Rain was about to come... And all of the water around Hinako made her wonder why she walked down this path in the first place. After all, there were water pokemon here, and if one attacked her, there would be trouble. A houndour. That's the only pokemon she had, and it walked beside her, its head somewhat low. This wasn't exactly an ideal moment for Hinako.
"What're we gonna do then Ember? Wanna keep walking, or should we find a place to camp out?" Hinako figured it was useless. He would end up doing whatever she looked like she was about to do, and that seemed to be keep on going. When his response was a small bark, she nodded to him with a slight smile. This guy wanted to outlast her way too much, but she thought it was kind of cute.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's just keep going then," She said as she looked anxiously up at the sky with her pretty blue eyes. She took another step, and she silently prayed that it wouldn't start raining.

There were clouds overhead, but no rain came. For now, it seemed pretty calm outside. It was quiet, too, and the trees shook faintly with a warm breeze. At least it wasn't cold. A small noise was heard soon, and a rustling in a bush...something was moving around in there. Care to investigate?

Hinako turned to face the rustling in the small bush, although Houndour wasn't so subtle with his reaction. He quickly rushed directly in front of Hinako, and lowered his head, spreading out his paws. He refrained from a full out bark at whatever was hiding in the bushes, but he didn't refrain from letting out a low growl, his fangs bared.
"Hang on Ember..." Hinako said, not wanting to have him rush right into battle without seeing what they were dealing with first. She took a step towards the bush, and she stomped on the ground, signaling for her Houndour to rush up beside her and finally, release his anxiety in the form of a bark.

A small blue ball seemingly attatched to some strange black, spiky wire appeared, bouncing around momentarily before disappearing into the bush. It rustled around some more, and then a Marill popped out, looking obviously displeased at the Houndour's growling and barking. <Marr...> it complained, before suddenly running forwards at the fire pokemon, attempting to tackle it!

Hinako's eyes widened as the Marill popped out of the bush and tackled her companion. She didn't even spend the time to check her pokedex, this Marill clearly wasn't happy at all. She sprung to attention, looking at Ember and she finally said, "Ember use an ember!" It just occured to her as she said that how strange that sounded. She was telling her houndour, who she had named ember, to use ember to attack a water pokemon.
As Ember jumped away from the angry blue puffball, his head lowered, fire forming in it. He lifted his head and spit out the firey attack right at the Marill.

The Marill fell back as the flames hit, rolling a bit before popping back up on it's feet. The fire attack hadn't done much, but it had still taken away some HP. Being persistant, it went for a tackle again, running at Ember once more, it's tail shaking in anger. For whatever reason, it had gotten really riled up!

Hinako watched the angry Marill closely, knowing that the ember wouldn't have done much, and when it aimed to tackle Ember once again, she reacted quickly, saying, "Ember, get out of there!"
Ember obeyed, jumping to the side and letting the Marill miss before turning at it. "Ember, growl!"
And again, a low growl was let out at the Marill. Everything was happening at such a pace it was almost difficult to keep up with and to react, but being left without a pokemon in a place like this wasn't exactly ideal. She thought for a moment, and she felt for the pokeball in her backpack. She wanted to try and catch this one.

The Marill blinked, shaking it's head as the growl hit it. Obviously displeased, it ran at Ember again, albeit a bit slower this time after taking a tumble from missing. It had been sure it would hit her. "Rill, rill! Marill!" it called in protest, running forwards again, it's stout body wobbling as it headed towards Ember.

"Ember, try another ember!" Hinako said, eying the spectacle nervously. She was glad that the marill didn't seem to know -or at least utilize- any water-type moves. If it did, there would be quite a bit of trouble. Ember, of course, had a glint in his eye as he brought his head down, letting more flames form before he brought it up and spat the ember at the angry blue puffball once again, AS the pokemon ran at Ember.
Meanwhile, Hinako held her pokeball ready. She knew that keeping a wide array of pokemon would help in future battles, and by catching a water type she would make it easier to catch other types of pokemon later. She also knew that she would have to attempt at conserving items if she wanted to move on to the next town.

The Marill, as it ran straight into the flames, fell backwards. With the speed she was travelling at, added to the flames, she was already down half her HP. Rolling back, she tumbled a bit before getting up again. Wobbling a bit, she sent a growl at Ember, trying to lower the dogs attack in an act of desperation. It wasn't going to last much longer, by the looks of it...

The growl worked flawlessly, although it was at such a point in time that a move such as that one wasn't the most effective. Ember lowered his head, the same glint in his eye as before. He was clearly enjoying the fight, and it was becoming extremely obvious what Hinako was intending.
"Ember, one last time, ember!" Hinako said, keeping the pokeball readied at her side. Even if Marill didn't appear to know any moves other than tackle and growl -sofar- she wanted to keep her party diverse, and that meant capturing many kinds of pokemon.
And so, Ember lowered his head for the last time, flames forming, and he threw his head up, spitting the fire at the marill.

The Marill dodged the attack. Whether it was on purpose or accidentally, it seemed to fall out of the way, rolling on the ground a bit before getting up on it's feet. But it was wobbling. Simply using so much energy had already tired it out big time.

Hinako held out a hand, motioning for Ember to stop there. "Alright, let's end it huh?" She asked as she pressed the button on the center of the pokeball and stepped up beside her canine companion. She pulled her arm back, about ready to throw the pokeball, and as she threw her arm forward she whispered under her breath in a barely audible voice, "C'mon... Let's do this..."

The pokeball shook a few times, wobbling around here and there before falling still; and then flying back up to Kara's hand. Name: -Your Choice- Gender: Female Level: 5 Attacks: Tackle, Defense Curl, Growl Personality: It gets upset quite easily, but still enjoys a good battle; maybe a little more than she should. Still, she will listen to her trainer, but might require a bit of discipline in order to stay in line! [/center]

Hinako looked at the ball in her hands and smiled to herself, and then to Ember. She knelt down to Ember with a grin on her face and smiled. "You're awesome, y'know that?" She smiled as she scratched the snout of her happy Houndour and stood back up, letting the pokeball shrink and placing it in the compartment of her bag that was perfect for the role of holding a pokeball, despite being intended to be used for a water bottle. She would figure that out later if it ever ended up becoming a problem. As she started to walk on, still letting Ember walk beside her, she counted out what she had.
"A fire and dark type, a water type, four pokeballs..." She said, looking up at the sky which seemed to be clearing out a bit. After letting the Marill rest a bit, she would almost definately let her wander out of her ball along side Hinako too.
For now, she walked along, Ember trailing behind her happily. Both were pleased with their first successful capture. VERY pleased.
