grinning at his logic. Flowers? He looked around for a trail of flowers, or a scent...Something.
Pulse looked at his new friend, ~Hey, can't you like. Sense other plants or anything? The faster we get to the garden the better.~ just looking at his trainer, the electric-type could tell that if Kai were to have a tail it would be wagging so fast it would be a blur. He thought about it for a moment with a faint grin and then blinked, ~Uh...I'm Pulse, by the way.~ Kai was always telling him it was rude to not let other Pokemon and people know your name.

When the Raichu pointed it out, she looked over. Sure enough, the trainers were all huddled close with their eyes down (and, in Wyatt's case, up) to stare at the rectangle in Kai's hands. "Did they just pull that out of the ground...?" She asked curiously. Out of the many days she spent with her head in the dirt, not once had she stumbled across any boxes. "That's weird."
Rowan couldn't help the small smile from emerging, dropping the little tag and straightening herself to study her two companions. "I don't see any petals, but I can't imagine this maze is too big for us to find it." If they traveled long enough, and perhaps asked some people... Surely they'd eventually find what they wanted to. "One of us just needs to hold it, and when we see someone we will ask them. Or maybe whomever it was who gave us this box was so sure we would find it because it is close by."
The Oddish jumped at his request. 'Locate... plants?' She tilted her head a little, leaves swaying to the side, the longer ones brushing at the ground. Could other Oddish do that..? "N-no, I'm sorry." Her voice was suddenly less confident. She'd disappointed him, no doubt. "If I could, I would lead us there. There is just too much life around us for me to know that sort of thing." And, to make it worse, he'd introduced himself. She glanced down at her round feet as she mumbled, "I don't have a name." Her mouth lingered over a 'yet', but it remained unsaid. She couldn't make that kind of statement without knowing if Rowan would ever name her.

Wyatt looks around the maze, trying to figure out the direction which the trainers should venture through. Though Rowan may be right about it not being too big, there’s no way to tell at this point. Neither is there a way to determine a way through. There is no way for his computer like mind to determine the kean direction or location of the destination. The trainers will have to walk in blind like everything else though the other two probably expected as much. Wyatt starts to feel less stressed about speaking to the others seeing Rowan have a positive reaction to his words. The two look ready to dive into the maze and find that mystery garden. It’s definitely something to study about. Wyatt has never seen such excitement or determination in people before, it’s a first for him. Seems that challenges like finding a key or potential rewards drive people to hunt through even in the unknown. Wyatt perks up a bit readying to speak as he thinks of what to say. “What direction should be go first?” The words are coming out smoother than ever before, but there’s still a slight sign of shaking and nervousness. Adria is still watching the two pokemon talk. Wyatt finally takes notice of her behaviors and look out to see what she’s watching. Wyatt slowly moves away from the two trainers to get closer to the two pokemon talking to themselves. He walks in when Pulse introduces himself to the little leafy guy. She, however, replies with a shocking response. “You don’t have a name? That’s so sad.” Wyatt says excitingly yet with a softer tone, still being nervous about upsetting the trainers. In a way Adria and Wyatt are the same, they are both shy when interacting with other, the exception is Wyatt loves pokemon and has no issues confronting them or talking to them. Adria stays quiet in the boy’s arms, with great interest in the conversation. Wyatt continues on talking, “Doesn’t every trainer give their pokemon a name?” The fact that Rowan hasn’t given her one slips his mind.

At Wyatt's question, Kai realizes they had managed to travel towards a fork in the road. "...Ah..." he narrows his eyes a little at each path; they both seemed to be identical. To him at least. "Hn." the box in his hands moved closer to his chest - as though he needed to protect it from anyone who might want to steal it. He gave each path a once over again, before turning to Rowan; "Which way do you-" It was at that point he heard Wyatt say something about a Pokemon not having a name, and tilted his head towards the little gathering.
Pulse nodded his head a few times, understanding. It was a maze made out of hedges afterall. And then he blinked, ~No name?~ he asked, it had been a while since he'd encountered a Pokemon with no name. He shrugged, ~Well, hey. What's in a name, right? A Raichu by any other name wouldn't be as cool as me - but we'd both still be Raichus, you know?~ he patted the closest leaf-frond to him and waved his tail a little, but the electricity around here wasn't anything impressive. Just static from the trainer's clothing. At Wyatt's remark, Kai leaned a little closer, "Not necessarily. While it's true most trainers do these days, it was pretty common a few years ago for people to refer to their Pokemon as 'Raichu' or 'Oddish'." he wasn't trying to defend Rowan or anything, but he knew that she might take offense at what the younger trainer said; and thought it best to start smoothing things over before the yelling started. If it would.

