The Seviper's eyes opened slowly as she overheard their conversation. She narrowed them as the boy yelled, obviously not looking pleased. <Do any of us LOOK like a Poliwag?> She asked, tongue slipping out of her mouth in frustration, coming back in time for a small hiss to follow, <Now shut up and let us sleep.> Her eyes closed with a small hesitation, glancing at his two pokemon to see which one might taste better before they finally shut. A shiny Scorupi peaked down from a rock to their left, and the Machop glanced their way once, shook his head before closing his eyes again.

Harry looked down shyly as the Seviper talked down to him like a nosey little puppy. If Harry hated anything, it was being scolded. He didn’t leave home to be treated the same way! He wanted to eat cookies whenever he pleased and go to bed without brushing his teeth. The Riolu boy did a complete 360 and headed the other way, as far away from hasty lips as he could. He would’ve kept walking, regardless if his Pokemon followed or not. Of course they would follow, they had nowhere else to go. But there was one exception, Harry learned, that could stop him in his tracks. <Harrrrry,> called a cold voice, extending parts of his words in a creepy, playful way. <Tuuurn around..> Obeying the command without thinking, Harry spun around to face a pink and green Seviper. “Fang? How did you get out?” Fang had seemed like a reasonable name for his newest, less.. gentle member of his team. It also was inspired by his favorite show on TV about a crime fighting Lucario who, for a long time, dealt with a shady Arbok named Fang, trying to find out if he was someone he could trust or not. In the end, he backstabbed Luke the Lucario.. I hope my Fang doesn’t do that. Maybe I should’ve given him a different name. Fang saw his wavering look, the way he couldn’t smile for him like he did for Hodoro and Rosey. He didn’t care, of course. <I slid..> “Well.. okay.” Harry wouldn’t bother to question the Seviper any further. “So, what do you want?” He watched as the slithery creature ignored his question, slithering off to do what he pleased. Without a clear reason, Fang sneaked behind one of the rocks and tried to wrapped his body around the Scorupi.

The ruby colored pokemon was caught off guard, letting out a loud chittering noise of frustration that caught the other pokemon's attention. After some struggling, the Skorupi stopped, opening its mouth and widening the pinchers surrounding the open mouth, sinking all into the scales of the snake. It twisted its head to the side, not wasting any time as it savagely tried stabbing with the stings on its claws. The Seviper looked up at the struggling pokemon then down at the trainer. Making quick work of getting off the rock she was on, the snake-pokemon was instantly in Harry's face, towering over him easily.

<Fang! What are you doing!> Harry cried in a shocked voice. The Riolu and Stunky seemed stunned as well, watching the shiny Seviper attack nature with no intentions. What was he thinking? Hodoro and Rosey shared a look, as if they couldn’t believe they would be living with his guy from the <Just stretching my limbs, Harrrry. Pokeballs are quite a bore.> Fang closed his sentence with a grunt, since the Skorupi’s mouth was latching itself into his skin. The snake muttered angrily as he latched himself off the opponent and away from its stinging assaults. Curse my inexperience.. I must get better. Rosey looked disgusted as Fang moved neared them, watching a female of its species confront his shaken trainer. When the Seviper dared to look at her with a sly smile, she felt anger bubble up inside her. The Stunky sent a light stratch at his face, their first impressions of each other etched into history and bound to stick around. <I don’t like you,,> Fang said casually. <Yeah, I guess I can agree.>
Meanwhile, Hodoro ran to rescue a paralyzed Harry. Before anything could happen, he jumped in the middle of them, facing the sour Seviper. Woah woah, hey! Don’t be hasty now.. We’re sorry for interrupting your peace. Our Seviper, well.. He really acts on his own, and somehow he got free without Harry knowing.> His gaze flickered to an ajar pokeball and handed it to his trainer, who fumbled awkwardly but brought Fang back to his rightful place. <We didn’t mean to harm you or your Skorupi friend.. We’re ust looking for this Poliwag. It’s really important that we find him. It could determine the fate of the little lake over there.> Hodoro gulped. Hopefully she’d understand..

