Kara, still behind the boulders with her lucario, watched with even more fascination. These two were strong! Well, all of them were strong. She detected a strong sense of rebellion in West but an even stronger sense of it in the beedrill. If only they were tame, they'd push me to my limit. Kara thought. But like this - they are still strong. Kara blinked as another ray of spinning stars were shot out of West's mouth at the shroomish. She instinctively know that would be it for the shroomish but still didn't move as she would have normally done by now. <We go not?> the female lucario whispered behind her. <No,Ry.> Kara whispered back. <I have an idea. You may go. Use Aura if you want to speak to me.> The lucario nodded, disappearing off. Kara silently smiled. Now I will test you.

<N-No! No way!> Was all the shroomish managed to say, as he witnessed yet another swift shot coming his way. He tried to dodge, but it was in vain- the attack, of course, was impossible to escape. The Swift struck him dead-on, and he toppled over. His once incredibly puffed-up body now deflated sadly, as he laid starry-eyed in the middle of the path.
Shroomish has been defeated!
The slowpoke, as always, had no reaction, even after his partner's defeat. Nor did he have one when the fury attack hit. The beedril's sharpened forelegs poked at his skin painfully, but it was only after the bug's attack ceased when the lazy pokemon actually said a word.
<... Ow.>
The attack hurt... but not as much as it should. Thanks to curse, that was. And not only were his opponent's attacks less powerfull, his were more damaging. Satisfied with this despite his being slowed, the pokemon suddenly made a move of dashing- or rather, lumbering,- at the beedrill, lunging himself at the bug.
Slowpoke used Tackle!

The Beedrill, satisfied with his hit, came back quickly for another offensive attack. In the move of attacking, however, he was not defending and was struck by the tackle. He let out an angry noise that didn't sound anything resembling words, and jabbed angrily at the attacker. Fury Attack, again.
Leah did not know what to do. She hadn't asked the pokemon to do this, but it was anyways. She had no control over the battle, she soon realized and blinked over to River. <Dude, this is one crazy-ass pokemon.> She said, shocked and still trying to figure out what to do with the situation.

Grinning, River tossed a pokeball at the Shroomish, hoping to catch it. West was super-effective against it; but still, the little thing had good strategy and guts, too. The pikachu morph couldn't help but respect that, and he wanted to get as many pokemon he could to be with him on his journey. He watched the pokeball for a second, and then glanced sideways at Leah as he waited to find out whether or not he'd catch it.
"You're right," River said with a bored expression, folding his arms as he watched the Beedrill. Still, his eyes were a little wider than normal. He hadn't expected words like that to come out of her mouth so easily. Then again, he still hadn't forgotten her burst of emotions back when they were on the cliff side. But still... "At least he's...really focused on winning...?" River suggested, scratching his head. "We really should have looked into these pokemon a little better, huh?" First lesson of the journey, I s'pose... <Thanks.> Huh? River glanced sideways at the Skarmory, who was staring at him with the same bored expression River wore all too often. Gaping, he lifted his hands in apology. "I didn't mean it like tha-" Too late. In a flash of red light, the Skarmory had returned into his pokeball; and wasn't about to come out again anytime soon. Slapping a hand to his face, River looked back towards his pokeball, wondering if the Shroomish would be caught or not.

Kara watched as the shroomish fell over, defeated. Poor guy didn't even stand a chance. she immediately thought. That shroomish will be a breloom in not time, though. Suddenly, words shattering through her mind snapped Kara out of her thoughts. She forced herself to concentrate and they soon began to make sense. <Kara, you think too much, you know that?> It was Ryder using aura to speak to her. <I take it you heard every word of what I was thinking?> Kara asked in reply. <Every bit. Now,I go now?> Ryder replied. <If you are ready, then I am too.> With a grunt,Ryder let out a harsh cry before jumping out into the open, ready to face the two trainers. "Cari! Lucario!" she let out a harsh growl.

The pokeball wobbled to the right once, then to the left. It rolled about violently on the ground for only a bit longer, before, finally, the small button on it's front flashed. This signalled the pokemon's being captured. Name: (Trainer's Choice) Gender: Male Level: 9 Moveset: Tackle, Absorb, Stun Spore Personality: He's Proud of his battling ability and aspires to be the best, this pokemon is constantly striving to become stronger. He listens to commands well, and seems not to mind being River's pokemon at all. Besides- it's a well-known fact trained pokemon are stronger than wild ones. Ability: Effect Spore The slowpoke, however, stared at the pokeball in dismay. (No, really- he actually appeared upset.) Blinking slowly, he said- <Shroomish's been... caught?> But, as he stared at the little red sphere, he, too, failed to notice two things- the beedrill, and the lucario who'd just leaped back out onto the path. Distracted, he had no time to prepare himself for another fury attack. He stumbled back, and collapsed on the ground at the force of the attack. He tried once to get up, but failed, and fell again, thihs time defeated. Slowpoke has fainted!

Leah's eyes shot from the fight to the new trainer. She blinked once, then twice, not getting anything in her head as to why the pokemon jumped out at them. A Lucario couldn't be wild, could it? She glanced back at the fainted pokemon, quickly calling back her Beedrill who was charging at the fainted Slowpoke again for another attack. "That thing's crazy..." She muttered to Luke, "And it seems this pokemon is too. Is it wild? If not where's its trainer?"
It obviously did not come to her head that the pokemon might be angry. Or challenging, or anything negative. She eyed the fainted pokemon again, glancing down and retrieving one of her pokeballs and throwing it at the Slowpoke. She didn't know what'd she'd do with it. They weren't very cute, but she couldn't leave it here when River had its buddy.