The Oddish immediately felt a little better at Pulse's comments, glancing back up at him with a hint of excitement. It wasn't really in his words, but his response. He didn't seem horrified or upset, as if not having a name was perfectly acceptable. <You are a pretty cool Raichu> she responded happily, jumping slightly when Wyatt and his Pokemon approached.
Her excitement dwindled slightly at his response. She didn't know humans, but so far every one she'd seen had given their Pokemon a name. Maybe Pulse had simply been trying to make her feel better. She was unsure how to respond for two reasons. Reason one being she didn't know the answer to his question, and reason two being he was a human, and humans intimidated her.
Rowan was busily staring at the intersection when Wyatt spoke to her Pokemon. She didn't fully tune in until Kai's voice, slightly louder, caught her attention. Names? They were discussing names?
Not having been aware that they came to the topic with regard to her Oddish, she stepped towards them and announced what they had already learned. "My Pokemon is not named." She didn't even hesitate, clearly not finding this to be a problem in the least. "When you team up with someone for the first time, you do not know their personality, their background, much less if you will like them. Nicknames are acquired after a certain level of familiarity, not before. Wouldn't you two feel weird if I started calling you something else so suddenly?"
She said it as if informing the uninformed, not as if she were attempting to defend herself. There was no flaw to her actions, so she wouldn't treat them as such. It made more sense, anyways. "On a different note, we need to decide what direction to go. Wyatt, you choose. Left or right?"

After Pulses little explanation, Wyatt understands better about why some pokemon never end up having names from their trainers. With being a new trainer himself, learning these things at the near beginning of his journey probably does help prevent the boy from getting in trouble with others down the line. He always thought that trainers would give a special name to every pokemon the capture. Could be that some lack the creativity to think of a name for their traveling companion. Though Wyatt lacks a bit of creativity, he can simply just select a name considering the sounding of the name and name meaning. Despite the fact that Adria lacks an interesting or connecting meaning to the blue bird resting in his arms. Wyatt nods with understanding towards Pulse for the lecture. Every little bit of information helps, no matter how little and insignificant it can be. If it's a step closer to understanding the minds and hearts of others then it's a step well taken.
Rowan surprises Wyatt as she suddenly speaks her mind of the matter. The girl is intimidating for the boy and he's not sure whether she likes him or not. She looks strong and sure as the answers the matter as to why the little oddish has no name. It sounds like a rather logical answer, and sounds typical for the type of girl she is, but Wyatt takes it to heart. With his voice still a bit shaky he responds to Rowan. "Oh how nice, I've never had a nickname once," Wyatt breaks no eye contact between Rowan and him. He doesn't relax either even after starting to talk. "Nor did I have a an actual name for a long time. It does sometimes feel sad" Wyatt tells it with slight sadness in his eyes as he speaks the truth from experience. It true that Wyatt was nothing but an object to experiment for majority of his life. Neither did he have a proper name, he was just called #77 for he was the 77th pokemon to be brought into the labs for experiments. There's nothing reassuring or meaningful behind it. However, after leaving the lab, he became his own by appointing himself with a name that he liked, Wyatt. From that point on, everything in his life seems to get better, aside from the extreme clumsiness. Though he doesn't seem to mind it much.
Wyatt's mood starts to turn away from sadness as Rowan gave the power to him to choose which direction to go. He was never given such power in a group. The closes thing to that is probably choosing pokemon type and desired pokemon from the lab and that's just about it. Wyatt already determined that math couldn't help pick which way is right, so maybe Wyatt should pick by how many creators say they do, by gut. Wyatt's not sure so they mean by gut, especially since Wyatt doesn't have any real ones. Maybe it's a matter of instinct? But what instinct does he have? After all, he's just a glitchy porygon in the mind of a boy robot. Wyatt starts to talk as he's still figuring out things. "Well since there is no way to calculate to finding out the way through, so I'll just pick at random," His tone is much more comfortable now, probably because Rowan asked him to be the one to decide. Wyatt is extremely happy inside for it, too. Seems that Rowan isn't such a bad person after all, just needed some time to figure her out. Like what she says about figuring out names and nicknames for her oddish. However, now is not the time to be lost in emotions as Wyatt keeps the others waiting for his final answer. Without much thought, Wyatt simply speaks out whatever that comes out of his mouth instead of deciding on a proper decision. "and I pick left." Left? So that's what came out. Wyatt starts to wonder if this is what his "guts" are telling him, then again it could be his subconscious flipping a coin and spewing out what the results may have been. All in all, it's what Wyatt picks and he's happy that he's the one who could make the choice. Now it just watches the others for their reactions for the small to bounce back at or simply follow depending on what they do.