The ruby red Skorupi let out a chittering noise from behind the snake as it abandoned him. His stingers were waved around, and though no words came it was obvious he was yelling something rather impolite to the attacker.
The Seviper looked up and down the boy, then up and down his pokemon, eyes meeting the Shiny one of her species. She sent him a completely uninterested look before looking down at the trainer. <While you're out, mind bringing back something to eat?> She said, leaning towards him, <If not I suppose one of your pokemon would do.. though I find fighting types rather tough to chew and.. her-> She guestured towards Rosey, looking disgusted, <I don't think she'd taste too good.>

Harry stayed in his spot, starting to feel sweat drip down his neck. Okay, threats to eat his pokemon didn’t really scare him, unless it was a venomous, ticked off snake with fangs almost rubbing on his cheeks. The Riolu looked a bit nervous as well. As far as he had seen, Sevipers weren’t a species he could trust. <Oh.. Okay.. We’ll do so.> Hodoro motioned with his head for Harry and Rosey to scat. The Stunky though, seemed too worried on her edibility than on the Riolu. <Is it my attitude?> sh questioned the Seviper.
Instead of running away like anyone else would do, Harry grabbed a handful of grass, flung it in the Seviper’s face and took off.
Harry and Rosey relucantly followed. To where, they had no idea.. But when they stopped, it seemed Harry didn't know either. "Ummm, wait.. Oh man, I wanna go back there. That red buggy thing was cool." He stared opposite of the way they'd been running. A look of thought came on his face. "Maybe.." "Hodoro!" the Riolu snapped his head towards his trainer, ready to obey. "You have opposable thumbs! Could you take this pokeball and go catch that red creature? Do it secretly, though." He handed the red-and-white orb to his buddy. The canine looked down at the object in his paws grimly.
"Uhh.. Okay." Relucantly, Hodoro ran off to the spot they'd just flees from, making sure not to be seen.

The Seviper shook the dirt from her face angrily, making sharp, swift motions back and fourth until it was all gone. She hissed violently when she realized they were far ahead and took no time to bunch herself up and leap forward, landing gracefully and moving very fast. She wasn't paying enough attention to notice the Riolu as it passed her, instead aiming to strike the boy. When she got close enough to do so, she bunched herself up again, aimed, and lunged in his direction. Her long fangs were protruding from her open mouth, reading to grasp onto him.
The Skorupi was dozing, still muttering random insults to the snake pokemon that had attacked him, not caring that he could not be heard by anyone except the Machop next to him. The fighting pokemon looked irritated that the mumblings were distracting him from the nap he had started before.

Suddenly, the Seviper appeared in his eyesight as it trucked towards them like a six-wheeler. A wail choked up in his throat, stand stiff as he watched it slither along. Finally, the cry spurted out and Harry spun and ran, his legs burning from all the running. Rosey's legs were starting to give out, too. Her body was not made for running, and she watched as her trainer moved ahead as she slowed down. And she watched, in horror, as the black snake made a leap for him. In that moment, as the Seviper landed on Harry, she remembered what she was there for. <Aah! Omigosh, Harry, I'm coming!>The boy let out a sickening yell. The creature's fangs were rammed into his back, the weight of the Seviper's body mass pushing him down as well. It didn't long for the boy to slump down, arms still extended as he bent on the ground. Dots of a dark shade danced around his vision as poison sank through his veins, and his whole body was in so much pain he thought he would throw up. But as he crouched there, ready to slouch over and pass out, something react deep inside of him. A strange feeling was flowing through him. Harry realized what it was as it grew: Rage. Instinct. Ferocity. He had never felt an emotion so strong, and as it took hold of him, he stood up. <I'm here! Rahh!> Harry's Stunky sprang in the air, claw potruding forward, swiping at the black scales with the last of her energy. Harry lost track of what he was he was doing, and he stood there too frightened to move. (And now onto something completely different) Hodoro rushed past the Seviper, flinching away from her rampaging body. Yikes! Is that headed towards Harry? Oh man, I wish I could do something, but.. The Riolu knew he wasn't a fighter, despite his type. He'd never lay a paw on anyone, and he hoped to keep it that way. And besides, Harry had Rosey to fight for him. Good for him.. Hodoro tiptoed neared the rocks, staring at the dozing Skorupi like a work of art. It's skin is so shiny.. I can see why Harry wanted it so bad. For a while, he stood there, dazzled. Shaking himself, he regained his focus. He dangled the pokeball over it's body, wondering what would happen when he dropped it. Hodoro let go of his grip on the ball and watched to see what would happen.

