"Miiiii...?"
The Misdreavus gave her trainer a quizical look. Courtney, after weaving her way through the streets of MArble Village, had finally found her way out and to the road. However, instead of making her way back towards her first gym, she had taken the other way, much to the ghost's curiosity.
"Yes, I know, Ebony. But there's something I want to chech out up ahead. A man who gives away pokemon or something- I heard a rumor down in the village before I got you. Then we can head back."
Ebony simply nodded, and began to float ahead of her trainer, keeping an eye out for trouble. She didn't want to dissapoint her new mistress, and was willing to battle if she had to.

Mysterious eyes watched them the side of their traveling trail, keeping quiet behind a large tree. The Mr. Mime didn't know what the girl meant by a man who gave away pokemon, but he knew he could use that to his advantage. He stepped forward into more clear view, deliberately standing in their path and waiting for them. It was good to be seen, it made it look like he didn't have anything to hide. Which, in truth, he really didn't, he just wasn't planning on being completely honest. He tried to look like a charming sales person as they approached, but he didn't really know what one would look like since he'd never seen one.. He still tried, keeping his face pensive, making it look like he was deep in thought.

"Well then, what's this?"
She'd never seen a pokemon like that before in Hoenn. Ebony, from where she'd been traveling from farther down the road, had spotted the Mr. Mime first and was already hovvering above him curiously.
Courtney, however, did not bother picking up the pace any. Instead, she was still walking along, her usuall surly self. So the misdreavus simply stared at him, in a rather eerie way.
Once the young woman finally reached the spot where the two pokemon stood, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Lay off, Ebony." The pokemon turned to her trainer, and scooched back a few inches, now staring Courtney in the face instead of her fellow pokemon. It didn't seem to bother her, however.
Speaking to the Mr. Mime now, she said, "So? What do you want?"

The Mr. Mime looked up at the Misdrevous before taking a glance at the trainer. He crossed his arms in front of him and listened politely to what the trainer had to say, trying to look as if every word spoken meant everything to him. When she was done he filled his face with utter confusion and misunderstanding. His eyes narrowed, but not too much that'd he'd appear angry, but just enough to get the confusion across. "I'm sorry, but you must be mistaken. For you see, it's not what I want, but what you want! You are quite lucky, as today you are to win a marvelous new pokemon! Did I, by any chance, overhear that someone had spoken about me in the village? Fascinating! Glad to know I'm so well-known for my giving behavior. As you can see, it isn't about me but about YOU and your marvelous journey into the pokemon world." He nodded to add emphasis, "Sounds thrilling, doesn't it? All you really need is to give me ONE, that's right, just ONE pokeball to receive a fabulous pokemon. However, for a one time deal you can give me TWO pokeballs and recieved our limited time offer on our special and unique pokemon. So? How does this make you feel? Do you feel the need for excitement? Does the thrill of this send shudders of enjoyment down your spine? So, what'll it be! Do you want this pokemon that is almost completely free!?" He started to talk very fast, and all that could be caught from his words was, "Refunds, guarantee, training, and level." He smiled at her smugly, waiting for an answer.

As Mr. Mime spoke, a frown spread across the Magma's face. What was this thing? It certainly did not look like a human, but it spoke like one. It kinda reminded her of a cheesy game show host, the excited way he spoke and his annoyingly smug face.
"Hrmph. Nice try, though I must admit- you're a good actor." She snorted, and rolled her eyes. however, under her hood and dark bangs, the action would be rather hard to see.
"But I know for a fact that the guy we looking for is just that- a guy. Er, well, a human. Not... whatever the hell you are. And I'm not gonna fall for a pathetic trick like that, anyway. If you even call that a trick. So I might as well just walk away, unless, of course, you're looking to battle me. But that would be just a waste of my time. And yours. Not to mention embarassing for you."
With that, she side-stepped around him, expecting Ebony to follow. However, the ghost pokemon did not move, as she was staring at Mr. Mime intently again. Though she didn't say anything, and it didn't look it any, perhaps she was looking to fight... or maybe was just interested in what he had to say in response?

The Mr. Mime frowned, but nothing else changed. <Sorry, Miss, but if you are not interested, please take my card and maybe you will be later.> He placed a two of hearts on the ground next to her feet, bowed very deeply, and turned around and left without another word. The two of hearts had no contact information or anything, and it was evident that he did not understand this, and probably didn't even know what the card was or what it said.
Up head, nothing seemed to stir in the long trail, but the stomping of feet could be heard from far ahead.

