The Starly smirked faintly, veering sideways very suddenly. His ploy had worked. Once he'd dodged the Marill's attack, he swerved. From behind, he attacked with a quick attack this time, hopefully leaving Bubble no time to dodge. Although, in a tiny part of his little 'birdbrain', he was kind of having fun with the entire thing. Not that he would admit it.

Hinako's eyes widened. No, there wasn't a way she could see for Bubble to dodge the attack, and all she could see to do was yell, "Bubble, use a Defense Curl!"
Bubble obliged, curling into a ball to prevent from having too much damage being done by the attack, though she was knocked down and out of the air by the attack. Not wanting this to end up bad, Hinako dug around for Bubble's pokeball. Oh, I hope she's ok!

The Starly flew back up, landing a little ways away on the ground, his head tilted sideways as he ruffled up his feathers. They settled back onto him slowly, and he blinked his large black eyes, which were much wider than they had been. He seemed impatient for the trainer to make a move, but he didn't make one himself. For a wild pokemon, he seemed to be a ridiculously intelligent one.

"Bubble, that's enough," Hinako called, retreiving the exhausted pokemon with her pokeball. She frowned as she dug out another one, this time the pokeball of her canine-companion.
"Ember, you finish this!" She called, sending out the dog of a pokemon. With a bark, Ember frowned.
<She lost to you?> He asked curiously.
"Ember, use ember!" Hinako called to her dog, who nodded. With a snarl, he spat the fire attack at the bird.

The Starly looked at the canine with a bit of a frown. It was a lot more aggressive than the Marill. Or, at least, it appeared to be. <Well I suppose so,> he responded, referring to the fact that the Marill had been returned. However, as he was responding, he hadn't thought of actually avoiding the ember attack that was coming at him.
Falling back awkwardly, his wings splayed out, he fumbled to get up and into the air, about a meter or so off the ground. It was after the attack he realized he was exhausted; the marill had put up a formidable fight and that ember attack had done more damage. He was running out of time. A bit frustrated at this realization, he lifted himself up a little higher before using a quick attack down towards Ember.

<Heh. She really that far behind?> Ember barked with a smirk as the Starly stumbled back. This one didn't seem that strong to him, seeing as he'd seen only this weakened state. He lowered to the ground slightly, snarling at the Starly who thought to attack him.
"Ember, once more, ember!" Hinako called to her companion.
Another snarl as he formed the attack in his mouth, spitting the attack straight at the incoming Starly.

The Starly grimaced, but didn't bother averting his attack and dove straight through the ember. His energy nearly drained completely, but he kept going anyways, determined to at least get one good hit in before he toppled over. At least if he was caught, he'd belong to a pretty good trainer. He didn't mind the idea anyways- this was the first one he'd come in contact with who had put up a good fight.

As the Starly shot through the attack, Hinako readied another pokeball. Ember hadn't dodged it, the attack was meant to turn the Starly away or stop him before he could land a hit. The dog fell back, wincing, but bounced right back quickly.
Hurling the pokeball, the blue-haired trainer let out a breath of air. Her pokemon had gotten hurt. Badly. She was going to try and catch this Starly, and she smiled lightly.
<So that's it?> Ember barked, sounding slightly upset that his fight had ended so quickly.
"Sorry."

The Starly had been expecting the throw of a pokeball, and decided to not struggle. Whether he was too tired to, or whether he actually wanted to embark on a journey with someone wasn't clear. Or, maybe it was both. Nonetheless, the pokeball let out a satisfied 'ding!' and then bounced back to Hinako's hand. Name: -your choice- Level: 8 Gender: Male Attacks: Growl, Tackle, Quick Attack Personality: Most of all, this pokemon is SMART. He knows how to manipulate opponents in battles, he has a witty attitude, and is an extremely clever fighter- without even needing commands. However, this means he won't always listen to what his trainer says! But, even if he doesn't, it might just be for the better. Ability: Keen Eye : This Pokémon cannot have its Accuracy lowered. "Ah..." Hinako murmured, holding the ball in her hand. She stared at it for a moment and shook her head. "Bubble's gonna hate this..."
Ember barked to Hinako, and the two nodded to one another. She reached down to pet the firey dog, and then began to walk again. <Ah, that was too short!>
"Heh," Hinako laughed sadly. Either way, Bubble had gotten hurt. She wasn't happy about it no matter how she looked at it.

(( Pssst, you probably have potions/berries in your starter pack. You can heal her. XD ))
Up ahead, a cluster of what looked like trees blocked the path. But, as you neared them, you discovered they weren't trees at all. Well, they were, and weren't. As you approached, they all turned to face you, and stared back unblinkingly. "Sudo." one said boredly, pointing with a branch towards Hinako. <Hey.> it turned to it's friends now, who watched curiously. <There's a human.> They all stood blankly, not sure of what to do- thanks to the thick trees on either side, getting by them was the only way through the path.
((Don't worry, it won't be something ridiculous like getting a potion like it was in the crystal game. xD ))

"Huh?" Hinako asked curiously, staring at the odd trees. This wouldn't end up like that pair of spinark, would it? "Ah, can one of you move?" She tried to ask.
<...Trees? Seriously?> Ember barked in annoyance.
"Um, hello?" She called, stepping forward and waving. She knew, deep down, this was all in vain. Still, it couldn't hurt.

(( Forgot this: Bubble gained two levels! Ember gained one level! ))
The Sudowudos stared blankly at Hinako, and exchanged glances. <Do we have to?> one of them asked lazily. <We never move for no REASON,> one of them drawled. <Let's make her do somethin' for us like the other trainers.> <What should we make her do?> one chirped up, instilling a moment of silence. Finally, the one in front spoke. <I've got an idea! Let's make her battle us!> <Not all of us,> one laughed. <We'd win by a landslide. That'd be borin'.> <Then just me,> one of the ones in the back stated, walking forwards and grinning towards Hinako and the dog.
"If you can beat me, they'll move!" she stated proudly. The Sudowudos beamed, waiting patiently to see the battle unfold.

Ember stayed close to Hinako, and frowned. They were taking so long just to discuss how they didn't want to move, not to mention much of what they said was insulting. He growled, impatiently, <Just shut up and make a choice already!>
He had spoken too soon, for one of the tree-like pokemon stepped up to battle them.
Hinako stared, and then turned her head to look at her dog-like pokemon. On one hand, she trusted Ember more than her other pokemon. On the other hand, she didn't want him to get hurt.
But, she did trust him more. So she left the dog out and smiled. Calmly, she answered, "Will do. Ember, use Ember."
The dog, letting out a snarl as he collected the flames in his mouth, spat the fire attack at the tree and darted in front of Hinako. He hadn't lost a battle yet, and he wasn't intending to.

The Sudowoodo didn't have time to move out of the way, and though the attack hit, it barely did any damage, being half as effective as any normal move would be. The pokemon in the background chuckled a little, an odd collection of strange laughs emitting from them as they did so.
The tree-like pokemon ran forwards, just like a human runs, and went to kick the dog with it's foot. It was using Low Kick!
