Letting a yelp out, Ember was thrown back a few feet. Bad. He didn't weigh much, but the Sudowoodo had used a type advantage.
She wasn't sure what to do, Hinako. She was faced with sending Ivy out to battle for the first time, or leaving Ember out in a fight where he had almost no hope of winning.
<Didn't hurt at all!> Ember declared, snarling at the tree-like pokemon.
"Ember, try again, once more," Hinako tried, though her confidence had faded slightly.
The dog's ears tilted back, but he obeyed, shooting another Ember at the tree.

The Sudowoodo giggled, and the second ember hit as well. Frowning a bit, it ducked down, picking up a bunch of boulders from the ground- and hurled them at Ember. It was a rock throw! <Yeah! Get em!> the other Sudowoodo's cheered on from behind the battle, punching their... branches out?

"ARO!" Ember yelped as he was struck by one of the rocks, albeit, one of the smaller rocks. Type advantages. Gotta remember them Hinako, gotta remember.
"Ember, enough," she called, holding out Ember's pokeball. In a flash of red light, the dog-like pokemon returned to his ball. She reached down to her keychain, switching the ball for Ivy's pokeball. she glanced at the pokemon, almost as if looking for approval before she wordlessly released Ivy. <This isn't good, is it?> She asked, though it sounded more like, "Saur?"

The rock pokemon frowned a little bit as the grass pokemon was let out, but didn't mind much. Although, it was now at a disadvantage. Lifting up even more boulders, the Sudowoodo sent another rock throw towards the opposing pokemon!

"Ivy, dodge," Hinako commanded dryly. She really did hope that Ivy didn't get hurt the same way that Ember had. "Follow up with a Leech Seed."
"Ivy," she replied calmly, shifting to the side to avoid the rock throw. She leaned forward, bud in the air, opening slightly to shoot out a small seed. A Leech Seed attack.