Internally, Kai felt overjoyed. He was left-handed, and felt like all the left things in the world were deeply under-loved. And misrepresented. Though he had to admit whenever he picked the left side of things, stuff never really worked out for him. ...Though things, generally never worked out the way he thought they would for him anyway, but at least he had a pretty high tolerance for pain. "Left it is!" he echoed, cradling the box and set out following the smaller trainer, a smile on his face. His mind was mostly reverberating around the box, curious and excited all at once. Boxes were just...Awesome.
~I am, the best Raichu~ Pulse responded, with the air of utmost importance. ~Seriously, you'll never find a better Raichu than I.~ he grinned, but he fully meant what he said. Intent on keeping his new grass-type friend near him he kept a little behind. He didn't think her smaller legs would be able to keep up with him if he kept running all over the place to explore things, and he was feeling a little bit more mellowed out with introductions in place. He did, however, perk his ears at a Pokemon that appeared out of a small hole in the hedges they were walking by. He ignored it as he padded by, uninterested in it.
The Pokemon in question, a Skitty, was watching them with closed eyes and a small smile. Her tail wagged behind her slowly, and gripped in it was a Leppa Berry (a snack she favored above all other Berries). Her fur was a darker pink and a creamier looking white than an average Skitty, she was watching them all walk by without much care to the destination of their travels. A lot of trainers were popping in today, and she assumed that something just...must be going on. And she didn't get invited (but that tended to happen quite a lot- she didn't really mind).

Unsure if anyone else had noticed it, Rowan stopped. "Boys~" She called, gesturing to the Skitty. "It looks like we have company." In her head, she guessed what her Pokedex would say. Skitty. Normal type Pokemon. Weak to Fighting, immune to Ghost. Her Oddish would be on equal terms with the creature, at the very least. "I hope you don't mind me covering this one."
She didn't even need to speak, her Pokemon had already left her new friend's side with a retreating, <Hopefully this won't take long.> She didn't mind fighting, but the stress that her trainer would find disappointment once she lost was a little much for her. They'd only had one battle together, and though it had raised her confidence, she wondered occasionally if it was a fluke.
"Most, if not all of it's attack moves will be physical." Rowan informed her as she stepped forward, "I want you to use Absorb, and stay farther than a foot from it at all times." As she said this, the Oddish gave a little, nervous nod and sent out a faint green aura to sap the creature's health.

Confused as to where he was, Scuro was mostly following voices through the broad daylight. Seeing groups of people walking together made him feel more alone despite his gastly, Ezio, hovering about him. Still he was nervous to join groups passing by since he wasn't to social and felt they would just ignore him or push him away. <What are we here for?> Ezio said impatiently. Scuro simply replied, "This is a maze and at the time it sounded like a good idea to just stroll on in and find the exit." That was the purpose of mazes was it not.
Something startled him at that precise moment. He didn't hesitate and made a quick left at the next break while running. Granted he hadn't been afraid, but it sounded quite nerve-racking and didn't want to stay for kicks. Almost tripping over himself, he stopped himself from running into a girl who was in the middle of a pokemon battle. Catching his breath, hands on knees with his head tilted up to look, it was an Oddish versus a Skitty.
Scuro wasn't sure who these people were but having a battle in the middle of a maze sounded like a good thing to spectate. He also wondered, despite his prior thoughts, if this group would even talk to him or allow him to partake in their fun. Seeing as he was already in near them, he calmly but shyly said "Sorry, for almost knocking you over there, my name is Scuro and this is Ezio."

