Atrupi sighed heavily. Since her trainer was a Pokémorph, and that of a legendary, raised by Absol and other Pokémon, she had had high expectations of his abilities. She had thought that he would easily complete tough tasks, such as navigate a desert. Or at least a path. Yet here they were, gently roasting in the blazing heat of the late June morning. Atrupi just wished that she had sticked to her feelings and not let Kamari, her trainer and Suicune 'morph, lead them on a 'short cut' which ended up in them getting lost. Hopelessly lost, in a desert. The Absol was thirsty and too hot.
Kamari, although a little annoyed at himself, was mainly finding his experience enjoyable once he got past the heat. I mean, sure, they were lost in a vast desert, off the path where there was rumoured to be quicksand and scarily strong Pokémon, but they wouldn't run into anything too strong, right? Just something like, say, a couple of levels higher than Atrupi. Any higher, and they'd run; simple. Kamari hummed a cheery song as a cool breeze washed over them.
Atrupi, at first, sighed with relief. The wind picked up a little, and, although she could see that her trainer wasn't noticing any difference as it grew stronger, the Absol could. ~Kamari... we should be careful. Find shelter as soon as you can.~ she instructed her trainer, sounding serious and just a little brave.
Kamari looked at her quizically, then realised about Absol's uncanny ability to predict natural dissasters and nodded, scanning the horizon for any sign of shelter, and dip in the earth. A cave, perhaps. The winds were really picking up now, and carrying sand on them. The Suicune 'morph knew that water was often located underground, and that if he used his painful ability to sense the easiest passage to water, it would likely lead him under ground, through a cave or something. A cave was shelter. He caught the scent of water, and dashed towards it, Atrupi bounding alongside him. He could not see the entrance to the cave; where was it?
Suddenly, Atrupi cried out. The ground was shaking. What was going on?! Suddenly, the ground collapsed all together, dumping the trainer and Absol in a warm tunnel of rock and sand. Above them, they could see that the sandstorm was pretty bad right now. Kamari coughed, looking to Atrupi. "We're not lost. We just don't know where we are." he insisted.
Atrupi rolled her eyes. ~Urgh, typical. Come on, let's see what kind of Pokémon lives in here. Plus, I bet if we go deep enough, we'll be able to drink.~ she nodded, leading the way into the dark gloom.

Nothing moved for a long time as the trainer and absol made their way through the dark tunnel. Up ahead seemed to lead into more nothingness, and it was challenging to see more than a foot or two ahead. When it seemed like the tunnel was filled with no life, two red dots suddenly appeared to their left on the ground, awful close to their legs. The eyes stared at them unblinking and unmoving as if pondering what to make of the two non-tunnel dwellers that had lurked into its home.
As if on que, another pokemon crashed in the original hole that the duo had left behind, the noise carrying through the tunnels after them. The red eyes shifted to face that side of the tunnel, but shifted back to the trainer, watching with a fixed suspicion on the strange pair.

Kamari felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end as the darkness swallowed them. True, it wasn't completely dark, for light shone from the opening they had made, but was dark enough. He could see that Atrupi, the Dark type, seemed fine with it. Of course.
He jumped about a foot in the air as, after a while of silence, he noticed two red pinpricks fixed on him. He poked Atrupi with a shaking hand, then pointed at the eyes. The Absol nodded, padding slowly up to them. Her vision was better than his, but she couldn't quite make out who- or what- it was.
Crash.
A sound which could only be that of a Pokémon falling through the hole they had made rang through the tunnel, and Atrupi tensed her muscles in preparation for attack. Kamari frowned. "It could be an innocent Pokémon, Atrupi. Do you sense that it's in danger?" he asked her. The dissaster Pokémon shook her head. ~I sense natural dissasters, not troubled creatures.~ she reminded him.
A hint of a smile played at Kamari's lips. "Well, then there's only one way to find what we're dealing with, right? Come on, race you!" he said, breaking into a run towards the hole. Atrupi, being a quatruped, was much faster than him, who only had two legs. She stopped near the spot and waited for him, before they both came into view of the hole and the general scene. What would they find?