The Seviper tore her fangs out, twisting to face the new attacker. She lunged forward, mouth open towards the little skunk in a Wrap attack, despite her earlier words about taste. Her tail thrashed behind her in fury. She would show them.
The pokeball fell on the dozing Skorupi, wiggling two.. three, then popping open and shooting back at the fighting pokemon. The shiny opened his eyes and looked around quickly, spotting the Riolu. <Did YOU do that?> he growled, crawling a few steps forward to add more menace to his apperance. His stingers scraped roughly against the rock, <Don't you know that to catch a pokemon you have to weaken it first? No, a stupid fighting type like you wouldn't understand.> At this point the Machop was awake again, not looking pleased at the insult against his type. The Shiny pokemon continued. <Lemme guess, your stupid trainer boy got himself tangled in a mess and sent you back to make quick work of my capture. Well why don't you run along then and tell him you failed. You'll have to do better than one silly little snake hug.>

Hodoro watched as the ball shook, feeling good- no, really good- that the capturing was going well. He didn't understand the shaking theory, but as long as the Skorupi was in the ball, it was good! But alas, it didn't stay that way. Hodoro shrank away from the angry creature, trying to pretend he wasn't there. Sorry wouldn't help, in fact nothing could help, so the sad blue puppy dashed off, tail dragging under his legs in embarrassment.
Rosey's tiny body wriggled in the mass of scales that embodied her. She looked scared, too dainty to ever expirence being crushed in her life before. She was afraid, and only the most reclusive Pokemon didn't know what happened when a Stunky was afraid.
Fssssh. Rosey let out a toxic cloud around the Seviper, the air tainted purple. The skunk closed her eyes embarrassedly, mortified in front of her trainer even though it helped the battle.

The Mochop glowered at Hodoro's back, almost ashamed by the Riolu's cowardness when insulted in such ways. He shook his head and leaned back against the rock again.
The snake pulled her head back for another blow, fangs protruding from her open mouth as she readied the strike. The cloud of purple made her pause, and her tongue flicked out of her mouth. Her face scrunched up from the unpleasant taste, reeling backwards as she tried to avoid it. Her tail twitched repeatedly, like a rattle and she bolted backwards, yelling over her lack of shoulder, <You better keep your eyes out, trainer. If I see you again I will eat all of you.> And with that she was gone, moving away from the trainer, and away from the rocks she had bathed at earlier.

