Thorne barely dodged the attack, feeling a tiny bit more energy as the absorb took it's effect. Luke watched with a bit of a frown. Thorne had no regular attacks, only special attacks. He couldn't take advantage of any close range. The Cacturne sent out another poison sting, before taking a few steps backwards. At least he didn't lose his footing on the sand or anything, but still...

Another miss. The Doduo's seemed to be faster now that they felt the battle lean towards them, they stepped forward again, one reaching his beak down, flicking a good amount at the cactus pokemon while the other leaned his head back, aiming another peck and lashing forward again. <Two heads are better than one.> The one on the ground snapped between a flick of sand that puffed around him. The other glowered in that direction but didn't say anything as he attacked.

Thorne was hit again, and staggered backwards, catching his footing quickly on the dune of sand. Luke winced. This wasn't going to turn out well. "Thorne, you idiot- let me get someone else to fight, you're going to lose!" Luke protested, taking a step forwards. A poison sting flew right past his face, and Luke blinked. <Leave me alone,> the Cacturne snapped. "You're wasting energy! And moves!" <That don't matter!> Thorne retorted, sending another absorb at the Doduo's. He was down a fair bit of HP already; half of his energy was already gone from the attacks. The flying type was really doing a number on him. Luke watched in annoyance. If the stupid thing fainted it wouldn't be his fault. Still...what a drag...

They stepped backwards excitedly to see their plan had worked, completely ignoring they were still being attacked. The poison sting hit them, sending a shooting pain through their body and sent them stumbling back. <Ow!> one snapped, <I don't feel so good either.> <Stupid plant poisoned us.> The other grumbled right before the absorb him them both, draining some HP. They turned to face him, and in one flash they were on him, attacking with a Quick Attack.

Thorne was hit once again and fell back, tumbling to the ground this time and standing up shakily. Still, he was happy he'd hit them. <Come on,> he panted, obviously exhausted, <That the best you got?> Luke put a hand to his forehead. Thorne was an idiot. That was clear. Still, he reached in his pocket for Shaoran's ball. His Tropeus would probably defeat them too but not as quickly; he was still at a type disadvantage like the Cacturne. Nonetheless he'd let Thorne learn his lesson the hard way. He probably needed to, Luke figured, so he waited.

The Doduo was slowing down as well, the poison really taking its toll. They leaped forward again though, one growling as the other dove in for another Peck attack. Neither of they paid any attention to the trainer, not fully realizing that if they beat this pokemon another would come.

Thorne's speed was seriously lacking, and he got hit again. His HP was at a minimum now, only slivers of energy left. He shook and tried hard not to fall over. "Stupid," Luke snapped, walking forwards. "That's what you get when you make mistakes and get so full of yourself. Get some rest, I'll have to wait to heal you." Luke sighed, returning Thorne as he let out one last defiant lunge towards the Doduo's, stopping him in his tracks. "Come on, Shaoran." With a blast of red light the Entei was released, looking strangely out of place in the vast desert and in front of the Doduo. "Bite!" Luke commanded, and Shaoran immediately lunged forwards, his fangs bared as he went to snap at the small bird pokemon.

The bite attack weaked the bird pokemon severly, sending them stumbling back in pain. The Doduo stepped forward after they recovered, ready for another attack. Before they could do anything more, a rush of poison coursed through their body and sent them crumpling towards the ground. They closed their eyes, expecting another rush of poison, but none came.
Doduo survived the poison. Doduo is no longer poisoned. Thorne gained 1 level and is now level 6! Shaoran gained 1 level and is now level 6!

(( )) Luke fished around for a pokeball, tossing it towards the pokemon lying on the ground. It seemed wrong to just leave it there, lying in the sun; something would surely either eat it, or it would melt from the heat. He had already taken off his long-sleeved blue shirt, and was just wearing his sleeveless brown one along with his darker brown vest. Shaoran looked pretty happy at defeating the Doduo, but the big pokemon was already getting hot. "Thanks," Luke said, returning the entei quickly and glancing back towards the pokeball. [/center]

The pokemon didn't make any sort of struggle, simply lifting one head a little before and smacking it violently against the other head. Before either could say anything, or could retaliate, the red light surrounded them. It sucked them into the ball which went still almost instantly, as the pokemon inside had no energy to fight it. Gender; Male Level; 7 Moveset; Growl, Peck, Quick Attack Personality; Both the heads on this bivker with each other on a regular basis, often becoming violent and forgetting whatever task they had before them. When in battle, however, the two heads work together and can be a rather tricky opponent to fight against. Ability; Early Bird: SLEEP conditions lasts for half as long Up far ahead, a Cubone walked, dragging his bone behind him. There were no other pokemon in that direction, but a short distance behind Luke, a few Taillow And Starly had gathered on a tree that stood alone in the vast desert.

Luke smiled as the pokeball flew back to him and clipped it to his belt. It was nice to have another pokemon; and a flying type, at that. Hopefully Thorne and him wouldn't fight too much...Though, he admitted as he looked down at the pokeball, it'd be tough to name it. For some reason he wanted to name it Sebastian. It'd be easy to just call him Seb that way, and it seemed a good name for if the bird ever evolved into a Dodrio.
His eyes raised to look ahead of him, and he raised an eyebrow before glancing all around him to look at the pokemon that were around. The Taillow's and Starly's looked cool, but they were a little ways behind him...he didn't want to backtrack. And he did like Cubones... Well, I like all pokemon, he reminded himself with a bit of a chuckle, and kept walking forwards to it. "Hey there," he greeted the Cubone happily, standing just a short ways away from it. Silently he hoped it wouldn't suddenly attack him. He'd have to throw out a pokemon right away...

The Cubone didn't attack. It didn't even seem to notice Luke as it hobbled along, bone making a wavy line through the desert sand. He stopped at a cactus, looking up and down at if it were a foe before making a half circle around and continuing on its way. It seemed like the pokemon wasn't going to stop walking any time soon, or take notice of the trainer behind him.

Luke frowned, tilting his head, and followed the Cubone, finally jogging to stop in front of it. Crouching down, he put his hands on his knees and then lifted one to wave and smile. "Hello!" he said, wondering why the little thing didn't notice him. It sure was cute, though. He felt girly thinking that, but he couldn't help it. Who knew a creature with a skull on it's head and carrying a bone as a weapon could be classified as "cute".

The Cubone fell back when the trainer came in front of him, clearly surprised. He looked around as if expecting this to be an ambush. When he saw no one else, he sighed, lifting his hands and making a series of motions with them. First he pointed at Luke with his bone, then himself before jumping forward, hands outstretched and saying, "Boo!" After this, he shook his head violently and shrugged.

Luke blinked. Boo? Oh...he must have surprised him. Scratching the back of his neck, he laughed nervously. "Sorry," he said, lifting both of his hands in an almost guilty motion. Opening his eyes a bit wider, he looked at the little creature in curiousity. "What are you doing here in the desert?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Then he realized it was probably the most stupid question he could have asked. Cubone was a desert pokemon. Luke, what is wrong with you...