The red eyes didn't move and followed them as they retraced their steps. The pokemon was obviously very comfortable sitting where it was and didn't bother moving even after the trainer and pokemon had gone.
The victim to the large unexpected hole was a rather angry looking sandslash. The pokemon glowered at the trainer and pokemon as they approached, arms crossed and quills extended to their most dangerous position on his back. Before they could say anything, the ground pokemon pointed an accusing finger at the pokemorph. "You! You did this didn't you? Trainers just prance along these deserts and cause trouble. Do they care? No, of course not. You'd better get me out of this hole trainer or I'll come an' show ya how we pokemon do it around here." The rest of his words turned into grumbles and slowly died as he waited for an answer to his threatening request.

Kamari noted how whatever Pokémon owned the pair of red eyes remained where it was. Once he was done helping out the trapped Pokémon, he would be sure to return to find out what it was, purely out of curiousity. He might even battle or catch it!
Atrupi bowed her head to the shrew Pokémon. This was new. She had never seen one of these before. It seemed to be an evolved Pokémon, not that she minded finding one much. It was a rather interesting encounter. Kamari swung his Pokédex on it, revealing; Sandslash, the mouse Pokémon. A Ground type. It curls up, then rolls into foes with its back. Its sharp spines inflict severe damage. Kamari approached the Pokémon, smiling slightly. "Sandslash, we didn't mean to make this hole. We were hopelessly lost, and then the ground simply collapsed beneath us. Don't worry, we'll help you out, of course." he explained. He and Atrupi started to gently attempted to help Sandslash to escape, trying not to hurt him as they did so.

"I know you don't know where ya goin'." He snapped, "This isn't the place for trainers. You can stick to the path, or better yet not come through the desert. It aint like ya do any good here anyways, rampagin' through and catching us." The Sandslash struggled a bit as they tried to get him up, growling things like, "Watch the quills!" and "You're runnin' me into the wall, be careful." He didn't bother to help much, however, not using his large claws to dig into the dirt and hoist himself up, or even lowering his quills to make the task easier.

Kamari was becoming a little annoyed at this Sandslash. True, he had fallen in a hole, but there was no need for that attitude when someone tried to help him out! The Suicune Pokémorph sighed. "I'm not trying to catch anything. Atrupi is my only Pokémon and we're trying to get out of this desert, but we lost the path. Atrupi sensed a sandstorm, and while we searched for shelter, the tunnel collapsed. Not our fault." he sighed, shaking his head as he clawed at the dirt around Sandslash's quils, trying to widen the gap to allow the Pokémon easy exit. Atrupi padded over and helped him by using her much more effective claws.
The Absol, too, was annoyed at Sandslash. However, she did not wish to show it. Instead, she clawed furiously, not managing to do much against the rock. Urgh. If all deserts were oceans once, then why wasn't the rock soft from erosion! Finally, she caught the edge of a huge chunk. With Kamari's more nimble fingers, he pulled it away and set it down to one side. Phew. Sandslash would now find it easy to step out. Neither of them touched him, for they knew how hostile he was. They both sighed in relief; the task was done.

He quickly scrambled out of the hole they had made, yelling over his shoulder as she ran off through the wind. <Ya don't belong here, trainer.>
The red eyes continued watching him and his pokemon. A ray of light shone from the hole in the roof, lighting up a portion near the red-eyed pokemon. It remained in the dark however, keeping a steady watch on the intruders. It wasn't often things traveled through here.

ooc// Sorry it's so short I only have a second!
ic// Kamari watched as the Sandslash ran off. He rolled his eyes at the last comment, flicking a purple strand of hair behind his ears. "Of course I don't belong here. I'm... lost, right?" he finally admitted. Atrupi tutted behind him. As Kamari turned around, he noticed the pool of light on the red eyes. Curious, he stepped closer. "Erm... hello. My name's Kamari, and this is Atrupi. We're sort of lost." he introduced himself, waiting to see what the thing, whatever it was, would do next. He wondered what the red eyed being was and whether it was friend or foe. Well, he would know now; he stepped just a little closer, now close enough to see the red eyed being. What was there before the Suicune 'morph?