A skitty lurking in the hedges? Oh what joy, Wyatt has never seen one before, and boy is he getting excited to see it now. Going left definitely was a good choice if he get’s to see a skitty, though if they went for the other direction and saw a pokemon there Wyatt would be thinking the same thing. The skitty looks so precious with her dear leppa berry grasped my her hand like tail. She looks sweet and kind, just popping out to see what’s going on. Wyatt, with his heart full of joy, starts to make way for the kitten until he gets interrupted by Rowan commanding her small kinder oddish to attack. Wyatt lets out a sound which slowly forms a word, ”Wha...Why!?” Wyatt doesn’t like the idea of attacking the poor creator, what did she ever do to the trainers? He start a little charge at the trainer with Adria being first to “attack” being in his warms.
A stranger heads down to Rowan before him causing Wyatt to stop suddenly. The stranger looks to be a tall and strong looking boy. A bit intimidating for the small and weak little boy. From the shock of seeing the boy Wyatt takes a small hop away and closer to Kai. Wyatt now watches the boy manages to catch his footing and stop, though Wyatt wishes for a full assault. Wyatt start to walk a bit closer to the boy as he seems to mean no harm. With the fact that there’s two older trainers around him, Wyatt can act a bit braver in these kinds of situations. The boy starts to apologize to Rowan and introduces himself, named Scuro. ”Scuro” escapes out of Wyatt mouth as he records the name down in his head to remember. Wyatt now shifts his thoughts away from the frustration with Rowan to curiosity. ‘Who’s Ezio?’ thinks Wyatt as he tries to look for another trainer around. He doesn’t realize that the name belongs to a pokemon till the moment he spots a spectator floating about. ”Gastly!” Another new pokemon Wyatt had yet to see till now. Similar to earlier events, Wyatt rushes to the floating smog with a personality and lifts his own companion to present her. ”Adria!” If you haven’t noticed yet, it’s about time now that you’d notice this kid sure loves pokemon. Wyatt has greeted almost every pokemon so far with a warm little welcome.

"Hm?" Kai turned his head to look over at the Skitty, "Oh. A...Shiny Skitty." he smiled, "It's cool." he removed a hand from around the box to wave it at Rowan. Even if he had wanted to get the Skitty, he felt pretty confident he would have said the same thing no matter what. He cast a glance at the boy who jogged up, blinking a little at the sudden appearance of another person. Unconsciously, he re-wrapped his other hand around the box...As though this new person, this "Scuro", was sent to take it from him. But he shot the out-of-breath trainer a small smile, before murmuring "Kai". He was getting kind of curious to see the Oddish battle; Skitties were decently versatile. Pulse grinned and gave his new friend a thumbs up, ~You got this!~ he encouraged, ignoring the new arrival. He was busy right now, and didn't feel like being formal just yet.
The Skitty blinked at the sudden attention everyone was giving her. It was nice. Well, it was nice. Until she saw what looked like a little green mist float over to her, tug at her a little, and then float back towards the green bush-creature. "Ski?" she looked around herself a little bit, disconcerted, before standing. She shook her fur out - letting loose a few sparkles - and then faced the Oddish with a smile. She didn't say anything more, just tilted her head to the side and then launched forward as a pink blur; aiming to smack the Oddish with her two paws with a Fake Out.