"Yeah, okay. Courtney replied, her back still turned to the Mr. Mime. She only tuned around when she thought he was gone, and his footsteps had long since dissappeared. She began walking again, and Ebony was about to follow when something else caught her eye. Instead of following her trainer, she took a moment to examine it.
The item was the card that Mr. Mime had left, the two of hearts. It was only a simple playing card. the pokemon picked up the object in her small mouth, (As she had no other means to carry it,) and picked up some speed to catch up to her trainer. She soon found Courtney at the side of the path, waiting. "And where have you been?"
As an answer, Ebony floated over to her mistress, placing the two of hears on her lap.
"What's this? The playing card that weird pokemon left?" The trainer took it into her hands and flipped it over. It wasn't very special. She held it back up to her pokemon, who took it back into her mouth. "I don't understand why you'd want it so much..." But Ebony just stared at her trainer blankly. "I mean, I have nothing against you keeping it. It's just sort of weird. And you certainly can't go around carrying it in your mouth all the time... here..."
After pulling a loose red thread from her hoodie, Courtney began digging through her bag for a pen.
Once she had found what she was looking for, she took the card back from Ebony and punched a hole at the top of it with the pen. The trainer then took the red thread, and tied the charm around her pokemon's neck in front of her row of pearls. The ghost hummed in delight, and marveled at the way it danced in the air as she did.
"Okay, happy? Let's get moving." The two began their walk again, just like before, with Ebony's card dangling proudly from it's string.

Up ahead, the stamping got louder, and was quickly followed by the bashing of two hard objects being smacked together. The culprit was two large Stantlers, horns locked in combat. They clashed and pulled back before clashing again, determination set in both of their faces. To the side of them a Shiny Stantler watched, focused on who she thought would be the best male. They were both pretty even so far though, and she was having a tough time choosing.

Courtney smiled. "That's more like it," She murmered, then turned to her pokemon.
"You know any moves other then ghost-type ones, right?" Ebony seemed thoughtfull for a moment, bobbing her head in a 'Yes' motion. She floated to hover directly in front of the Magma, facing square at the group, wondering if this had been a good idea. She'd met a few of these pokemon before at the lab, and some of them had known super-effective psychic-type attacks. She prayed these Stantler did not.

((I always forget to give multiple options with what pokemon to choose from to interact with. XD So I'm adding one in now.))
None of the Stantler noticed the trainer, continuing their testosterone-filled battle. Both being too content with battling the other. Shiny Stantlers, after all, were very hard to come by.
Far to their left the trainer also had the option to come across a very quiet looking Horsea in a puddle at the end of a small stream, staring at a rock not far off.

With a quick look towards the horsea, Courtney immidiatly ignored the sea dragon pokemon. Her mind was already set on the shiny stantler, or at least one of the males.
"Okay then, Ebony. Lesse how well the gold one can take a Psybeam!"
The misdreavus tensed up for the attack, as her red-beaded necklace began to glow. A pink/red beam shot from the biggest pearl in the middle, towards the deer pokemon. However, from the angle the attack was shot, Ebony had not realised that the beam was also heading towards the intertwined antlers of the males.

There was a snap as the attack made contact with the horns, exploding and crashing into the two pokemon's faces. They fell back, shaking their head in confusion. The Female had taken a step back and had barely been missed. She reared up in terror and turned to face the attacking pokemon. Instead of waiting for the other two to recover, her antlers glowed a faint purple as she used Astonish. The purple grew around her antlers before flashing quickly and subsiding.

Ebony flew back in the air, taken aback at the sudden flash. She too shook her head in confusion, cringing and not able to attack. Her trainer swore.
"You no-good ghost! Get in there and attack!" She commanded, but with no reaction from her pokemon. She sighed, took out Ebony's pokeball, and withdrew her.
Ebony wouldn't stand a chance against that astonish attack. I'll need someone who won't have much of a problem battling these three... Of course, her only other pokemon was just what she needed.
Now she reacxhed into her travel sack again, and took out another pokeball. It looked normal on the outside, but what was inside was something to be proud of. Or, so Courtney hoped.
As if from nowhere, a gigantic beast appeared before the three deer pokemon, golden body writhing. The rock-snake reared up threateningly.
"Argol, Bind the funny-looking one. We don't need to worry about the others."
Her pokemon obeyed, and her long tail whipped around to grab at her fellow shiny, wrapping around her and squeezing tight. [/center]

The female backed up a bit as the rock-snake lunged towards her, not being quick enough and stumbling over her own feet. In a matter of seconds she was trapped in the embrace, struggling even though it was quite a pitiful effort. She let out a noise similar to a squeal and the boys watched, not sure what to do. Neither of them wanted to fight this pokemon, even to win her over. After a second or two of fighting to get out, the Stantler let out another Astonish attack, hoping to flinch the victim long enough to break free of the attack.