The red-eyed pokemon seemed to hesitate before backing up again. The sound of dirt crunched lightly under the small pokemon's feet. It continued to watch Kamari intently, focus dropping only for a quick sneeze as dirt kicked up into its nose. A little puff of fire came from what was apperantly its mouth, and it looked back up again curiously. Right behind it another hole in the roof let in another beam of light behind the pokemon.

Kamari saw the small flame. A rush of possibilities as to what this Pokémon was went through his mind. Well, there were too many to list. This Pokémon could be any Fire type, and a number of other Pokémon, too. Red eyes... he couldn't remember wha Pokémon had red eyes. There were a lot. Atrupi at his side, for one. Her red eyes had the Pokémon fixed in their gaze, the navy and purple Absol curious to discover what stood before her. The trainer and Pokémon watched with bated breath as the beam of light illuminated whatever stood there. Kamari smiled. "Don't worry, we won't hurt you or anything." he said the the unknown creature.

The pokemon backed up again, finally revealing herself in the light. The pure white Vulpix seemed to shudder under the bright sun, putting her head down quickly, ears back. her red eyes were closed and she backed against the dirt wall behind her. Obviously, the albino didn't like light much. When she finally managed to scramble out of the light, she glanced around quickly then back up at the trainer. Nervously, she spoke up, <Trainers don't normally come through here.> She said, voice coming out almost a silent squeak.

Kamari's eyes widened. Woah, that's an... albino? he thought, but didn't say. They were pretty unusual, weren't they? Even in humans? And a Vulpix, too? They were pretty awesome! Too bad she didn't seem to like the light. Why was that? Atrupi was a Dark type, and even she could stand being in light. What an odd encounter.
However, Kamari felt it would be right to treat Vulpix as though she were no different to an ordninary Pokémon- minus light, that is. He kept his distance, feeling she wasn't too comfortable with company. "Yeah, I can imagine. I only came here by accident." Kamari said softly. "Do you like it here? Don't you get lonely?" he asked. Atrupi nodded. ~It's quite dark in here. I like the dark. Do you?~ she said casually. Well, it was a true statement. The Absol felt quite at home here.

The Vulpix seemed to calm a little at these words, feeling no threat in them. When the trainer had finished, she pondered a reply before finally speaking up. <I suppose I do.> She said softly, <But I'm weird to the other pokemon, so there's no real point in attempting to make friends. They all wonder if I'm defective in any way. I don't really know if I am or not.. And it's not so much I don't like light. I like how it warms up my fur, but it hurts my eyes and makes it hard to see so I keep out of it. My eyes are sensitive, you know. How did you get in here by accident?>

Kamari's white ribbons waved a little as he heard the story. He smiled a little. Weird... no friends... not sure what she's like... this Vulpix had a lot in common with him. He smiled. Vulpix was starting to grow on the Suicune 'morph. "You know, we're a lot like each other. I'm a Pokémorph of Suicune, and no-one's ever wanted to come near me other than scientists who run tests and are generally evil. For a while, I was unsure about myself, too. I've just learned to live with any surprises. As for you light problem... the nurses at a nearby Pokémon Center would probably be able to test your eyes and give you contacts or something. Or maybe sunglasses would do the trick." he grinned. He had packed some when he left for him, but perhaps he could give up a pair. Atrupi then spoke up. ~We were trying to find shelter because us Absol can sense dissasters, and I sensed one. Then a sandstorm began, and we fell through the roof.~ she nodded.
