A man named Elijah leaned on the fence of one of the breeding stalls, fixing a thick glove onto his left hand. Yes, he was going to try out this breeding charade. He had heard from professional breeders the allure of the act; although it really didn't suit Elijah that much, it wouldn't hurt to try it once. Besides, his Pokemon deserved to have some family too. Of course, Eli and the rest of the Ricketts were close enough to be considered theirs. But bloodline was a different kind of bond. Elijah learned its full meaning not too long ago.
The black-haired man took out a pokeball, having deep confidence in the selection he'd made. Claribel had the right mixture of peacefulness and compassion for this kind of situation. He gently pushed the orb's release, and out emerged a beautiful red-eyed Noctowl.
"Hello Claribel," Elijah murmur as he rubbed a gloved finger on the skin beneath her plume. She chirped pleasantly, enjoying the feeling. This glove meant a lot to Elijah; he had carried a young Claribel, still a Hoothoot, using it. That was before the bird came close to reaching the man's height. Now she carried him around..
Picking up a phone from his pocket, he placed his fingers on the butttons absently as he thought who to invite to breed. Hmm...
His mind traced back to a blue haired boy Elijah remembered liking. What was it.. Luke? Yeah! That was it.
Elijah watched as the phone sent out it's signal into the world, hoping the young kid would puck up in the other side.

Ring ring, ring ring, ring- Huh? My match call... Luke blinked, looking down at the small device in his pocket. It was flashing blue. Taraji leaned his head down towards it, staring at it curiously as Luke lifted it out of his pocket and read the name the Match Call was displaying. Elijah... "Oh yeah! Hello?" Luke answered, but then promptly dropped the phone during his realization of who it was. It fell down, clattered on the ground a bit, and Luke winced. Thorne scoffed. "You mean people actually call you?" "Shut up," the boy sighed, and picked up the phone again. "Sorry, Elijah, it's Luke...I dropped the phone." There was an incoherent mutter that came behind Luke and then a prompt yell of annoyance, followed by the familiar noise of a pokemon being returned to a pokeball. "Anyways," he chuckled nervously, "What's up?"

Elijah had said hello and began to ask him something, but the phone started making rustling noises and he waited patiently. He gave a low chuckle from the Caturne's voice. "Having training trouble, huh?" Elijah knew the frustration of a sharp tongued Pokemon. "Well, I was calling to see if you might like to breed with one of my Pokemon.. Have anything that can get along with a Noctowl?"
Eli was interupted by a random comment from his bird. <Why does he keep the stupid glove, anyway?> But as always, Elijah only heard chirping. He hushed Claribel and stroked her with the glove. "Well, anyway.. Are you up for it? Claribel can give you a ride if you need one."

Luke laughed a bit as Eli commented on his training trouble, and then waited to hear what he was saying. Breeding? That was a pretty good idea. With a...Noctowl? Aw man, cool. Elijah is lucky to have one of those. Then again, he is a gym leader already... Luke reminded himself, and then thought about what pokemon he had already. Taraji wouldn't work...Thorne obviously wouldn't, and neither would Shaoran. But he'd just caught Sebastian- he would work. "Yeah, in fact I just caught a Doduo. Would that be alright?" He waited for a second, and then laughed. "Yeah, a ride would be great. I don't have any way to get there right now, I'm...in the middle of a desert." he added, scratching the back of his neck as he looked around himself at the vast expanse of sand that was surrounding him.

"Mm-hmm," Elijah said, "A Doduo is fine. I just hope he'll cooperate, but I'm sure he will." Eli felt strange, since he was pushing nature to breed, but.. It was instinctual, wasn't it? At least it's not hurting anyone. Eli nodded to himself. This ought to be interesting.. "Alright, I'll send her right on her way. Though, she doesn't know what you look like, so could you, uh, explain it to her? You're a Pokemorph, right?" What a strange concept, having someone else who can understand my pokemon better than their own trainer.. Oh well.

"Alright, that'd be great. And...well, I'm not sure what he's like when it comes to the opposite sex, but...I think he'll be alright." It was a strange concept, a Doduo breeding with a Noctowl. Luke knew they bickered amongst themselves, but surely when it came to breeding they'd be alright...Well, the only thing they could really do would be to leave the two pokemon alone for a while and see what happened. "Yeah, sure. Um, can she hear me?" he glanced at the phone, and then waited a moment before starting to speak in pokemorph. <I've got blue hair and two Blastoise ears, and I'm wearing blue and brown. I'm probably around the halfway point in the desert, and I don't have any pokemon out right now.> he said, feeling a bit weird speaking in poketongue. Normally he only listened to it.

Elijah bent down and held the phone in front of the Noctowl's face, making her bend back from the strange device. It started talking, and as she listened closer Claribel could indentify the familiar language. She couldn't tell, though, what point the voice was trying to get across. The Noctowl sounded cross as she spoke. <Hmm, okay, that's great. So what do you want me to do? And who are you? Why should I care about the desert?> But as she asked the questions she had a good feeling why she was being told all this.
Her prediction was solified as Elijah called her name. He had retrieved a big flashcard of the sort, showing a picture of the sandy desert from a bird's view. He pointed at the card, and then to the Match Call. She sighed. Yup, she had to go to the desert. And pick up that guy? What? <Okay, okay.. Fine. Alright, human, I'll see you soon.> She tried hard not to hide her frustration. It wasn't often she picked up a random stranger for Eli; but what annoyed her was that it was the desert. Nobody liked the desert.
Claribel took up, letting her instinctual navigator point the way to the desert. Elijah watched her go, until he remembered Luke was still on the line. "Oh! Ha, sorry. Just got carried away… So I'll see you soon, Luke. I hope you aren't afraid of heights," he laughed.
(( Yup, she'll be there soon. You finish the whole Cubone charade. :3 ))
