<Brother!> The larger one warned and the smallest one immediately paused to look at the problem. It seemed the trainer had released another challenger, other than the expected ghost-type.
Both of the dog-types scattered to different sides when their opponents came at them. The smaller one seemed to consider booking it after that Gastly's tongue grazed him, but the moment he noticed his brother raising his head and letting out a piercing Howl, he couldn't back out. Targeting the already weakened looking Sableye, he narrowed his eyes and lunged forward in a Tackle attack.
The other pokemon- who had just barely missed being clawed by the psycho ghost-type- lowered his head again. His ears perked forward, feeling the energy of the Howl course through him. He took a stance, anticipating the next attack.

Celia, seeing this tackle coming for her, knew she would not be harmed. Scuro saw she was not afraid and had her use those sharp claws on the pokemon Ezio had just finished licking. Scuro seeing that Ezio was still good, had him use Lick again except this time on the other dog.
Ezio wanted to have some fun with these pooches since they meant to do harm to his friend. No doubt, Celia felt the same way. Having found a friend that understood her feelings, she seemed to push herself harder than she ever has before.

The younger Pokemon was startled by the ineffectiveness of his attack. He'd practically just... went right through her. Damn ghost types... He winced as the claws struck his pelt, ears laying flat on his head as he whimpered softly.
His brother looked at him instantly. The Lick slid across the dog's side, causing him to grimace but nothing more. Ghost was never that strong against him... Throwing himself angrily at the Sableye that had gone for his kin, he snarled and bared his teeth. At least the Bite would give his sibling enough time to regain his footing.
It was the perfect distraction, and the weaker of the two realized he'd be practically useless for this battle. <I'll blind them!> He called, unsure how good of an idea yelling his battle plan was as he turned his butt towards the Gastly and flung dust, hair, and various other things that had managed to gather in a pile on the dirty floor.

Ezio had been blinded by the dirt and dusk hurled at him. Scuro took notice as Ezio seemed to be getting slower, the poison must have started to take it toll. Ezio seemed to turn more pale and started to lose his dark purple haze that surrounded him. Scuro needed an antidote for he was running out of time. He quickly glanced at Ezio then Celia and told them to hang on.
Ezio looked at the pooches in front of him and heard Scuro say, "Use Spite on the one with their teeth bared." Meanwhile, Celia saw those sharp teeth aimed at her and tried to evade but ended up only feeling the teeth dig into her shoulder. She was starting to hurt but put through the pain. She knew she wasn't weak to any attack, but some she still could feel.
Scuro knew his pokemon would pull through and silently nodded at Celia. Celia was ready to scratch up that pup once again but felt a tingle run through her. She was stuck were she was and could not attack.

The younger one ran towards the Sableye, attempting to throw dirt in her direction as well. It was the only effective move he had, seeing as he had considerably less training than his brother. He paused to see how the other Poocheyna was doing confused to see him standing there.
He blinked once, twice. A part of him was suddenly wary of using Bite again. Shaking his head to clear it, he backed up and Howled once more, upping his attack. He tried to eye the two Pokemon, attempting to figure out which to attack next. He felt unphased, Ghost never having much of an effect on him.
His younger brother jumped over to him, standing at his side and glaring at the Pokemon and trainer. <You're not going to win this.> He barked angrily at the two ghost-types, <You're already wounded.>

Scuro saw the looks on the two dogs and heard what they had to say. He replied back to them, "That's what you think." It didn't matter as long as his pokemon would make it. Scuro quickly gave both Celia and Ezio potions so they could last a little bit longer. They seemed to be refreshed but not completely for Ezio was still poisoned and Celia still paralyzed. Waiting to see their next move, he just hoped his pokemon would not faint.
Yet, Celia was not affected by the dirt/dust attack because she had a special ability, Keen eye. Also, she was happy to see Scuro was doing well to keep both his friends safe. Both Ezio and Celia would not run from these dogs, but give it everything they had.

The two dog Pokemon exchanged a look. Honestly they had both hoped the trainer would back down, or at least the Pokemon would convince him. Neither of them expected him to talk to them. It wasn't traditional for trainers to speak to them in Pokespeak...
<Fine.> The older one said this time, lowering his head and looking up at the trainer. In a much softer whisper, he added, <Together now. Gastly first.> The tone he used was as soft as he could, knowing his brother had heard it by a twitch of the Poocheyna's ear.
With a bark, both Pokemon lunged forward, one using yet another Sand Attack, while the other lunged with his teeth bared. Both went for Ezio.