River beamed as the pokeball fell still and he walked over, picking it up and clipping it to his belt. "Sweet! I'm gonna beat the Fighting City gym no problem." he grinned, walking back to Leah and then stopping, glancing backwards as he heard the call of the Lucario. A...Lucario? They're so rare... "What the..." he muttered, looking at it with a raised eyebrow. It obviously wanted a battle. "I don't know. But we can't really run or anything anyways...Heh. Alright then." He didn't know what level it is, but he tossed out a pokemon anyways. A Tyrogue appeared, and looked back at River in surprise. "Alright Li! Fake Out, let's go!" he called. Fighting against Fighting wasn't too bad of a match up. It was the best he had for now, anyways. Flying or Psychic would be the best and supereffectve, but...West had just battled, and Li needed more experience anyways. He hadn't had a real battle yet. The Tyrogue listened, and ran forwards at the Lucario, using the move River had ordered him to.

Ryder smiled as the tyrogue came at her at some speed. As the attack connected, she didn't even flinch. Perhaps it was something to do with her Inner Focus? Leaping back from the attack,at the silent order of Kara(who was speaking to her using Aura),Ryder lept up,hearts forming and spiralling towards the scuffle pokemon. Ryder's famous attract attack. Boy,that would leave the small fighting type in a bit of a pickle. Kara mentally laughed behind her boulder.

"Wh-what?" River blinked as the Fake Out attack didn't make the Lucario flinch at all. Clenching his teeth, he frowned as the hearts came down. He didn't know pokemon well enough to know what was keeping the Lucario from flinching, but he knew what this attack was. Attract. Crap. "Don't let those hearts hit you! Get out of the-" Too late. The Tyrogue blinked up at them, not thinking they would do any harm. Once they hit, however, he stared forwards at the Lucario in surprise, and wobbled slightly. "..way." Letting out a sigh, he lifted the Tyrogue's pokeball and returned him. He wasn't going to waste any time with this. Still, River hadn't missed the smile on the Lucario's face from earlier; this wasn't a wild pokemon. And if it was, it sure was a weird one. "Azami!" he called. The Pidgey came out in a flash of red light, staring down at the Lucario in slight surprise. "Sand attack, and follow it up!" he called out, pointing at the aura pokemon ahead of them. Not hesitating, Azami flapped her wings, sending up sand towards the Lucario before flying in after it, preparing herself for a tackle at full speed after diving down from the air above River.

As the sand hit Ryder's eyes, she was forced to close them, desperately trying to clean the sand from her face. In her blind panic, she totally forgot about the pidgey coming at her and the bird pokemon slammed into her. Though it wasn't very effective,it still knocked the lucario back out of surprise. <Use your Aura!> Kara spoke out with her aura. Rising,Ryder quickly switched to aura power, and her world of darkness fizzled into one of blues and greys. <Impressive.> Ryder spoke directly to River for the first time, before placing a paw on her chest and taking a deep bow.

(Gah, late, Cricket. Sorry. O___O) The pokeball barely did anything at all- the slowpoke made no effort to escape. As soon as he was sucked up, there was the familiar 'Ding!' Name: (Trainer's Choice) Gender: Male Level: 5 Moveset: Tackle, Curse, Yawn Personality: Hardly motivated and content being what he is- lazy and uncaring. He hardly seems to react to anything you throw at him, uless it has something to do with his friends. Even when he's attacked, he still wears a blank expression. Ability: Oblivious

((Winter, make sure to remember to give exp and stuff and levels when needed. I mean, it isn't always needed but keep it in mind.))
Leah caught the ball as it was flung back to her. She glanced up and realized a full on fight was happening in front of her without her noticing. She blinked, not sure what to do about any of it. It's not like she could just barge in during the fight. When it seemed to have ended and the foe pokemon bowed, she glanced at River, wondering what he was gonna do with that. If it was her she'd keep attacking simply because she had been attacked first. Or, challenged first. Plus she wanted the experience for her pokemon. She let Feo out of his pokeball, watching him slowly awaken. During this, she spoke up, not moving her eyes from her starter pokemon. <Who are you anyways? Couldn't you see we were busy with something.> She said to the Lucario, still snappy from before, <It's kinda rude.>

River smiled as Azami's attack hit, and the bird moved back a bit, hovering in the air and flapping her wings to stay airborn. Still, as the Lucario suddenly refocused and got back on it's feet, he frowned. What's up with this thing? Still, when it spoke and said "Impressive" he couldn't help feeling a tinge of pride. Not that he'd ever let the pokemon know that. Glancing sideways, he noticed that Leah had caught the Slowpoke. That was good. When she spoke up, he had to agree. "You're not wild." he added. "What's the deal?" Azami, figuring it was over, came back and landed on his shoulder, tilting her head in curiousity at Ryder.

"She was just testing to see if you were good enough for the gym." A voice spoke out. The accent was a little difficult, and the newcomer seemed to have difficulty with a few words, but it was decipherable if one concentrated. This,of course, was Kara. Slowly, the walked out from her hiding place before continuing, stumbling a bit over the human words. "You do meet...uh..fighting types there, right?" What the others didn't know, and that Kara was going to to surprise them with later, was that she was the gym leader of Fighting City. And she had heard the pair's conversation as they came into the area. "The gym leader's away on training,I think. She was supposed to be back later on today." There was a pause. "Where are my manners? The name is Kara. And my partner,Ryder." Kara turned to her lucario,Ryder, effortlessly switching to poketongue, the language she was more fluent in. <Ryder? How are your eyes?> <Not too bad. The sand isn't bothering me too much.> Ryder nodded. <That was an interesting fight.> <Good.> Kara nodded, before switching back to human. "And your pokemon?"
