Thaisa sat on the edge of the sand box, feet buried in the warm sand. She had left Lina to be by herself. It wasn't that she was depressed or anything, but she enjoyed being alone with her thoughts. Most Cubones did. Though she hadn't had much contact with her trainer something told her that's why he left her here. To make friends, be social. But she didn't want to. Why would she want to make friends who she would have to leave when they got picked up or she did? The Cubone sighed, wiggling her toes in the dirt as she thought about this. She should do what her trainer had asked, but she didn't want to. She wasn't as loyal as the Paulina was. Lina was quick to follow any orders by their trainer, even if it seemed rash.

Flint was having some alone time too, his stubby iron feet practically magnetized to the sandy floor. His eyes were closed as he imagined himself in his desert haven, knocking sand around with his huge Aggron brother. It was friendly rivalry of who could kick the most sand in the air. His brother did win everytime, sometimes engulfing other Pokemon in his massive piles of gravel.. But he was always a good sport to Flint. He had lost his brother, so now he had Reidel.. And he was less than a brother to him. He was more of an owner, a commander. Maybe one day he'd be a close companion, but even then, he'd never replace his real family.
The shiny Aron shoved his foot forward, watching as the sand splurt up like water. He sighed and laid down in the middle of the court, feeling pretty lonely at that moment.
Glancing at the Cubone, he gave a little snort at the irony.

Thaisa played with a rock between her feet. Her eyes watched the newcomer join her in the sand box, a ways away. She looked back down, intending to ignore the other pokemon. She did watch, however, out of the corner of her eye. It didn't appear like the other pokemon took interest in her. He did look up once, however, and she wondered if he would approach her. Instead, she saw his face change in her direction and a snort come from him. Was he laughing at her? She looked the other way, embarrassed. She realized he probably hadn't know she was watching him since she was actually facing the ground, but she still felt embarrassed. Why would he laugh at her? She did nothing funny.
Now angry, her head shot back in his direction. She picked up her bone and stomped over to him, glowering. <What's so funny?> She asked shortly, not looking pleased. This is why she liked being alone.

Flint didn't see her reaction, since he tilted his head back and continued thinking quietly to himself. As the Cubone sat embarrassedly, the Aron distractedly wondered what was at the bottom of the sandbox. It couldn't be more sand, could it?
What's so funny, Flint heard from the side of him. Not picking up on the irate undertones. <Oh, nothing,> he said in a light joking voice. He looked up, saw the angry Cubone, and jolted with a <Whuhh!>
He didn't expect her to be there at all, looking.. angry... With wide eyes, Flint panicked and began to plead innocent. He was not ready to be jostled around by a bone. <Ooh, hey.. Um, oh before, you were saying? When I giggled? Uh, see.. Simeone told me this really funny joke about a Cubone and you reminded me of it..>

The Cubone relaxed, feeling better that the laughing was not actually directed at her. <Oh, well that's good.> She said, feeling awkward, <Sorry for getting so mad. I thought you were laughing at me.> She didn't know what else to say so she just hovered there, watching nothing. She was very socially challenged, and was trying to figure out what a normal pokemon would do in this situation. Probably not stand there like an idiot.

Flint frantically began to make a joke where a Cubonewalked into a bar beforeshe bought the little white lie. The Aron breathed out in relief, although feeling bad for lying, but he wasn't making fun of her anyway. The truth was too complicated. Who wanted to know about lonliness? <Nope, I wasn't.> Flint blinked and, if his mouth was visable he would've shown a smile. <Cubones are cool. I like them.>
Then, the two joined in on an awkward silence. The Aron looked around, waiting for her to say something. She stood shyly, though, so he knew he had to save the conservation somehow before it got painful. <Sooo, what's your name? I'm Flint.>

<Thaisa. I think that sounds too formal so I go by Tai. I was gonna go by Thai but my trainer pointed out that it sounds like thigh, as in, the part of your body, so I don't.> She managed a smile, feeling the conversation becoming less tense, <He says he got the name from a book or a story or something. I'm guessing yours got it from that rock that creates fire?> The Cubone looked pleased with her intelligence. Well, as pleased as something can look with a bone covering her face.

Flint nodded. <Yup, that’s what my trainer told me. I don’t know what it has to do with me. I don’t.. uh, ignite fires. Sounds.. cool, I guess.> The Aron didn’t look too sure of that. He was still getting used to being “owned”. <But Thaisa’s a cool name. I like it, even if it does sound like a body part. Thigh.. is a,> he pronounced slowly.
((Sorry for shortness.))

The Cubone looked pleased, dispite her commonly irritated attitude towards strangers. <Thanks.> She said brightly, <I like it too. I always thought it was Thigh-is-a too but my trainer likes to say it with a sh sound instead of an s. I always thought it should be spelled T-H-A-I-S-H-A, but he says it came from a book he read and if he changed it it would lose its meaning. > She didn't plan on saying anymore, but remembered a question she had before and spoke up with, <Do you know anyone else here or are you the only one he dropped off..?>
