((Please reply here. Only use one trainer at a time, and when one leaves you can bring in another. Don't expect my replies to be super mega awesome or on time, since I expect I will be modding you all. ^^ ) A large glittering lake seems to appear and disappear, as if it were a mirage. Many trainers rush to visit, rods in hand, in a annual gathering of shiny water pokemon. From afar you can see shiny dratini and magikarp leaping out of the water for some fresh air. In the center of the lake, three gyrados seem to be battling or playing, it's hard to tell which, ignoring the coming trainers. Also around the lake, trainers in dark clothing watch the gathering mob try their luck on the lake, approaching only to make sure only one pokemon is taken away.

With a grin, Ardeo launched himself at the lake, grinning at the red scaled Gyrados in the distance. "Yeeeeaaaah...." holding his Super Rod in one hand, he put a little piece of hot dog on the end of the hook, and pulled his arm back - launching the hook into the lake. He watched the ripples with a fierce expression. He was determined to get a Shiny Pokemon he wanted.

The murky depths of the water stayed silent for a while. The Gyarados ignored the enticing offer of hot dog, one knocking down another and letting out a terrifying laugh. Perhaps their horseplay was scaring the fish from the area, since the rod was stagnant for a good deal of time. But something finally caught on to the free meal and decided to take a nibble. From above its shadow looked rather plump, and it had rushed considerably fast to the hot dog when it caught sight of it. Being of a grab-and-go nature, the hooked creature tugged hard on the rod and tried to tug its prey to the bottom of the lake.

Ardeo was dozing when the tug came; and it wasn't just a tug; whatever it was, it sure was hungry. "Urk." the Blaziken stood up, pulling back on the line, then leaning forward and trying to reel in a little, hoping that between the tug-of-war, the Fire-type Morph would gain more ground than the hidden Pokemon.

Seeing as the free meal wasn't so free, the pokemon became frustrated. After one last tug, it let the reel do its job and bring it up to the surface. Oh, but it was on. The lake creature hadn't had a good altercation lately. As it surfaced, a cold chill suddenly crept around the trainer. The pokemon's small ivory horn and beady eyes appeared first, then with a push of its tail dove out and sent its Icy Wind at full blast on Ardeo.
A wild Dewgong has challenged to you to a battle! (And would also like some food)
------
The water was flat. And ugly. And more importantly, it was not shiny. It was more like a swamp, anyway. A dump. Like a little crummy swimming pool where one too many babies took a leak in. The only upside to it was that Nolan could see his reflection in it.
"Hey!" Reidel yelled, leaving footprints in the mud where his black boots slammed into them. The wind had whipped up since he had gone to get some fishing equipment, and now that a light rainstorm was picking up, Reidel was glad his golden trench coat got its gloss from a waterproof lining. He tousled his hair, whipping some of the droplets of it. They still pattered on his head though, pestering him enough to shoot a nasty glance at the sky. "I'm coming!" he added to the Mudkip before he almost slid into the mud.
The Mudkip did not reply, only glowering at him and bombarding his trainer with a displeased look as he made his way over. The blonde-haired boy tried his best not to acknowledge him, placing his rod and pokeball on the ground and kneeling down with a smile. For a minute there, they stayed this way, Reidel awaiting an answer from Nolan and Nolan waiting to see how long Rei's stupid smile would stay plastered on his face. The Mudkip helped get it off by spitting a weak jet of water at his face.
Reidel flinched and immediately frowned. His face was scrunched up until finally, he had the willpower to look at that beautiful flat faced thing again. "Happy now?" he muttered. "Indeed so," Nolan said, a grin on his face this time. "I'm so glad," Reidel said flatly as he whipped the fishing line into the water with a twinge of utter frustration.