The Skitty moved much too fast for fhe Oddish to avoid, and she was knocked back several feet. She got to her feet shakily, glancing back at Rowan. Thankfully, when the breach of her trainer's orders happened, the woman was too busy being startled by two others charging at her.
Rowan took a step back, startled. First, it looked like Wyatt was going after her, and then suddenly this guy? She narrowed her eyes at him at first, a rare occasion for the usually well-mannered woman. It took only moments before her expression turned to a more appealing one, though there was still a small wrinkle between her eyebrows as he introduced himself.
"You may call me Rowan." She said simply, glancing back at her Oddish who was too afraid to make a move without her order. Her lips tightened to a line at this, and she called out, "Growth! And do a better job with my orders next time." She could see the dirt on the grass-type's leaves, so it was pretty obvious she'd been either been bathing in it or had been hit.
The Oddish was embarrassed by her obvious disapproval in front of, well, her friends. Mainly in front of Pulse. She turned back to the Skitty, digging her feet into the ground and drawing the nutrients from the soil. It was rich, and full of life, making her leaves grow as that rush of green energy surge through her once more. She prepared better this time for her opponent's next attack.
"If you don't mind-" Rowan gestured to her Pokemon, who was clearly inept when it came to surviving a battle on her own, "I am busy. We will exchange formalities after?" She fixed Scuro a small, pleasant smile, "I would love to hear more about you." That was all she said before turning her back on him and calling, "In case you forgot the first time, don't let her get close."

Deep inside, Scuro was beyond happy to see that these trainers at least acknowledged him. Although outside, he was still hesitant as to what to say. Nevertheless he cracked a smile and said, "pleased to meet you" in a more confident tone.
There was one problem though and it wasn't Scuro. Ezio, with one eye squinting while the other full, was taken aback by the trainer and his fluffy companion. Not sure what to say or do, Ezio quickly acted and licked Adria from head to toe. Scuro quickly glanced at Ezio and spoke into his mind. "What was that for!? They didn't do anything to you."
<Hey! You weren't the one with a pokemon shoved in your face. I thought it would be funny if I licked her, come on you know it was!>
Scuro knew it was slightly funny but knew that it was just plain creepy. Such was his Gastly. Who in their right mind would talk to him, let alone be friends with him if his pokemon licked the face of theirs. He slightly put his head down while telling Wyatt sorry for Ezio's behavior. What a way to make a first impression.
Turning his head to this "Kai", he wasn't sure if Kai even cared to talk to him since he just murmured his name. It might have been that he scared him with him almost tripping into them or if it was Ezio's fault. Despite his doubts, he told Kai,"That is one pretty cool Raichu you got there." He knew he was just trying make conversion but that is what you are supposed to do to become friends with people, right?
Looking over at Rowan, he gave her a bigger smile since she gave him a small but pleasant smile. She was the only one who gave him a smile. He would have kept talking to her but didn't feel like interrupting her further since she was in the middle of a battle. She did seem like a nice person but couldn't decide if she was mean to her pokemon or if she was expecting much. He went with the latter since she did say she would love to hear more about him. This made him excited, to hear someone would actually like to hear more about him. Now he decided to observe the battle closely to see if she would be able to catch this red ear colored Skitty.

Wyatt’s face grins with joy as the gastly approaches the boy. However, licking the poor bird leaves her with strong displeased feelings. She puffs out her poor soaked feathers and squawks a for a bit. She angrily looks over at the gastly who was just unsure how to react. After a few huffs of frustration, Adria squawks out her mind, “Fu-fu-funny!? You think getting all my precious clean feathers is funny!?” Adria tries to squirm out of Wyatt’s arms to try and peck at the semi-see-through ghost.
Before the little angry bird could do more, Wyatt shakes and shivers his body, tumbling the bird back into his grip in the process. Wyatt doesn’t like to see such negativity, especially towards another pokemon, which could be the reason as to why Wyatt was so bothered by Rowan’s eagerness to fight the “defenceless” skitty. Wyatt looks down at the bird, now all turned around, and speaks to her softly, “He’s only trying to be nice and say hi.” Wyatt’s mouth curls up making a small pout, trying to guilt Adria into submission. Like most of the other times, Adria calms down with the slightly sad look in the strange boy’s face. ”Le-let’s all be friends!” Wyatt says as he looks up to the gastly with a warm smile.
As Wyatt smiles happily at Ezio, he notices that everyone’s attention is shifting over to the ferocious battle between Rowan’s oddish and the wild skitty. The two other males watch with great interest as they observe the efforts of the two pokemon. It’s rather strange for the little boy. He’s never seen a battle occurs before him. His love for pokemon urges the boy to cry as he watches the two hurt each other. He needs to deal with the fact that it’s what most pokemon do. Maybe later on in this evening Wyatt will finally have to face this fact and fight with Adria just as Rowan is with her oddish. For now Wyatt simply bites down his will to charge Rowan again and see how the battle goes.
