Now seeing what a double battle really was, Scuro was glad that his friends had won. He was pleased to see that Celia was going to be okay despite her being hurt. It was only a question if Ezio would be fine. Returning Celia to her pokeball, Scuro looked at the pokeballs he had. As he moved his lips towards the pokeballs, he whispered, "Thank you" with a crescent shaped smile full of happiness.
Quickly rushing out of the mansion, he felt every ounce of his body push towards the pokemon center. Blazing through the barren town, Scuro managed to find himself looking around noticing that he was already inside the pokemon center. Feeling nervous, he calmly walked towards the desk and asked, "Can you help me, my pokemon fainted" in a quiet yet shaky voice.

(( For the sake of anyone reading this: Since he's still technically in Tarro Town and not just passing through I told him it could be in the same board. XD ))
The nurse looked up in surprise as he entered, still managing to gauge his stress level, despite his attempts to hide it. She'd seen her fair share of scared Pokemon trainers enough to identify it, even in a rather unique looking man. She smiled a little, as if to lighten the mood before he spoke, hoping to make things better. It was a strong bond, between trainer and Pokemon.
"I will see right to that." She said simply, her voice warm and welcoming as she plucked the two balls from his fingertips. "You might have to wait a few moments. Not too long, though, since you only have two pokemon." She told him this as she placed the Pokeballs in a tray able to hold six. Her Chansey was there to gather it from her.
"Feel free to talk to someone while you wait." As she said this, she waved him away. There were only two other Trainers in the room, however, and neither of them seemed to be conversing. Both were girls, with one standing and staring out a window, a solemn expression written across her features. Another, donning rugged apparel, seemed to be carving something out of wood to the left.

There he was, just thinking of the words the nurse had told him. "Feel free to talk to someone while you wait." He saw these two girls and decided he would try talking to the girl staring outside the window. Scuro walked over to her, wondering, "What could we talk about?" Feeling creep-ish and nervous, standing right behind her said, "Hi there" in a more confident tone.

The girl jumped at the voice, clearly neither noticing, or expecting him to talk to her. "Um.." She began awkwardly, rubbing her arm and glancing out the window again, "Hello." That seemed like a good start. He'd said hi, she said hello, that was how conversation worked, wasn't it?
With a huff, she finally gave him her full attention. Her cropped blond bangs rose slightly as she blew upwards. "I'm just looking at that damn gym." She announced, lips growing terse in a pout as she gestured to the window. The gym- a large mansion across the street- seemed to loom over them, in surprisingly better condition than the Pokemon center itself, as well as most of the worn city. "I heard it was a Ghost gym, and all I've got is normal Pokemon. Those don't even... hit Ghost types, right?"
She didn't even know why she was asking him. He could be in the same boat she was... but finding someone in this creepy town was definitely a plus. Maybe they were all Ghost type experts. It certainly seemed fitting, that much was sure.

Not expecting a reply, but having been given one, he felt less tense than he was before the conversion began. Looking over her shoulder, he saw the gym and marveled over how new it appeared to be. Quickly thinking of an answer to her question, he said, "I have ghost pokemon actually and they aren't hit by normal attacks." Scuro would never had known this had it not been for the battle he'd just been in moments ago. He thought about the battle and realized how his connection to his pokemon meant so much to him.
He said quietly to himself, "I should really get to know what is good against what if I want to get better." Out of curiosity and wanting the conversion to go further, he said "My name is Kevin Scuro and yours is?"

She frowned at the reply. It was expected, of course, since her poor Raticate had found himself biting air while up against his ghost competitor. She'd realized then that all of her pokemon, from the Jigglypuff she started with, to the Stantler she had just managed to capture, would be completely useless.
She certainly did not want to be stuck in this creepy town. The people here were weird, not to mention the hotel she was staying at was much too expensive for something she pictured falling down on her every night.
"My name's Tiffany Lawrence." She said, though her mind was no longer on the conversation. She had to find a way. "Say, do you have anything you'd trade for a Stantler?" She said it so abruptly, she even looked startled. That really was the only pokemon she didn't care as much about, having just recently caught him. "I need something that isn't a normal type..."

"Well," he said slowly, "I don't have anything to trade." Seeing as how he had barely just started, he didn't have anything to offer since he grew attached to his new friends. He asked if there was any pokemon she did want for the Stantler. Although he didn't know what a Stantler was, he decided to look at his pokedex to see what it was.

