Aotarou is a runt of a minun, being several inches shorter than a normal Minun or Plusle. Like most Minun, he has blue ears and a blue, minus-sign tail, along with small blue markings on his front paws. On the right side of his left ear, he has a very thin scar carved through at the midway point, right where the blue begins. It cannot be noticed unless one were to look for it. His right ear is crooked back at a ninety-degree angle. Aotarou is a very scruffy, tattered Minun, like a stray dog for that matter. His fur is often times dirty, and unkempt. Unlike most Minun, Aotarou has blue eyes.
Personality;
Despite being a runt, Aotarou is no coward. Since he was young, he cared for his younger sister, and grew up quickly. While he is small, and does indeed grow startled easily, Aotarou needs only find his resolve to know that he will indeed make it through ok. Being young, one would expect Aotarou to be at least a little bit childish, but his no-nonsense nature would surprise you. He is completely and utterly bent on finding his sister, and, if he finds himself too settled down, he will pick himself up and begin searching for her again.
Aotarou is not, however, very bright. He's too headstrong and too reckless, and will get himself into quite a bit of trouble. He'll risk his life to get what he's looking for, but he won't play it safe even the slightest bit. He'll run headlong into a wall if he thinks it will bring Momo back.
While not without a laughing side, Aotarou finds it very hard to settle down. He'd far rather check out maps than play tag with friends, and finds himself lost in thought far too much. However, he knows how to have fun occasionally. Though hard to settle down, the antics of anyone who reminds him of Momo (childish and bubbly), will always make him laugh.
There are a few things that will cause Aotarou to ruthlessly attack anyone. One, making fun of his goal. Two, making fun of his sister. Three, harming his sister. If set off, Aotarou will mercilessly strike down anyone in a fit of rage, not even realizing what happened to him afterwards. The one time this happened before, he separated himself from Momo, and he has never forgiven himself for it.
History;
Aotarou was abandoned once, his parents leaving him alone in the woods. At least, that's what he thought. When he was only three months old, Momo found him, rolling a peach to him with her head. To the starving Aotarou, this was salvation. Starved, Aotarou began to dig into the peach, not questioning where it came from or who this tiny plusle was. He was too young, too irresponsible, and too hungry to care.
When he had filled his empty stomach, Aotarou and Momo had that brief moment of wondering where the other came from. Momo was small, younger and smaller than him, but she helped him. The two began to think of each other as siblings, rather than friends. Aotarou, being older, vowed to protect her, despite being too young and too weak to effectively do so. Nevertheless, Momo accepted the offer, smiling.
The two lived a difficult life, Aotarou stealing food to keep his sister nourished, while letting himself starve. He ate scarcely, and thus became small, a runt. While Momo realized this was happening, she felt powerless to help. Instead of letting him starve himself, Momo began to push him half of the food he brought for her, waiting until he ate it to stop insisting that he do so.
At one point, Aotarou was caught. Not by a rescue team or anything like that, but by a simple pokemon who didn't like the idea of being stolen from. A bully. The Arbok he had taken from was not happy to see that these children had taken from him, but he didn't confront Aotarou immediately. He followed him back to Momo instead. When he saw what was going on with Momo, he smiled and crept in, displaying his crest proudly and paralyzing the two with a Glare.
He began to taunt Aotarou and Momo, calling the boy a no-good runt, an insignificant worm, and many other things while the two watched their stolen food taken from them, thrown into a nearby river. When it was all gone, the Arbok turned his gaze to Momo, and a smile came over his features. He flicked Momo into the water, and Aotarou felt something ignite within him. Something snapped, and something sent him diving into the water despite his paralysis. The Arbok was baffled. He hadn't expected the boy to jump into the water, but it really wasn't his problem. The Arbok left while Aotarou attempted to save his sister.
The water was too strong for Aotarou to swim effectively in, especially while paralyzed. The tiny Minun paddled for all his worth, but still couldn't get close enough to Momo to pull her out of the water. Momo couldn't swim, she fell, she sank, Aotarou feared she took in water. "Momo!" he screamed, right before sinking under the water himself. He pulled himself up, and, when the chance came to him, he snatched a branch from above him and held on for dear life. He screamed for his lost sister, and he called for her, but he was unable to hear her calls.
Discouraged and broken, Aotarou waited in the water, hoping something would take him. He considered letting go of the branch he clung to so dearly, but did not. Could not, When the morning came, a Goldeen saw him, and sighed to herself as she helped him out of the water. "Always the drifters," she sighed.
"Y-you mean I'm not the only one?"
"No, my friend picked up a plusle the other day, and I picked up a couple of seedot. They always fall from the trees, those ones."
"Fantastic!"
With that, Aotarou ran down the river, sprinting alongside the raging water in hopes that he would meet up with his sister, hope coming to him as he continued! Further! Further! Faster! Further!
But when he got to the mouth of the river and saw only faded pawprints, he lost hope again. Aotarou feared he had lost his sister, and his best friend. No, he decided, he would find her. He would be the one to do it himself. Aotarou found his resolve, and began to search for his sister.