The Stunky plopped onto the ground, too shaken up to move back up and challenge the Seviper. But she stared indignantly at the snake as she spoke, ready to fight again if she needed to. Rosey was greatly relieved as she back off, but she never dropped her hostility until the menace had finally slithered out of sight. She sat and stretched her legs, trying to relieve the cramp that came from the Seviper’s painful grip. She had felt like a wet towel, being squished and twisted like that. At least it helped get something out of her. Rosey suddenly realized she hadn’t heard a word out of Harry, not even a word of encouragement. Where’d he go? The Stunky padded through the trees, looking up and down for his blue and black hat.
She finally found him leaning against a tree, his arms dangling down as he stared into the sky. His eyes looked cloudy with a weird emotion, and he didn’t seem to notice Rosey as she stood in front of him. <Hello Harry.> The boy shut his gaping mouth, but he still didn’t awknowledge her. <Helloooooo Harry!> she tried again, hating being ignored. <I beat that Seviper for you. Or, at least it ran away and saved our deaths for later. Still, live as we can, y’know?> “Good,” the boy hissed, sounding out of breath. “That snake needed to be chased out of here.” He looked down at his Stunky, eyes glimmering with hatred. Rosey was a bit frightened to see her trainer like this. <Umm.. I know I just met you, but are you always like this after battles? I mean, jeeze. It’s over. Be happy.> her tone was concerned, not angry. Harry seemed to lighten up. “..Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. Just.. It attacked me, and it hurt.” He rubbed his back, wincign at the memory of the fangs jabbed in there. <Yeah, well, it attacked me too, and I’m doing just fine.> Rosey snapped. But she rethought her sentence, feeling a little bad for Harry and added, <But then again I am the pokemon. Sorry for snapping.> She lowered her head. Harry blinked. “It’s fine.”
Just then Hodoro rushed into the scene, panting heavily as he stopped to lean over and catch his breath. <Ohmigosh- Don’t- do that again- to me..> he wheezed, tugging on his collar to let some air get beneath the sweaty leather. <Didn’t work, anyway..> “What? You mean you didn’t catch it?” Harry looked disappointed and confused, still having only the slightest idea of how to catch Pokemon. “How’d it get away?” <Well.. Hufff. He popped back out and said you had to beat him up first.> “And.. You didn’t?” <Didn’t what?> “Beat him up!”
<What?> the Riolu replied shrilly. <Of course not!> Hodoro was a housepet, not a fighter. He had never lifted a claw for battling purposes, only to bat at Harry’s then blond hair when he was a puppy. Harry knew that; as embarrassing as some people thought it would be, it was just the way Hodoro was. “Well, alright,” Harry grumbled, standing up and walking off. The Riolu blinked, wondering where he was going, but then the quest for the Poliwag all came back to him. Both him and Rosey followed behind him, walking in an awkward silence as they moved to the next place the Scyther mentioned- the damp grounds.

Up ahead, the moist earth could be seen. The actual 'Damp Grounds' were a ways away yet, but the earth would be damp the way there. A brown something shifted in the ground, and a Treeko lifted his head out of the mud. He wiped around his eyes, revealing his green color, and glanced at the trainer curiously. When he thought he might have been seen, he plunged back under and hoped to remain motionless until the threat passed.
A little ways away from the grass-type a Heracross leaned heavily against a tree, mouth first of course, sucking the sap out of a clear cut, sliced vertially down the trunk. He didn't seem to notice Harry or his pokemon as they traveled towards the new area.

Harry’s unusual mood seem to lift as the silence rolled on. Harry took out his focus band and wrapped it around his forehead, turning towards Hodoro and pointing towards the inside joke with a smile. The Riolu usually would’ve laughed or commented on how much he really needed a Focus Band, but his mouth stayed shut. Staring at his master for a few seconds, he finally remembered to give a grin back. Harry’s joy looked like it faded, but he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, the boy let out a sudden scream, pointing at the ground. “What? What?” Rosey’s expression changed from bored to distressed. <What’s wrong?> She looked to where he was pointing, but saw nothing. “Oh. You missed it. There was a Treecko..” <..Oh.. Okay..> She moved on, a bit shaken by her trainer’s.. compulsiveness. Hodoro just stared, forgetting to walk for a minute. “Oh, hey!” Harry said as he noticed the Heracross, pointing but not screaming this time. “It’s a bug-a-mah-jigger.” <Cool! Are bug-a-mah-jiggers strong? And full of wisdom when it comes to missing Poliwags?> “Maybe! C’mon, let’s ask him! Hey, Mr. Bug-a-mah-jigger! Do you know where Paul-e-wags would be?” He ran towards him while he shouted this, his boots stamping against the ground like a madmen. To Harry, though, this was normal behavior while dealing with wildlife.

The "bug-a-mah-jigger" continued sucking long after the trainer and pokemon arrived, only parting with the tree when he was satisfied by the amount he had recieved. He turned slowly to face the new arrivals, looking them over with a very bored and very lazy expression. He yawned loudly, dragging it out full value before smacking his mouth shut and sucking more of the sap from the inside of his mouth. He relished the flavor for a bit, still watching the new arrivals. When he finally seemed finished, he reached down to his left, dragging his eyes away for a second to grab a stick, which he proceeded to lean on heavily. It sunk into a very soft patch of ground, and he removed it slowly, wiping the grime from the bottom on the trunk of the tree and locating a patch of grass where he could safely put it without it sinking.
<Nowww.> He said, stretching before he continued, <What did you want?> His voice was elderly, and very very slow, like the rest of his motions.