She shrugged in response. "Anything. Preferraby something cute at least, but..." She trailed off, wondering if it looked bad that she didn't care. The man would probably assume she intended to get rid of it the instant she won. "I'm not just gonna ditch it or anything. I get attached to Pokemon easily, I just would prefer it to be lovable on first sight. I would go out and catch my own, but the nurse said I'd be here for a while waiting for mine to heal... At least the night, she said."
As if on que, the nurse poked her head out from one of the hospital's back doors, calling out the man's name. "Kevin... Scuro?" She asked it like a question, though she was looking at him from across the room, holding up a tray with his two pokeballs. "Lucky." The girl muttered, crossing her arms again and looking back at the gym, "If you snag something you don't want... just remember me, yeah? Maybe I'll still be here."

Not wanting to seem awkward, he nodded. "If I do find a cute pokemon, I will come back and see if you are still here." Scuro quickly went and retrieved his pokemon from the nurse. "Thank you," while quickly getting back to Tiffany. He said goodbye to her while releasing Ezio out within the pokemon center.
As they walked out, Ezio took a quick glance at Tiffany and just stared intently as if he were planning a prank. Scuro didn't even have to look at Ezio to tell him to leave her alone. Now being outside, walking back to the haunted mansion, he checked his pokedex to see what a Stantler was. He didn't want to embarrass himself seeing as how he was new.

Stantler A normal type Pokemon. A Stantler's antlers give the illusion of one being drawn to their center. They were nearly hunted to extinction for these unique horns.
The Pokedex rang out loudly as he approached, causing a few of the flock of Murkrow that had gathered outside to fly off. A couple still lingered to watch him wearily, clearly wondering if they shouldn't follow suit as well. The door to the building was slightly ajar, and a light seemed to be shifting around inside.

Scuro saw these bird pokemon above and paid little to no attention as he saw the mansion. Looking straight ahead, he felt stronger than ever entering the door. Despite seeing the light shift, Ezio looked at him as they crossed the threshold yet again. This time he would be more alert and would not let his guard down. Standing where he was before when the double battle ensued, he could not help but shiver. Shiver at the thought of having almost lost a battle. Quickly shaking the feeling of doubt off, Scuro started walking through the narrow dark hallway full of uneasiness.

One of the doors slammed shut near him, before creaking open again slowly. Inside the room, something giggled before being cut short. Wind seemed to pick up outside, and the sound of it blowing through trees seemed to be prominently sounding through a distant window. Up ahead, something glimmered before going out, reigniting once more a couple moments later.
The light from the room behind him stopped moving, before going out entirely. Just in time for that giggle again, this time sounding from a different room entirely.

Feeling tranquil ,Scuro had nothing to fear as he began to close his dark turquoise eyes. He felt the darkness begin to encompass him and give him guidance. Ezio watched closely as Scuro took step after step towards the mysterious sound. Ezio himself had heard many sounds in the darkness but this was new and exciting. He always had found a prank hilarious although he was more cautious than he had ever felt before.
Scuro, now encased within his own mind, walked through a doorway but felt as if the door had opened itself, hearing the low creaking sound as he crossed through. Stopping for a brief moment, he pictured the room he was in. A big room filled with nothing but decaying walls alongside floors that didn't seem to support much weight. He knew whatever was making the sound was near. Then hearing the laughter once more, opening his eyes to reveal he was. The sound began to echo throughout the empty room along with a faint flicker of light.

The laughing stopped immediately, and the huge round eyes of a Hoothoot studied him upon entry. There was a scurry, and the Rattata he'd been mimicking tried to find a good hiding spot in the tiny room- most likely choosing to hide behind the draping, Dustox-eaten curtains.
The Hoothoot didn't move, however, tilting his head to study Scuro. <You, there, staring at me. What is it you came here to see?> It asked, staring directly at the 'morph, <Are you sure a haunted house is where you should be?> The answer, of course, was no. There was no reason for any humans to be bumbling along where they didn't belong, and this was certainly where he didn't belong.

He didn't know exactly how this pokemon could tell he could speak to them. Nevertheless he answered, "Well, I was just looking for the sound that lured me in so to speak" "Was it you making that noise and if it was, why?" Wondering to himself, "What could this pokemon be and was it a guardian of some sort?" Just realizing and shaking for a moment, he doubted this pokemon could hear his thoughts as well.