Ezio knew that soon they would be on him, it was instinct he thought since he was the weakest. Swiftly with his decreasing health, Ezio moved through the dirt and came up quickly only to face the other dog's bite. Ezio's eyes closed his eyes and disappeared then appeared quickly behind the dog. There he let out his pink tongue ready to attack. Celia had felt better before but seeing Ezio's speed and courage, rose and sprang forward with her claws at the younger of the two dogs.

The youngest whimpered as claws ran painfully down his sides. He was getting tired, but when he looked at his perfectly able-bodied brother, he just couldn't give up. It would look bad, and he'd be hearing it for weeks, at least! With a snarl, he Howled to boost his brother's attack.
Feeling the energy pound through him, the brother endured yet another Lick, shuddering. His body felt damaged, this time. Like there was a possibility he wouldn't be able to attack. However, he forced his body to continue against the Paralysis, lashing out violently towards the Gastly again with another Bite.

Quickly Scuro thought, what if he caught one of two pokemon. He could cut down their strength. Right then and there, Celia jumped in front of the bite going for Ezio. Ezio was already losing health and Celia saw this as a good opportunity to get up close to strike that dog with her claws. Ezio looked as Celia jumped between them and quickly used Lick again in hopes of taking down that dog.
Ezio was concerned that she would not make it. She knew this but still kept going as if she were his sister. That is what she always wanted but never had any family and now she did.

Trying to shirk away from the claws, the Bite-dealing brother whimpered as they clawed across his face. He snarled, and backed up, tail between his legs. His brother Howled again, but the rush that the move brought him wasn't enough to bring him into another attack.
Tiredly, he looked at the two opposing Pokemon, thinking along the same lines as Scuro. He needed to at least knock down one. The energy gained from a defeated enemy might be enough to strengthen them to take down the other... But then again... trainers could have as many as they wanted. Maybe this was only a fraction of the human's companions.
With one ditch attempt, he rushed forward with another Bite, aiming at the Scratch-dealing Sableye, instead.

Celia would not back down. Ezio looked at Scuro, quickly Scuro pulled out a pokeball. Celia looked at Scuro and said, "I will be fine." . Scuro stashed the pokeball, while Ezio used Lick again hoping he would be able to help her. There just as he saw the attack incoming, he appeared between them and used his attack. Letting out his tongue out for one finally attack.
Celia stood there staring as Ezio was ready to take the hit for her. She looked at Scuro and felt what he felt in his eyes.

With a whimper, the older of the two Poocheynas ran right into the Lick, succeeding in his Bite attack, but managing to take a tongue to the face in the process. His attack- though effective- definitely didn't help when he stumbled back out of breath. His feet froze beneath him, and he couldn't move.
With a growl, his brother was at his side, gripping the scruff of the larger dog's neck. He tugged, managing only to topple his frozen sibling to the ground. Heart pounding, he let go and stepped over him, barking, <What did you do?! Why isn't he moving?> His voice was hysterical, as if he expected his brother to be dead rather than temporarily immobile. Having not been in a lot of battles, the idea of paralysis was not one he was familiar with.

Having seen his pokemon hit the ground, Scuro couldn't help but feel a tear run down his right cheek. Scuro had never cried as a child but for one occasion. This was when Scuro was alone and had no one to understand him. What or who did he have besides himself to care for? Now looking at Celia, he didn't want to waste Ezio's sacrifice.
Quickly, Scuro took out two pokeballs. "Return". Ezio went directly into the stray beam of red light. As he held the second pokeball, Celia lunged forward toward the older dog claws out. Scuro looked on and held the pokeball firmly in his hand waiting to see what would happen.

The more able-bodied of the two leaped selflessly at the attacker, using his only physical move. Of course, the Tackle simply went right through the ghost type, and he was left ramming into air as his brother was further hurt. <Stop it!> he snapped, trying once more just to fail.
His brother didn't move to protect himself, clearly unable to, so the Scratch hit home. He was tapped out, and closed his eyes in defeat. After all, he didn't have a potion to use like the trainer did.
Celia gained two levels! Celia is now level 6! Ezio gained one level! Ezio is now level 7!
The last of the brothers backed up, knowing by now his attacks were useless. Unwilling to fall a victim at the trainer's hands, he took one last retreating look at his fallen kin and retreated out of the room, seeking refuge in the shadows of the abandoned mansion.