(Hey. Lookit me. HEY. Do I have your attention? Yeah. I'm actually modding. Yes.)
The lake may not have seemed all that pleasant, (At least to the uppity Mudkip,) but it was a serene and peaceful place for the rest of the water types. The Gyarados still frolicked in the center of the lake, and just below the surface there was an occasional glimmer or shadow, hinting to the rare pokemon that made their home here.
Few pokemon were by the shore, however. Most were in the deepest parts of the lake, for the shallow waders had become murky and muddy, perhaps in a recent rainstorm. If there were any water type pokemon, it would be impossible to make them out in the dark water. All except one species, anyway.
And it was by pure coincidence that this exact pokemon came across what looked like a promising snack. It swam slowly and surely, biding it's time and watching carefully. It took about five minutes for the pokemon to take the bait. It soon regretted that decision.
From Reidel's point of view, the pokemon would make a few feint ripples as it came closer to the bobber. As soon as he would feel a sudden tug from the line, the water lit up in a grass-green glow. It looked as if somebody had thrown a christmas light in the water.
The lit-up creature struggled to escape, it's light swerving left and right before it finally made the decision to try to get to deeper water.

Reidel squeezed out a grunt as he was caught off guard by the sudden movement. Placing his foot on a rock, he kept his position as he rattled his fishing rod this way and that, biting down instinctively as he tensely pulled back. His body was frail, but he could try his best now.
Nolan only stared into the water, noting the lit creature's enterance with a speck of interest but not enough to warn his trainer of it. He rambled off like it wasn't there, engaging in a one sided conversation with his golden dressed boy. "You know, I have a reason to be upset." Reidel tugged and reeled like mad, his tongue sticking out at one point. "Hmm, yes. See, I don't like to be replaced. That's what you're doing, right?" Up to this point Reidel had been ignoring him, but he did manage to look over somewhat confusedly. The Mudkip looked a little steamed now. He took Reidel's look as one of awknowledgement. "Oh, I'm just your little collector's item, huh? Well, guess what? I don't care! You can replace me with your radioactive, slimy murk monster!"
Caught in a huff, Nolan stuck his head directly above the water and screamed into the depths for all to hear; "RADIOACTIVE SLIMY MURK MONSTER!"

The pokemon put up a good fight, but like it's adversary, it wasn't the beefiest pokemon in the lake. Pretty soon it tired out and allowed itself to be reeled in. It didn't seem all that angry or surprise once it surfaced: A wild Chinchou appeared! Lv. 6Two cross-shaped pupils wandered Nolan's way. <I beg your pardon.> It said, in a particularly bored, quiet voice. <I had no we had such rude pokemon about....>The glowing pokemon, seemingly paying no attention to Rai at all, sent a Thunder Wave towards the Mudkip. Nolan repulsed and stuttered like an insulted drunk. " Well- you- you- you're radioactuv. Yurr." Nolan dropped his head on the ground in a depressed slump and pointed a webbed foot at the creature. " You suck. That is all." All at once, Reidel let go- and immediately regretted it. As he rested his nerves he was not ready for the rebound and fell straight backwards on the ground. A mud puddle dampened his clothes and his mood, and it didn't help emotionally to see Nolan jitter unprofessionally from a successful Thunder Wave. Reidel sighed and wiped some murky slop off his coat (which he thanked himself again for being waterproof). " Alright Nolan.. Listen to me and use Tackle." Nolan rambled some strange voodoo and reluctantly followed through anyway, dangling his his head with a risky recklessness.

The Chinchou seemed neither happy or relieved Thunder Wave had been successful. It dropped from the line back into the murk, but made no move to escape now. It stared at the two with a blank expression. <Radioactive? Not really. Try bioluminescent. It's a chemical process, similar in that found in the back end of Volbeet or Ilumise, in which the enzyme luciferase acts upon luciferin...>
The pokemon paused. <... We'll save the chemistry for later. I'm not sure your blueberry-sized brain could handle all this at once. Not to mention a battle. I do hope I'm not confusing you too much.>
Of course this statement could only be followed by Supersonic. A loud-pitched yowl sounded from the angler pokemon, making it shake violently.

"Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up," Nolan replied, as polite as he could muster.
"Shut- BRRAGH!" The Mudkip reeled back as his color-coordinated brain and him jittered and spasmed from the hideous noise. He wanted to scream, beg him to stop.. But his paralyzed state sapped him of the power to do so.
Reidel cupped his face into his hand. After a quiet mix of shame, frustration, etc., he said, "You know, now that I think about it, that Spheal seems more formidable than you. God, Nolan."
